My wife and I really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Lilith, and driver, Steve, were fantastic. While Chartres and the Cathedral are a must-see from Paris, their enthusiasm and good humour really enhanced our experience. We hope to use their services again for other tours.

Guide Lillet (sp) and driver Steve are the perfect pair to show you the splendor and beauty of Chartres. In a very comfortable automobile Lillet explains much of the history about both Chartres the Cathedral and the town while driving en route. It’s a magnificent site when you first see it from the road. Lillet was superb and comprehensive in her knowledge and extremely adept at conveying it. She also showed a bit of the charming town after the tour of the Cathedral. The trip back to Paris was smooth and comfortable and included a lively discussion about Russian authors & the need to find the right translations that do them justice. Cannot recommend this tour highly enough.

Our guide’s knowledge of the site and the pleasant driver who got us all there. It was a rare sunny day and though windy we enjoyed every minute.

Learned a lot about Chartres and cathedrals in general - our guide was very informative. Of particular interest was learning how to interpret the stained glass windows and statues and how they tell a story.

I booked this private tour of Chartres when my usual tour company was not available. Guides in France must be certified and licensed so I wasn't too worried about changing your companies other than the quality of the vehicle. Our guide, Kiko, was very friendly and knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. Chartres itself was fantastic. I had been there many decades (yikes) before and while it was amazing, the cathedral was grimy and unlit inside. Since, it has undergone an amazing restoration (still ongoing) and is well lit inside. Kiko knew so much of the history of the people, biblical and historical references, the architecture, etc and was a very good storyteller, an important skill for a guide. We had a lovely experience

It was a very comfortable drive in a clean, new Mercedes. We felt safe with the driver despite heavy traffic. The guide seemed fairly inexperienced and did not provide much historical background of the church. Arthur also said that he would talk about the Vikings coming to Chartres but did not. He brought up taking a break so we ended up eating lunch. He asked to join us and we ended up paying. He also asked to stop at a chocolate shop to buy items for his stepdaughter which ate more of our time. While it was a pleasant afternoon, it was not worth the expensive cost.

This tour was outstanding! Originally we thought about taking a train from Paris to Chartres. We are glad we didn’t. Our guide was excellent and gave us a ton of information on the Cathedral and the town of Chartres. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to find out about Chartres.

The private guide (Lily) was amazing. I highly recommend this tour of Chartre. We had lunch nearby afterwards and it was delightful and delicious. This is my second visit to Chartre and it was even better with a private guide!

Lilith our guide was outstanding! From the moment we left our hotel in Paris and our entire drive to Chartres she provided us with all the historical enlightening detail we wanted! The largest cathedral in France in a quaint medieval town provided a wonderful 1/2 day trip for us ! My husband and my adult daughter and I would highly recommend.

Our guide, Kikko, was wonderful - loved sharing history, faith and the beauty of the cathedral. His energy and knowledge gave us the history - after 40+ years of visiting dozens of beautiful ones - we learned how to read stained glass, discover architectural features/purpose and functions, shared our favorite teas and enjoyed a refreshing light rain. Driver Steven added to the tour - a fellow American whose “new life” is in Paris. A delightful and educational day.

I enjoyed the trip immensely. Especially with Notre Dame de Paris closed to visitors because of the 2019 fire, Notre Dame de Chartres is a priority. The guide, very knowledgeable, walked me through the cathedral pointing out many highlights. He answered all my questions. We were not at all rushed. He was patient and helpful when I was trying to see images high in the stained glass windows. I was having problems with my phone and was very worried about scheduling a ride to the airport at the end of my trip. The guide and driver were very gracious and reassuring in scheduling for me a ride to the airport a few days after the trip to Chartres. I plan to book the same tour when I go back to France next year with my grown children and grandson.

Excellent guide who brought the history and beauty of Chartres to life! Her passion for French history was amazing and she was quickly able to adapt her presentation to our level of knowledge.

We were in Paris over the holidays and scheduled this tour for Christmas Day since most things in Paris are closed that day (though Eiffel Tower was open which we did in the afternoon). Lilith gave a very pleasant and informative tour of Chartres, both the cathedral and town. There were a few stores open in Chartres that day so we were able to get lunch at one of them. She has a driver for the van, so is able to focus her time and attention on the tour and provide information along the way. Overall, would highly recommend.

Our trip was good, although traffic and driving time limits the time we actually spent in Chartres. Would have liked to have spend more time wandering the village. Guide was excellent and knowledgeable.

It was very luxurious to have a private tour, complete with driver and experienced guide. Our guide was very knowledgeable and patient with us and the Cathedral is a gem. It was the one thing we did on our week trip to Paris that didn't involve fighting a massive crowd, so we really enjoyed the leisure to explore the Cathedral and then have lunch in the wonderful town. Even the rain couldn't dampen the experience.
