Eric was fantastic! Very knowlegable guide. My girlfriends and I were in Charleston for a weekend and the tour was a highlight. I would highly recommend the tour to anyone visiting Charleston!

As a first time visitor, I wanted a more historical tour of Charleston and found it with Professor Eric. He is loaded with historical information and made the tour incredibly interesting. It was just what I wanted and expected from a Professor of History! I highly recommend it!

I have visited Charleston annually for 20+ years and taken at least 20 carriage tours. Most of those rides have included interesting narrative and pretty sites but over the years we have found that the content has degraded as less experienced guides have become common and route restrictions lead to less interesting paths. We booked our first walking tour for this year's trip and it has been the highlight of our long weekend. Eric was not only very knowledgeable and entertaining but he was also very accommodating to every member of our small group. I learned more during our 3 hours together than I have on all previous tours and he spoke "real history" which he presented in an entertaining manner. The walk was casual pace, and we were able to stop to ask questions along the way. I HIGHLY recommend even if you have been on previous limited tours. Do this tour early in your visit so you can use your new knowledge to enjoy the remainder of your walks through town. The small group format allows for more personable interaction and this was good enough to do again so we're already looking forward to next year.

Eric limits the group size so you definitely get the most out of his tour. He is a wealth of knowledge about South Carolina history, architecture, personalities, etc. 10/10 tour.

Dr.Lager led us on an extremely interesting walking tour around historic Charleston. He is a bona fide expert on Charleston and his love for this city was evident. He set a very comfortable walking pace so it was easy to follow along. He covered many topics related to the history of the Holy City and I never felt bored or overwhelmed by by the information. I envy his students at the Citadel who get to learn from this bright and interesting man as part of their curriculum. I recommend this tour for anyone who enjoys truthful and accurate history.

This tour was great and full of a interesting history about the city. One of the best city tours I have taken and provides a great grounding for exploring more of Charleston the rest of our visit. Eric is great and imparts a lot of information in a fun and easy way. I wish I could take one of his classes at the Citadel.

Eric's 2.5 hour historical tour was fantastic. He had an obvious mastery of the information and presented it in a clear and interesting manner. Eric engaged with everyone in the group (11 of us), had a strategic restroom break right in the middle of the tour, and had clear answers to all of our questions. He presented the academic information in a comfortable and light hearted way, giving us a great introduction to Charleston.

I received the broad historical and intimate facts about the founding of Charleston, the Civil War, the heroes, the wealth, the slave trade and its impact on the town, the architecture of many homes and places to eat and further places to explore. Eric's research and incredible memory and delivery made this tour a wonderful and memorable experience for my first trip to this lovely city.
