April 2024
This trip was made on the fly, and one that I was truly looking forward to. I was not disappointed. From booking through the actual experience, the organizers and team were hands-on and took care of me perfectly. On the day of, Luna was the guide of our small group of 3. I was traveling solo and was joined by a couple from Madrid. As I was traveling solo, I had a one-person kayak. With some recent previous kayak experience, I didn't anticipate an issue. I was a tad wrong. Haha. Within 10 minutes in the kayak, I tipped over twice. I had already donned a full wet suit (water temp in Almeria in April is quite cold, though aquamarine clear), and a life vest. Luna was close by and helped guide me back into the kayak. After some challenge keeping stable, though not tipping over a third time, Luna tethered my kayak to the back of her life vest. This way I was close by, within help's distance, able to maneuver the kayak on my own, and care-free. It worked. I did not tip over again, kept up with the group, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Highly recommended! For persons thinking of this trip from Almeria but do not have a rental car, do it! There are public buses from the main ALSA Almeria Bus Station. I took M-202 for only 3 Euros each way. And though the bus arrived one hour before the tour, and returned one hour after the tour, Cabo De Gata is a beautiful and sleepy beach town with cafes and restaurants to pass the time. Do this experience!

I had a fabulous time. It was a cold/mild day because it was April but the tour guide gave everyone a wet suit. He was very informative on how to properly hold your paddle and how to kayak properly. So i got the hang of it quickly. The views were spectacular and we stopped along the way and learnt about the history of the area. I saw some schools of fish when I snorkelled which was really pleasant. All in all was a great day. I don’t drive but I managed to get the m202 bus into La faquilla which runs every two hours.

The scenery is nice but not spectacular with homes, businesses, and military activity noticeable during the kayaking. The waters are beautiful, crystal clear blue, the snorkeling was not very special. Our guide Javi was very nice. The equipment was in good condition. BUT there was no bathroom nearby to use before the three hour trip.

Quite disappointed with this trip. Seas were calm but our paddle didn’t bare much resemblance to the photos here. We thought we’d paddle through grottos and see scenic beaches. We were told there’s be 3 stops but instead did 2 1/2. We didn’t get close to the “mermaid”. I understand this is a protected area with a yellow buoy marking the area you can’t enter, however, we were a long way from the yellow buoy and didn’t get to see much of anything. It felt a bit like the guides were phoning it in. Our English speaking guide was friendly enough, but that’s about all that can be said. The snorkel spot was just around the corner from where we departed. There wasn’t much to see there and yet we seemed to spend a lot of time there just standing on the beach. I think everyone was ready to go. But perhaps they had to fill the 3 hours. Wouldn’t recommend.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Highly recommend to everyone. I’ve never done kayaking before but will definitely go again. Guides were so knowledgeable and informative. From safety to local area. Everything you could want. Bargain price which included the kayaking, bottles of water, snorkelling, photos to remember your day and a sneaky beer when finished. Perfect day! 😁

Amazing trip we really enjoyed it. The area is really beautiful and Jason provided us with lots of information regarding how the area is protected and the history behind the area. Jason was a great guide. We would highly recommend this trip, you won’t be disappointed. You are really looked after and it’s really safe for families.

Fantastic trip. Spectacular views, one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. It took my breath away. I would definitely go again. The guides are very good, speak English- they made sure we were safe. Went with my husband and sons ages 12 and 14. They loved it. We had 2 kayaks. I’ve never done this before but it wasn’t difficult. I’d get there early and have a swim in the sea as parking is very difficult if you arrive later. Also you cannot arrive there by public transport- you need to hire a car or take a taxi. The taxi can be expensive depending on where you are staying. We were quoted 80 euros one way from El Toyo. We hired a car in the end.

We really enjoyed our kayaking trip. The guides were very friendly especially our English guide Jason. Kayaked along the coastline with stops telling us about the history and geology of the area. Stopped for snorkelling to see some small colourful fish.

Easy communication and easy to find. Car park at our starting point got busy later but we were on early kayak so easy parking for that. Kayaks were stable and easy to use. snorkelling was the best bit. Loved it. There were three of us so two had a double and one a single. Photos taken along the way. Would recommend

Really great time! Guides were super nice even tho we didn’t speak Spanish. Snorkelling was fine and just the right amount of kayaking that you didn’t get too tired. Make sure you go on a non windy day, otherwise activity is cancelled or rescheduled.

The experience was incredible, all parts of it, the guides were pretty good, we had few stops with a bit of history from Agua Amarga and a final stop for snorkeling. During the tour one of the guides showed us a jellyfish, that was very interesting. It was really unique experience, muchas gracias!
