This was an excellent tour. Jonathan was very informative, extremely knowledgeable and a fun person. We would highly recommend taking any tour with him.

Jonathan's wealth of knowledge of the history of Charleston is second to none! He's a great story-teller (of all truths, I'm sure) and he made the whole walk enjoyable, entertaining, and most of all informative! He's obviously passionate about Charleston history and shared the good (and some bad) about the past here. I now know so much more about this city I've recently decided to make my home!!

Jonathan was very knowledgeable about the city and did a great job sharing it all. There were stories that he told that still have me pondering and investigating even more. I loved his embrace of the dark side of American history while still sharing his pride for our country…made me realize that yes, we can do both.

JWalkTours was an incredible experience! This was our first visit to Charleston and the best thing we did was take the morning tour on our first day. Jon is SO knowledgeable about all details of Charleston and surrounding areas, the tour was fascinating. We walked through the city and learned so much more than expected! The history is honest and impressive. We talked about the information we learned all weekend. We will definitely be visiting again and sign up for more JWalk tours! This was by far the most interesting and informative walking tour we have been on in Charleston. Accurate information! And not super coated like some of the other tours we have been on. If we had the time we would have definitely done the other tour.

I grew up in SC and went to college at The College of Charleston, and I thought I had substantial knowledge of the history of Charleston and South Carolina culture. This was my husband’s and my second tour with Jonathan, and he continued to teach me new things I had never learned (or been taught). Jonathan is generous with his knowledge and time. We highly recommend taking a walk through Charleston with him!

Johnathon gave a wonderfully in-depth tour that really connected us with the history of Charleston. We learned so much on the tour and saw some great historic sites.

Best Tour Guide my Dad and I have had and we have been on many adventures. Informative, Very Knowledgeable, spoke clear and distinctive to where you could understand, he was considerate of elderly people to make sure they were safe and comfortable. He extended the tour because we were so interested. Highly recommended! 5 stars for sure!!!

We had a fantastic time on this tour! We had already walked around the city and read many of the historical facts, but Jonathan had tons more information than what we had discovered on our own. His style of storytelling is energetic and engaging; we were fascinated and entertained from the first moment - highly recommended!!
