It was amazing. We fed the elephants and gave them a mud bath. The elephants were treated kindly and it was run by a family and not a company

This was a great tour. We were in a small group of 7 that had excellent access to 3 elephants: Grandma, Mom and baby/daughter. We were able to feed, wash and walk with them under the expert guidance of the owners family. My wife and I really enjoyed it, as did all of the other guests. Well worth the price!

Had THE day of my life!!! I wanted to support a real ethical sanctuary and I was concerned of the traps for “ethical” places. I found the Care Pride Elephant Sanctuary on Viator and I couldn’t be happier with this choice! I was picked up at my hotel by a very nice van. We drove for 1,5hrs including a stop to get some fruit supplies (you don’t need to buy anything the guide gets everything needed). They only accept one small group per day and that already shows the respect to the animal’s energy. The Sanctuary has 3 female elephants, which are grandma, mama and baby girl. All super cute and happy! First we had a meet and greet, learned about elephants and how to feed them. Followed by a walk into the forest, where the elephants were leading and they were definitely not told what to do. When we came back some amazing local lunch was waiting for us. Later we enjoyed a mad bath with the elephants and a clean up bath at the river. All the staff were absolutely amazing, helpful and caring for the animals. Totally and highly recommend this activity!

From the start this was a great experience. The pickup was well organised and on time, the driver was polite and drove very well. We had a 15 minute stop at a local cafe to grab a drink whilst the driver went to the market to get fresh fruit for our lunch and for the elephants. We also got to meet our tour guide who was very friendly and informative even though he told us he was still in training. Once we got up to the Sanctuary I was very impressed with care and respect shown for the elephants. We got to feed the three elephants, follow them around a small forest area where they fed from the trees. After that we had a good lunch, after lunch we gave the elephants a mud bath followed by washing them in a creek. The experience was excellent and well worth the money I can’t recommend it high enough. Do make sure to take a change of clothes, a towel and some flip flops. Additionally make sure you have a clothes you can get mud on. This is a full day trip we left at 815 and got back to Chiang Mai at approximately 5pm

This experiment is one of the best experiences I have EVER had. The care for the visitors, the care for the elephants and the overall demeanor of the hosts made this an experience of a lifetime. It was exactly as advertised. We will be talking about our day with the elephants for the rest of our lives.

There are many elephant sanctuary tour options, however this one is truly the best. It’s a very full day with wonderful hosts. The love for these three elephants is evident. They are well cared for and treated with love and respect. It’s our second visit to this sanctuary. They limit the tours so that the elephants are not stressed, that is why you pay a little more than other tours. The value, your chance for hands on interact with both the elephants and the care takers is a true once in a lifetime opportunity.

Beautiful and amazing experience. I did a lot of research before booking with them and am so glad that I went with them. There were other less expensive places but the way this family cares and loves on the elephants while providing a memorable experience. They are on the elephants time and schedule, nothing is forced. I love it! Please don’t hesitate to book with them. They are informative, helpful, and the food is good too!!

I loved this elephant sanctuary. They truly care and treat their family of elephants so well. They have 3 generations of strong elephants currently at the sanctuary. They don’t do half day tours or large groups to entertain tourists as they follow a routine good for the elephants. They are the priority and are well taken care of. We loved our driver Coco, who introduced us to the elephants and sanctuary. We also loved our guide Maki who was kind, explained what to do with the elephants, was super patient with them and us as we had to hike up the mountain to exercise the elephants and also so they could eat roots, branches and more. The food was amazing! We loved how much attention to detail we had. It was a lot of food, so we shared it with the chickens and the fruits with the elephants. I would love to come back again and part of my heart stayed back with the elephants. Thank you so much for the experience of a lifetime

We had so much fun. Jojo the 13 month old baby is so funny. Mama elephant likes to sneak her trunk in your bag and help herself to sugar cane. Grandma moves slowly, but is so sweet and patient. The staff is constantly giving you information and answering questions and helping and encouraging you to interact with the elephants. You feed them, go on a walk with them, take a mud bath, and then bathe in the river. Lunch is eco friendly and tasty as you relax at the sanctuary. I can't recommend this experience enough.

Elephant pride sanctuary is without a doubt the best in all of Thailand. Worth a trip to Thailand all by itself. Not only does Chan Chai and his family run one of the only truly ethical elephant sanctuaries in Thailand, but you can tell they truly care for and love their elephants. My best memories from Thailand are from this sanctuary. They drive over an hour to pick everyone up in the morning, take you to their sanctuary, teach you how to correctly and safely interact with the elephants, you spend a few hours with the elephants, they feed you and then take you back. The value is out of this world and I would GLADLY pay more for this experience. We truly appreciate the family taking us in for a day and letting us make friends with these beautiful animals. Please do not hesitate to book and definitely don’t look any further when visiting an elephant sanctuary, Elephant Pride is the best on by far. The elephants do what they want to do, when they want to do it, no more, no less, and are very healthy. You can tell they are happy. At the time we went, they had 3 elephants on the property to interact with including baby jojo who is just so much fun to play with. My personal favorite was mama, the whole day she kept spending time with my girlfriend and I and I cannot wait to go back to see her one day. You will fall in love with not only the elephants but Chan chai and his family, what a fun, loving family . You can tell they really care about their elephants.

Best Day Ever. What a wonderful day from beginning to end. Treated like a member of the family including the elephant family. Greeted elephants, learned about grandma,Momma and baby JoJo. Fed, walked up a hill with elephants through jungle. (Sturdy sandals, sneakers suggested) Then lunch, mud bathing of elephants and ourselves 😍 🐘 Then on to the pond to rinse and fun play for all. 💦💦 This is a very ethnically, & loving environment. Small number of participants only once a day. 8 total gave us a very intimate experience. I hope to return again soon. 💕💕💕💕💕💕🐘🐘🐘

We had a wonderful time. As other reviews say, we also looked for an ‘ethical’ visit. Please remember these are domesticated animals and the staff will remind you of that. They would not survive in the wild. We saw the grandmother, mother and baby daughter. The staff were wonderful with the elephants and appears as though they really do care for them. They have plenty of space to roam around and are able to walk away at any point. Nothing appeared forced. No chains, sticks or hurtful behaviour seen. Really beautiful experience. Lunch was wonderful and the surroundings are beautiful. What was also lovely to see was how everything was sustainable from the farm land and its surroundings. I was unsure about going to see the elephants but so glad we went to the elephant pride sanctuary.

I went on 15/03/24 Amazing experience, really can’t recommend this enough. Everything from being picked up in the aircon in the van was excellent to the food also. The guides were very knowledgeable and their English was great. Swimming with the elephants was by far the highlight.

Yes this is more expensive than most elephant sanctuaries, but it’s 12 people maximum (there were 11 in our group) and you spend the whole day with the elephants. Whilst they clearly have a routine and there’s an element of coaxing with food, it was so nice to see them wandering around the jungle just being free to be elephants and take their time doing normal elephant stuff, and truly when they have had enough of a particular activity they are free to just walk off. I spent a lot of time trying to find something that let you interact with them without them having to perform on our time schedule and I really feel I got it right.
