Beautiful sight in Terceira, make sure you visit this one. Didn't want to rent a car so booked this tour, lovely guide Carolina who was so knowledgeable. Beautiful drive to all the sights, countryside, saw a village setting up for a bull running !! Caves are incredible and everything so well maintained for posterity

Our Tour Guide Dora was Wonderful! She was So knowledgeable and took the time to answer our questions. She gave us bonus treat, taking us to Serra do Cume where we saw ‘the quilt’, an Amazing view of the countryside.

The two caves and the sulfur vents were amazing but we’re made even better by our guide Carolina! She is an absolute gem and is very knowledgeable about the area. She’s also very kind and patient and pointed out the edible blueberries that no one knew were there from the other tours because no one was stopping to pick them like we were. I highly recommend using this company for the cave tours because it made it so much more enjoyable, and informative.

I booked a private Cave tour. When I got picked up there were 4 people in the car, so the driver told me to sit in the trunk!!!!! A private means private for one person!!!! Omg, what a horrible and expensive experience!!!! And they refused to refund me!!!!!

I paid 83 dollars for a private tour which wasn’t private at all. When I got picked up there were 4 people in the car and the tour guide opened his truck and told me to sit in there!!!! Then he dropped me off at Bisquittos beach which I asked him but never picked me up.

Wonderful Tour, definitely the highlight of our Trip. Our tour guide was incredible and took her time with us and she even took photos of my family and I (candid shots) that really captured the moment. We never felt rushed, we were able to talk it all in.

Totally enjoyable- they save the best for last. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and excellent at taking pictures! A great adventure rain or shine.

Loved this tour. An experience of a lifetime to walk the inside of an extinct volcano. One of only three volcanoes in the world that hasn’t collapsed post eruption and the only one in the world where you’re able to do a walk through. Our guide Antonio was so much fun. It was like going on a trip with a friend! We had a great afternoon and would highly recommend booking this tour. 10/10

Incredible journey through the Gruto Natal and Algar do Carvão, wear rain gear and hiking boots because the caves are wet and constantly humid and dripping with water 💧

It was an amazing tour from beginning to end. I loved the additional information provided by the guide as well. She gave excellent advice and provided history to the places we visited. Would definitely recommend!!

Absolutely unbelievable experience. We did the afternoon cave experience with Antonio as our guide. Great setup, jeep was so cool and well maintained, and the sights were unbelievable. Antonio clearly passionate for his job absolutely sealed the deal.

Antonio was great. It was raining so he took us to see some beautiful streams and small waterfalls before we went to the caves. I won't describe it because you have to experience it, words do not do it justice. Then he stopped at the "dark forest" on our way back. Intrigued? You should book the tour with them to find out. Well worth it.

Our guide Rui was amazing. His knowledge of the caves and his willingness to identify things of interest added so much more to the experience. We all agreed that it would not have been nearly as memorable without him.

Booked the cave tour on Expedia, easy, got the confirmation from Antonio and we were on our way!I thought we were only going to Algar do Carvao, but we first went to a small lava tube that is not on any maps, just a hole in a pasture, cool! Then we went to Gruta do Natal, another lava tube, again very cool. But the best was inside a volcano at Algar do Carvao, absolutely amazing,.! A must see. Then on the way Bach, we stopped at the sulphur holes. We were very happy with the whole experience and definitely would recommend Antonio.

Mybson and I had done a previous fishing trip with Antonio (also reviewed) and our family had one last day to fill before going home. It was raining and very foggy so we we pretty limited in what would be rewarding. I called up Antonio and asked him to surprise us with something fun. Yes, I trusted him that much that I know he would set up something cool for my daughter 11, son 14 and my wife. He didn’t disappoint! We did a half kilometre under ground in lava tubes, several cool hikes, and a 4X4 trip. The whole family loved it, Thanks my friend; very much appreciated!

We just got back from The Caves tour with our guide Patricia. She went out of her way to make the tour special, from a walk in “the haunted woods” to the main attraction caves (plus a smaller one that was off the beaten path). She was informative, her English was great (she even appreciated our not too funny puns), and she shared so much about local life and her family that we really wanted to invite ourselves over to her mom’s house for dinner!

An absolutely fascinating visit to both the Gruta da Natal and the Algar do Carvao. Very different types of caves, but both interesting in their own way. Definitely wear a jacket if you go in Algar do Carvao; lots of dripping water.
