My wife and I enjoyed a fabulous day out from around the Bizkaia coast courtesy of Jose on Monday 15 April 2024. He kindly met us near our apartment in Bilboa. We visited San Juan de Gaztulegatxe (SJ de G), the lighthouses at Matxitxako, the beautiful seaside towns of Bermeo and Mandaka, as well as the historic town of Guernika. Jose was excellent. He provided useful insight and was great company. His English was very good as we spoke very little spanish. Jose recommended a Basque restaurant in Bermeo for lunch which was delicious and great value. Overall we thought that the trip was brilliant and an excellent way of getting to places that would otherwise require a lot of pre-planning. Thank you Jose for ensuring we had a wonderful day and for creating fond memories.

The sights on this tour just blew us away. Basque country is really something else. And my husband and I are so happy to have been on this tour with Jose as our guide. First of all, he knows the area and its history inside-out. We enjoyed learning about the culture and people and way of life from him. He took extra time to stop and show us everything we were interested in and went seamlessly from one place to the next without rushing anywhere. What is extra special is that he offered up front to take multiple pictures of me and my husband at the various places we visited and sent them to us. So great because otherwise we would have only had selfies. Also special because this was an anniversary trip. We hope to come back to the Basque country and explore more with Jose.

Great Experience!!! We booked two tours with Jose Luis in December 2022 (Route of the Coast and Walking Tour in Bilbao) and the experience with him was the highlight of our trip. Not only did we visit many beautiful places, but we also learned a lot from his knowledge and the passion and pride he has for his country. In addition to the tours and information provided, Jose Luis always looked for photo opportunities, which he sent to us immediately, that we took back as memories for that wonderful experience. But most important is how Jose Luis made us feel during our time with him. Immediately after meeting him, we felt as if we had known him forever. I can honestly say I feel I now have a good friend in Bilbao. Next time I am in Bilbao I will probably hire Jose Luis again but for sure I will invite him and his family to dinner.

Sometimes in your travels you run into something special, Bizkaia Maite Tours was one of them. Jose Louis, who runs this company together with his daughter, gave us a wonderful day in the Basque Country. He reacts quickly on messages, works in small groups (we were with only three persons), has an excellent knowledge of the region, with more than enough humor and that all within a good price quality ratio. La ruta es muy completa. José Luis es cercano, amable y lleva los tiempos muy controlados. Explica muy bien la historia y anécdotas de los lugares. Muy recomendable y para repetir.

Los momentos que más recuerdo fueron muchos! Es una experiencia inolvidable y única. Ir paso a paso y lograr subir los 243 escalones de San Juan de Gastelugatxe y llegar a la cima es algo maravilloso!. Vale la pena hacerlo! Y luego los pueblos de la Costa son muy bonitos. Bermeo, Mundaka y Guernika hay que conocerlos. Nuestro guía José Luis, hizo éste tour mucho mejor. Es un excelente guía, le gusta lo que hace, acompaña todo el tiempo la subida a la Ermita de San Juan de Gastelugatxe. En fin, tour muy recomendable!

El increíble e irreal paisaje de San Juan Gaesteluguatxe. Las fotos no le hacen toda la justicia al lugar hay que estar ahi, es de otro mundo casi. El guía José Luis es excelente, muy amable, conoce al dedill las historias de los lugares que visitamos, y lo más importante, te lleva sin prisas.

El mejor tour que hemos realizado nunca. La belleza de la costa de Bizkaia hacen de este tour el complemento ideal a nuestra visita a Bilbao.
