Antonio was great. He spoke English well and explained little details. I thought it was a great value and thoroughly enjoyed visiting both towns. I would say they are both “ must see”

Really informative trip, and unfortunately it rained a lot to start with so we did quite a bit of the “sightseeing” from the van (was great to a least see a few things). We got access to a few things that other visitors to churches didn’t (which was kind of cool). Lunch was nice - plenty of food (did not go hungry). All the places we went were cute and enjoyed walking around them (the sun came out in the afternoon). We didn’t get a huge amount of time at each stop (unsure if that was due to weather or not).

We booked this as a small group tour, up to 8 guests. Sergio picked us up and we were the only 2 people. We felt badly since we know that tips are an integral part of the guides income but Sergio seemed unfazed. The tour began with what seemed like an intimidating amount of steps leading up to Bom Jesus. Sergio convinced us to tackle the challenge and we made it to the top. We’re in our late 60s and would not have attempted this without Sergios encouragement! We spent the entire day touring these 2 amazing cities and visiting more churches than we’ve ever seen! The history, artistry, and opulence was intense. I personally learned more than I ever could have from a University college course. . Sergio was relaxed, serious and funny, incredibly knowledgeable, and made us feel like family. We stuffed our faces at a restaurant filled with locals and authentic Portuguese food. We would highly recommend this tour and Sergio!

Ricardo. Was a superb guide, one of the best we have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and we’ve been on a lot of tours. He was kind, patient, explained everything fully, and made sure our experience was great. I would highly recommend Ricardo for this or any tour that he does, it will be the best possible.

We had an excellent driver cum guide , Ricardo , who had access to parts of historical monuments which are not normally open to visitors. A wonderful experience !

Ricardo was an absolutely terrific guide. We had a week in Porto to explore various things, and it would have been great to have more time to wander around in either of the towns visited on this trip. But lacking that kind of time, being able to combine them into a day trip like this was a great option. Everything worked exactly as advertised. We were able to enjoy the high points of both places in a very well-orchestrated fashion. It was also the best lunch we have ever had in conjunction with a day trip like that.

We had an excellent time with Sergio! He was knowledgeable and we learned a lot about Braga and Guimaraes. He took us to a wonderful authentic restaurant, and we enjoyed an outstanding meal.

Our tour guide, Sergio, was very personable. He provided a concise history on Portugals establishment. The historic sites we visited were beautiful and amazing. Our lunch at a local restaurant in Guimarães was fabulous.

António was our tour guide and he was very personable and easy going. I would say the grounds at the Cathedral in Braga with the staircase was the highlight in Braga; the Palace in Guimarães was interesting and impressive, and the town itself was delightful.

Porto is picturesque in so many ways. We sailed down the Duoro River and back. We did a port tasting and a walking tour. Of course it is not the only must see in Portugal, but it would be a shame to visit the country and not experience Porto.

Our favorite part was our intimate lunch with our group in Guimaraes. It was just lovely! We had delicious Portuguese food and green wine! The towns of Braga and Gui are both so beautiful! The cathedral at Braga is stunning and so historic and we loved everything in Gui. Our guide Sergio was so knowledgeable and personable and we enjoyed him very much.

Silvia was a wonderful guide. So knowledgeable, friendly, fun. She made the day such a pleasure. She speaks 4 languages fluently.

Sylvia was above and beyond… a thorough professional. This tour was quite possibly the very best day tour I’ve had through Viator. It was incredibly well thought out. On-time pickup, brilliant guide with an intelligent and interesting commentary, excellent lunch and perfectly paced. I’m overwhelmed—in a good way!

This was a great day trip from Porto. The drive wasn’t far and the group was only 8 people. Pedro A was a great guide. He spoke mostly Spanish and Portuguese but I was able to pick up most of what he was saying. I actually enjoyed listening so that I can learn. He was kind enough to repeat anything I asked in English. The morning started out a little drizzly but eventually stopped. First stop was Braga and to Bom Jesus do Monte. And then some time around Old Town of Braga. We saw the old church with original wooden ceiling and a beautiful organ and area where they sometimes have a choir. Then it was off to lunch nearby at a cozy restaurant. Next we went to Guimarães which we learned about the old castle and history of Portugal’s first king. Then it was off to the old part of Guimarães to learn more history and we had free time to walk around. You will learn a lot if you go on this tour and you will be lucky if you get Pedro. Would highly recommend this to anyone.

Paid for English tour, but it was mostly in Portuguese. When the guide switched languages, it wasted time. Limited time to explore towns independently. Disappointing and underwhelming.

Guimarães- church, organ heard which is only played for Bishops at Easter ceremonies, and the village afterwards (church there as well)

Sergio was excellent. Even in the pouring rain the tour was excellent. He was very I formative and very concerned about us in the weather.

Our driver and guide Sergio was excellent! He provided a lot of background information about the towns we were to visit and the local history. Lunch in a taverna in Guimarães was very good - big portions, varied menu. Only downside was the uncooperative stormy weather, but Sergio handled everything very professionally. Would definitely recommend it.
