Captain Bryan's tour was equal parts educational and spooky. Would highly recommend this activity when visiting Charleston!

This is such a fun and informative ghost tour! Captain Bryan (tour guide) is a local and you can tell he is super passionate about sharing the history, both good and bad, of the Holy City. We loved the mix of spooky with real stories from real people who walked the streets of Charleston. The two awesome bars were a fun addition to the night. We also really appreciated the small group of the tour, it felt more personal and intimate and led to us getting to know our guide and fellow guests along the way. Captain Bryan made sure we were well taken care of and sent an extensive list of recommendations for the remainder of our time in the area when the tour concluded. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun and unique way to learn about Charleston!

We are "second timers" with Captain Brian. My wife and I had such a great time the first time in 2022, we treated our good friends to a tour. Captain Brian is enthusiastic and a wealth of knowledge about the history and hauntings of Charleston. What a wonderful evening.

Captain Bryon knows a ton of Charleston history and uses that to put his ghost stories in context. It was educational and engaging, and everyone in my group had a blast! Highly recommend the Boo Hag ghost tour, particularly to history buffs.

You could come to me with your right hand on a Bible and tell me you’ve found a better Charleston ghost tour, and I’d call you a liar. Brian was incredibly knowledgeable of both the ghosts of Charleston and the factual history of the city as well, telling comprehensive stories that intertwine the both. He was an amazing and engaging speaker and genuinely a kind person who made our trek around the city very enjoyable. Furthermore, he has a deep respect for the city and its people that my group greatly appreciated. If you are booking one tour through this city, book this one. Just to note, this tour involves a good deal of walking through a variety of beautiful areas and the opportunity to purchase some great drinks from local bars/pubs. I cannot recommend it enough, I had one of the best tourist experiences of my life.

This tour is a really good time, Captain Bryan is both knowledgeable and entertaining. He has some obscure information you might not get from other tour guides. Keep an open mind and remember this is the South and not all the history here is pleasant, but needs to be remembered. I would definitely recommend another tour with him!

Pure gold! Captain Bryan is a proven winner. I have gone on so many tours in the area, but rest assured if you are fortunate enough to get into this one you will get it all. The history and ghost stories are not only told with accuracy, unlike other guides who tend to bend the truth a bit, but are told with such personality and passion you are sure to have a scare and a laugh. The bars are not so bad either lol.

The best tour I’ve ever been on!!! Captain Bryan, a 7th generation Charlestonian and licensed Charleston tour guide, is clearly passionate about the area’s history. We not only learned so much from him about Charleston and our country’s history, but he also provided countless laughs along the way. Despite the laughs, Captain Bryan’s tone was always respectful of the sometimes dark history and culture of the city and its inhabitants. Believer or not, this tour has something for everyone and you’ll leave with some new chilling and fascinating knowledge. We really enjoyed both bars we visited. Captain Bryan highlighted some recommendations for cocktails and beer at each, and of course he did not lead us astray. He took great care of us and we had a blast. Don’t miss this tour if you’re in Charleston!
