Diego was an excellent guide. He had a lot of knowledge on the native plants and animals and he explained everything about the park. I totally recommend the half day tour, especially if you are in a rush and don’t have much time. Just in a few hours you can enjoy the beautiful park and learn a lot. As a bonus point, Diego also gave us recommendations for other things to do in Cuenca and around!

We had a fantastic time on a half-day trip from Cuenca to Cajas National Park. Our guide Ed was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and immediately tuned into our special interest in birds. The scenery was like something from the Lord of the Rings. Highly recommend Polylepis tours.

The landscape of Cajas National Park is amazing. Every place, every view is astonishing. The tourist guide from Polylepis, Wilson, is an expert of this area and he made this tour been exceptional. Cajas National Park is a mandatory stop for those who are in Cuenca city.

We did a tour in « las Cajas » with Edi! It was amazing, he picked us up at our hotel in Cuenca, was right on time. It was very interesting to walk through las Cajas with Edi because he knows a lot of things about the place and kindly shared his knowledge with us. He took us to a place for the lunch that was really good. It was an excellent tour and we thank him a lot for that.

Edy was an excellent guide and very knowledgable, not just about Cajas but about Cuenca’s history too. The route we did was beautiful without any other visitors and it has gorgeous views of different parts of the park. Would highly recommend!

I took the half day tour with Wilson a great guide to the cafas national Park in Cuenca. We took some beautiful fotos from up high and then did a walk at the lake lower down. I say lower down but we are still at altitude. It was a challenging and enjoyable walk with Wilson making sure everyone was ok. The peace and quiet on the walk was beautiful and the chance to see the endemic species was fantastic along with Wilson's understanding of them all. A great trip, long enough for me with the altitude.

Cajas National Park’s ecosystem is a must see. Our guide Diego made our trip amazing. His knowledge of the flora was exceptional. His knowledge of the area and the people as well as his general knowledge of world history added to our thorough enjoyment as it all blended together to explain the current state of the park and its development. The tour included a walk around a small section of the park but it gave us a good insight to the amazing beauty and diversity of this ecosystem. Make sure to pack light rain gear and wear good walking shoes. The weather changes constantly and the path is a rough path but not difficult to traverse.

For anyone who enjoys nature, this trip is a must! Our guide Edison was very knowledgeable and passionate about everything. He even went out of his way to drop us off at a restaurant at the end of the tour. Don’t forget your camera!

My family and I had the most fabulous tour of Cajas National Park with our guide Edison! He was absolutely wonderful - everything you'd want in a guide. He was full of incredibly informative information, and he really made the tour fun! He also did an incredible job taking us on our hike, and was very patient with our group who was very varied in age and hiking experience levels. The best part was when he helped us spot a toucan, and told us all about the different types of birds in the park! I would recommend this tour anytime, especially with Edison!

Edison Juca was our guide. He is excellent! My wife and I spent the morning with Edison and talked with him the entire trip. I'm interested in history, my wife is particularly interested in local flora. Edison's knowledge of both was greater than either of us expected. Easy recommendation for him. One of the highlights of our trip. Note: We hiked for two hours at ~13,000 feet. I'd advise acclimating to high altitude prior to visiting Cajas.

Enjoyed my trip with Edison to Cajas. Started with a beautiful drive from Cuenca with commentary from Edison on everything from the history of the city and info on animals, plants, and the land. Saw a pack of llamas blocking one of the car lanes. The park itself was breathtaking and otherworldly. Bit muddy following the a rainy spell but manageable with running shoes. Edison shared his knowledge of all flora and fauna during our 2 hour journey to 3 beautiful lakes and it added another dimension of enjoyment to the experience. Highly recommend going to Cajas and especially so with Polylepis Tours. P.S. Depending on your group makeup, physical capability, and apparel; they will tailor the tour to you!

Our Owner/Guide Eddie was the most knowledgeable and very accommodating. It got very rainy and cold during the tour, so he switched the tour to the lower forest area where it was much warmer, but just as spectacular views. We highly recommend recommend this tour!
