Chris, our guide, was fantastic! He was super kind and knowledgeable about the food and the area. He answered all of our questions and was very enthusiastic throughout. The food was truly amazing and I would go back to each place in heart beat.

My husband and I were lucky enough to stumble upon Spade & Palacio while searching food tour companies for our weekend trip to Montreal. We couldn't have been happier with our choice to go with this company and we couldn't have been put in better hands than we were with our tour guide Danny! Danny was so knowledgeable of this city that he so evidently loves--it comes through in his energy and enthusiasm. We learned so much about the rich culture of the city, about the art, about the people, and of course about the amazing culinary scene. Danny took us to enjoy papusas, cannoli, fine chocolate, artisan coffee, and we explored the amazing Jean Talon market and many of it's incredible vendors. It was truly the best time and it is also wonderful that Spade & Palacio keeps the groups small for the tours-- so nice to have a more intimate feeling! I truly believe that a food tour is a phenomenal way to explore a new city, but having a guide that also meets the vibe check and brings energy and fun to the experience--that is priceless! Danny made our time so fun and so memorable and we can't thank him enough for that. This is most definitely a must do for anyone looking for a fun and delicious way to explore Montreal.

My teenage son and I joined the walking food tour this past weekend and had an absolutely amazing experience!! Our tour guide Chris was very interesting and knowledgeable. We got to try many authentic foods from local spots and learn about the culture of Montreal. I really enjoyed the market, trying fresh meats and cheeses, as well as sorbet. And visiting restaurants in the surrounding area. Thank you for a memorable afternoon!!

This was an incredible food tour, both in quality and quantity! We visited at least 8 different places, ranging from Salvadorian food to Sicilian desserts to coffee. We learned a lot about Montreal and the different cultures that make it unique. Our tour guide, Rodrigo, was excellent! If you have to choose one tour to do in Montreal, make it this one!

The food tour was one of the best we have done. There was so much food to try! And it was not touristy food, but rather what the locals eat. We tasted everything from pupusas from El Salvador to cannolis, sorbet, to local meats and cheeses. YUM! The whole family gave this tour a 10! Rodrigo was fantastic - gave us lots of information and was very social and engaging. He made the tour even better! We highly recommend this tour.

We had a wonderful experience. Danny was the BEST- informative, funny & just a wonderful ambassador for the city. What a difference it makes when the tour is by a local. All the food was amazing & what a variety! After the tour we went to a bakery Danny recommended, got baguettes & then back to the cheese booth he had taken us to earlier. Picked up some fruit as well & it was the perfect snack later that night. We also popped into one of the local shops Danny had pointed out while walking & my daughter got a print that will be a wonderful reminder of our trip.

After 3 day’s of a jam packed itinerary in Montreal (art galleries , a hockey game, a concert, touring old Montreal and the port) we had considered cancelling our pre booked Beyond the market tour to rest and recuperate for an afternoon. Boy are we glad we didn’t as we were the only two people that day and had a wonderful intimate tour with the charming Rodrigo or Rod as he likes to be called. He had a wonderful smile and pleasant disposition. He was very attentive and knowledgeable thru out the tour and we had a lovely afternoon. We purchased a few items for some of the establishments we visited to bring home as they were so good. We are so glad we went and recommended this tour to anyone that likes food and good company.

Outstanding food tour! We would never have found these interesting and delicious food spots without doing this tour. Danny, a Montreal native, was knowledgeable and fun. Kept us moving, eating and entertained. We sampled everything from fiddleheads and local goat cheese to Italian cannolis and Salvadorian pupusas. Great way to explore a less touristy and culturally rich area of Montreal. Highly recommend!

Hello! Last Saturday, I took the gastronomic tour of Marché Jean Talon and Little Italy with Danny from Spade et Palacio. It was a wonderful and incredible experience. A wonderful discovery. We sampled Salvadoran dishes, a milk and cinnamon drink, Italian pastries, cannoli, Quebec cheeses, mushrooms, charcuterie, local meats and coffee. To round off this incredible tour, we visited a chocolate factory and had several tastings... Orange, milk and nut chocolates, to name but a few. The tour guide, Danny, has an encyclopedic knowledge of Montreal and its neighborhoods.... He told us the history of the cultural communities living near the Marché Jean Talon, as well as the story of each product manufacturer we visited. It's a visit I highly recommend! An incredible experience to discover the flavors of Montreal. ADC

Pascal was an absolute gem, we enjoyed the Food Tour on a girls trip. He put so much attention into the little details, getting to know us and ensure we were having a great time. We had a friend on crutches and he checked on her often, making sure the pace was good.. The pupusa was our favorite but everything was amazing. Wonderful variety.

Enjoyed the tour overall, felt it provided great coverage of a variety of different places. I was definitely full by the end and not disappointed with any stops or recommendations. Pascoal was as friendly and helpful as can be. Overall though, I felt like compared to other tours I've been to, our guide wasn't as enthusiastic, funny, or passionate about the neighbourhood or the food, and was just going through the motions. We were also told by Danny the day before that he would be the one doing the tour.

What a great tour! Danny made this such a memorable trip - starting with El Salvadoran puposas, on to cannoli, then to Jean Talon Market where we had cheese, ice cream, spices, Syrian pita chips and dip, smoked meats, mushrooms and more. We next had Greek coffee and ended with a picnic in the park with friend chicken, biscuits, macaroni and cheese and more. Danny was a delight - giving us history along the way. Highly recommend this trip!

Pasquale, was our guide and provided an exceptional food tour including multiple tastings at restaurants, a coffee shop, and a sprawling farmer's market (the gelato was extraordinary!). This memorable experience concluded with an al fresco picnic for our group in a quiet and classic neighborhood park near Little Italy, Pasquale has a calm demeanor and an engaging personality which is complemented by his impressive historical knowledge of the places we visited and their respective culinary offerings. Great sense of humor as well. Highly recommend this fun tour and Pasquale in particular!

A great tour and introduction to the wide ranging food culture of the various immigrant communities of Montreal - and, of course, an introduction to the Marche Jean Tallon
