After an awful tour to Hallstatt the day before, I was almost tempted to cancel my day in Ramsau - so glad I didn't! There was actually a little bit of spare room in the coach, though it was quite small and not very comfortable. We had a good journey up into the snowy mountains where the horses were waiting to take us on what I believe was a 15km sleigh ride, with a break half way round. I loved the horses and the 7 of us in our sleigh all made friends quickly as we dashed through the snow. It was totally fabulous and I drained my phone battery taking pictures and videos of our wonderful journey. We then had a couple of hours in the village, which was probably a bit too long but I found a nice little place to have lunch (very little open on NYE Sunday). It was a full day and we got back into Salzburg around 6pm. I'd do this again in an instant.

This was a highlight of our trip to Austria. I was traveling with my husband and adult daughter. We took this tour from Salzburg and it was fabulous. Our tour guide, Alenka, gave us a history of the region on the way up, filling in with bits of local trivia and a few restaurant recomendations. Our weather was perfect but it's a sleigh ride in a mountain village so dress warm. They provide warm blankets. A rest stop for the horses allows time for a warm drink at a cafe on the trip. Our driver, Marcus, was gracious and full of local knowledge. His beautiful team, Luna and Gretel, were steady and ready to work. The restaurant, Waldschenke, where we started and ended the sleigh ride, was excellent. Local specialties, warm drinks, and gorgeous desserts in a classic atmosphere were the perfect follow up to our ride. This tour allowed plenty of time to explore the village before heading back to Salzburg. The grounds at Ramsau are a winter paradise for cross country skiing, sleigh rides, and winter hiking on the miles of groomed trails. I would happily return for a longer stay. Pro tip, arrive early for the tour. The Austrians keep a tight schedule.

Oh my goodness, this was an amazing day. Alenka, our guide, and Sammy, our driver, took us to Ramshau in the mountains, for an unforgettable 1.5 hour sleigh ride. It was magical. The whole trip was very well organised and Alenka kept us very entertained during the road work delays...really excellent tour through the most dtunning scenery.

A memorable excision, highly recommended. Probably the best tour guide I’ve ever had in all the years of traveling, Leapold.

Fantastic day out and loved our sleigh ride in snowy Ramsau. Leopold was our guide - what can we say - he was both interesting and funny at the same time, Thank you - so pleased I booked this trip as it was a fun day out on Boxing Day (UK) or St Stephens Day ( Austria).

We have visiting Salzburg for almost a decade and enjoying the beautiful mountains, weather and hospitality. Panorama tours has excellent tour options. As a highlight of course the sound of music tour! In December we have decided to take the horse sleigh tour and we had the privilege to enjoy our Christms day with Leo, an exceptional tour guide with knowledge, love and passion for his profession. Leo, your friends from Cyprus say hello and we thank you for the lovely day. If you ever visited Salzburg, make sure to see the tour options from Panorama tours and enjoy their hospitality and of course the majestic Salzburg!!!! The Kafa family!

This was a wonderful way to spend Christmas morning and I can't say enough wonderful things about this tour and our tour guide Leo. (Leo was super knowledgeable and did a great job giving a little history without being boring and mixing in some humor along the way.) But first I'll start with a funny... I booked this excursion several months in advance and forgot it was a "half day tour" as our confirmation and tickets clearly spell out a "two hour" sleigh ride. As we got packed into a tour bus (which were not expecting), the tour guide starts to describe the day -- a 2-hour bus ride up, 2-hour bus ride down, 2-hour sleigh ride, lunch, time on the mountain, etc..... my kids and husband start giving me the stink eye! Spending that much time on a bus was not what anyone wanted to do on Christmas day. And apparently, I was not the ONLY person who made that mistake. Regardless, we had a blast. The bus took us up to a village on the top of the mountain. There wasn't enough snow to actually sleigh ride, so they put the sleighs up on wheels and the horses trotted around with their sleigh bells jingling and seeming to have more fun than anyone else as they all vied to be in the lead:) At the top of a neighborhood we stopped at a local restaurant for soup and then returned to the village to poke around till the others finished. There wasn't much open, so if I had a do over, I would have spent more time researching hikes in the local area and taken a brisk one while we waited for the return bus. Instead, we ate a "second lunch" at a local restaurant which is known for their homemade cakes and deserts. We weren't that hungry, but they did look special. The trip back down the mountain passed through some cute alpen towns there pretty to view. All in all, this adventure made Christmas morning super magical and despite the bus ride, we had a great time!

Even though it was unseasonably warm and there was no snow, that didn't take away from the fun and romance of a sleigh ride in the Alps. The mountains had plenty of snow to make for great photography. The lunch in Ramsau was outstanding. Leo the guide and Roland the driver were both exceptional, kept everyone entertained and safe.

My husband and I booked for boxing day. Unfortunately not much snow happening. But that didn't stop the tour! The sleigh ride was incredible, leo happened to be on our sleigh guiding us with what was around us. Leo was also very informative on the bus ride too, ensuring we were all satisfied and comfortable

This was a great tour because of many reasons. Our tour guide Walter did a really good job. He provided a lot of information on the way to our destination in a funny and entertaining manner. The scenery itself was beautiful and although the snow was not as high as it would normally be, the views were still great. We throughly enjoyed the sleigh ride and then also the lunch in one of the restaurants. A really worthwhile trip. Thanks again Walter :-)

My wife and I have enjoyed this experience enormously. The tour guide, Leo, was funny and informative. The driver, Aldo, drove us safely in heavy snow conditions. The horse-drawn sleigh ride through heavy snowed Alpen villages was a lot of fun. The local authentic cuisine was exquisite. And playing in the knee-deep snow made us feel like children again. If you are visiting Salzburg in the winter, this is a must-do activity. You will remember it forever.

This tour rates as one of my top 10 favourite days ever - simply magical... As an Australian I have only ever sung songs or watched movies about snow and sleigh rides at Christmas time. So, this experience in the stunning Austrian alps was an absolute lifetime ‘bucket list’ dream. The day was everything I imaged it to be and so much more. Sunny - but it had snowed the day before the day of my tour so the weather was just perfect for this adventure. The scenery was surreal and breathtaking and the entire day wonderful. Walter, our guide was so lovely, informative and friendly and our bus driver was very skilled on the icy roads making you feel really safe on the winding roads. Perfect amount of time spent out on the sleigh ride and a welcomed halfway stop in the snow fields for strudel and schnapps. A perfect magical day to treasure forever!

We were treated to a one hour horse-drawn sleigh ride through a beautiful, snow-covered Austrian village. Seeing the sun glistening on the snow was magical. We had extra time to visit some local villages - which were also extremely picturesque.

We were a little worried that this would be a bust without snow but the opposite was true. The Panorama staff was great and even got us to St. Wolfgang for a bit of the Christmas market before we met our driver. Our ride was fantastic and our driver Wolfgang was the best. He was really fun and super interesting plus he gave us homemade Schnapps. Upon our return to the village our driver picked us up and made a suggestion about a great Christmas market and offered to drop us there on the way back to Salzburg. He walked us in to the market and told us where to catch the bus back to town and which one to take. Definitely a highlight and I would definitely recommend this tour if you are in the area.
