Bogdan was a great guide. It Was a personal tour since I was the only one booked. I am so grateful they did not cancel. The tour was informative about the history and interesting. It also included a wonderful lunch. Bogdan was so nice, I highly recommend this tour. The max is 8, even with a group it is a great way to get to know Bucharest.

A neat trick to learn about the country you’re about to tour, is to arrive a day early and take a 4 hour walking food and culture tour, like the Bucharest Sights and Bites Discovery. But to get a wonderful docent is the magical charm. I give it 5 stars, especially as our guide was the incomparable Elena, who shared her country’s complex past and present (with a glimpse at its future) by allowing us to see it through her eyes, with the benefit of the experience, sparkling wit and wisdom of her people. She is emblematic of the soul of the long suffering Romanians, their brave and resilient humor - how they have triumphed in the face of adversity - a lesson to us all. We learned about the subtle secret message conveyed by the position of the horse’s tail in the equestrian statue of King Carol I, the monument known as the potato, the homage to the tortured man, etc. She answered all our questions and also gave us great recommendations in fluent English. We learned so much while walking through the streets, pasages and even an ancient caravansaray and thoroughly enjoying the moment. At the end of the walking tour, we sat down to a customizable three course meal of delicious Romanian specialties with a drink at a lively, historic restaurant. Try the local dishes like the mici, pronounced meesh (mixed sausage meat) or the sarmale (meat stuffed cabbage rolls)and do taste the decadent dessert called papanash. OMG. Brava, Elena! Multumesc!

We were treated with a 1 on 1 guided experience of Bucharest with Ioanna. She was extremely friendly and knowledgable, even putting up with my incessant questions every few minutes. The entire tour took around 5 hours including lunch, which she guided us through local Romanian foods that we wanted to try. Highly recommend this tour - worth every penny!

My husband and I were a bit hesitant when we first arrived in Bucharest and saw the communist-era buildings. However, when we joined our walking tour with Elena, she pulled back the concrete curtain and showed us the beating heart of the city. Her energy and passion was evident, and she brought the history of the place to life. There was another group with us for the walking tour, and we then had Elena to ourselves for a traditional lunch at Caru Cu Bere, a historic beer hall. She advised us on our itinerary for the rest of our trip in the countryside, and answered all of our questions. This was the perfect introduction to Romania! Highly recommend.

Wonderful tour, topped off with a delicious Romanian 3-course dinner. Our guide really brought the history of Bucharest to life. He was passionate about sharing past stories of the area and informing us what it's like to live here as a local. If you want a taste of local life, away from the normal tourist areas, this is the tour to book.

My mother and I did the Sights and Bites tour with Ioana and we would highly recommend it. The tour was well paced and we covered a lot of information. The three course traditional Romanian meal at the end was really good and kept us full for hours. Ioana was an excellent guide and great company. We learned so much about the city from her; in particular, interesting facts about the buildings. Plus a lot about food and culture. Even after the tour ended, Ioana gave us some useful tips for Bucharest plus links to further information. Thanks Ioana for a wonderful day in Bucharest! You’ve really left a positive view of the city in our minds :)

In our first visit to Bucharest, our tour guide, Dana, greeted us with a local pastry and described its significance. She showed us historic sites as well as hidden treasures as she explained the evolution of the city. We learned about the effects of communism on the Romanian people and the challenges they still face. Throughout the tour, Dana gave us a real sense of life in Romania. The tour ended with a delicious three-course meal in a local restaurant, where we enjoyed live music.

We had a very entertaining, interesting, and informative morning exploring Bucharest with our guide, Dana Toma. She brought the history of this amazing city to life for us while showing us so many important sites,. We especially enjoyed strolling through the quaint, narrow back streets of Old Town and stopping by a tiny hat shop where we met the hat maker himself! Dana also showed us a little jewelry shop with beautiful items handmade by the Roma people. She patiently let us browse while we picked out that perfect souvenir for ourselves! We also enjoyed a huge, delicious Romanian lunch at a charming restaurant complete with live music. During this time Dana was able to share with us what her life was like here. By the end of the tour, she felt like an old friend! Afterward, she even emailed us with suggestions for restaurants and things to do to enhance our visit. A big "thank you" to Dana for providing us with many memorable, heartfelt insights into her fascinating city and its special people!

We had Andrei as guide. He was insightfull, open and considerate. We walked through the old neighbourhoods and was told stories about them and the architecture. We had two food stops and the Mici at the last place was really good. Recomended.

Andra was an incredibly knowledgeable and friendly guide. Our four-hour tour of Bucharest's historic center flew by and was topped off with a delicious traditional Romanian lunch at a lovely garden restaurant. If you are looking for a beginners introduction to Romanian history and architecture, this is the tour for you.

Dana Toma was the best tour guide I’ve ever had and would highly recommend to anyone. I’ve done food tours in over 6 European countries and Dana is the best. She was very knowledgeable and very much aware of her audience. Enjoyed every minute of the tour.
