I’ve done a lot of traveling and been on dozens of tours, but this may be my favorite of all time. We had our14 year old grandson with us and Mike made 1963 come alive for him. What a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed the tour. The historical detail and commentary were great. Being and seeing over those three hours were much more educational than watching a documentary or reading a book.

This was one of the most informative tours I have ever been on. I would recommend it to anyone who loves learning about our history, even the dark side of our history.

The knowledge of the guide and the special visit by Dr. Drew. I should not be told I need add more. That has taken away from the experience.

This was by far one of the best historical tours we’ve ever taken in any city. Mike, our tour guide, born and raised in Birmingham, is the absolute most knowledgeable tour guide you’ll meet. He knew the history inside out and his delivery of the vast amount of information over the duration of the tour was pure storytelling magic, keeping us all engaged the entire time. We learned so much about a time in history we thought we knew about but it turns out, we really didn’t. I HIGHLY recommend this tour and hope you get Mike as your guide.

Clay is an excellent guide. He shares our history and is candid about the ugly. The tour is well planned. Saw sites I would not have made it to on my own. Nice combo of light walking and riding in his small bus. A must do.

Such a great tour of Birmingham and the Civil Rights Trail. Our guide ( I am so sorry but I have forgotten his name) was knowledgeable and thoughtful in how explained a very delicate and disturbing period of our history. He gave everyone on the tour time to ask questions and share their thoughts. I learned so much from him. Red Clay Tours is a family business owned by his son, Clay. They specialize in small group tours, and this was so helpful in making everyone feel welcome in our group. The best part is that they give a portion of their proceeds to feed and help the homeless that live in the area. We experienced this firsthand at one of our park stops where a homeless man ran up to say hello to him. He greeted him respectfully, and with great kindness. If you go to Birmingham this tour is a must, it was a wonderful experience for me, thank you!

This was an excellent tour! Mike, our guide, was so knowledgeable about the history of the Civil Rights movement in Birmingham. The tour took us to places we knew about, but many we did not and we all learned a lot about this painful but inspiration period of American History. I would highly recommend this tour!

The guide was extremely knowledgeable, well spoken and interesting. He answered all questions very well. No question stumped him. He went into amazing detail on all topics. This was probably the best Viator experience I've ever had, in the US and Europe.

Clay was fantastic! His breadth of knowledge as well as the presentation of this complex history was excellent and so informative. The tour was comprehensive since we drove to locations as well as visited, by walking, many sites as well.

Mike was an excellent guide. Having grown up in the area, he mixed personal knowledge with historic facts. There are two sides to every event and Mike did a great job of explaining actions - however unpleasant or unflattering of both sides. He was wonderful at laying out the facts of Birmingham and tying them into the national picture! It was a very good tour, small group, great guide, 100% worth doing.
