This was the second tour we did with this tour company. The tour coordinator Maria confirmed the guide details a day prior along with his contact number and pick up time. On the day of the tour, we were picked up by tour guide Zezva in a big Toyota car (we were 4 adults and 1 child).Zezva spoke very good english and was extremely patient throughout the day considering we were with a small 2.5 year old child. We started off our tour with a visit to KTW (Kakheti Traditionak Wine) factory and tried abt 6-7 types of wines.Initially we were offered 2-3 white wines and later abt the same number for red wines.I quite liked No.26 (red wine).Lastly we were also offered the famous Cha Cha which was extremely strong.Post this we were taken to a small traditional bakery shop to try Georgian bread which was quite nice.It was baked in a Tandoor (Indian version) and had salt mixed so you could eat it without any add-on’s.Post this we visited the monastery which had scenic views to capture pictures in its surroundings. After this we visited the town of Signagi from where we bought few local souvenirs (hand bags and carpets at reasonable bargains considering the off season). The tour ideally contains visits to 3 wine factories, however as we werent interested in visiting more wine factories after KTW, Zezva and the tour company were extremely accommodative to customise the tour.We wanted to visit the Funicular and the Chronicles of Georgia back in Tbilisi as it was our last day of trip and we hadn't covered that.We came back from Kakehti during the day itself so that we could capture few nice shots at the Chronicles before the sun sets. Overall a great day with Zezva and the tour company (Thanks to Maria too).I highly recommend their tour company for further sightseeing tours.

Our guide, Data was the highlight of the tour. He made us feel as if we are exploring the area with one of our local friends. Totally recommend the tour with him

We had only 4 days in Georgia and so happy that we booked this tour. Irakli , our guide has so much knowledge of the country and told us lots of personal stories that gave us a glimpse of Georgian life in the past and present. We got to try homemade sweets, brandy, wine and cheese along with the beautiful sights in Kakheti. Gareji was simply magical. The perfect tour for the curious traveler as Irakli was a bank of knowledge. I wish I hadn’t been so jet lagged and sleepy so I could ask more questions. Highly recommend! The day went by so fast.

We had a private tour from George which was one of the best tours we have ever done. George was a great tour guide - a safe driver, knowledgeable but not overbearing and even took the extra effort to make a special stop to see some old Soviet buildings after we said we were interested in Soviet architecture. The day is an excellent mix - we had the chance to try baking our own Georgian bread, did a wine tasting and saw the monastery. The wine tasting is particularly good - with a stunning location and the opportunity for one of the winemakers to talk us through the wines we were tasting and the winemaking process more generally. We highly recommend to others!

This was our second day with Zurab, so we already knew it was going to be a great day, but even then our expectations were blown away. We got to understand a lot about Georgian history and mythology, and Zurab's incredible sense of timing meant that we never felt rushed and got to see everything in detail. Thank you very much also to Maria for building such a great team! We can't wait to come back to Georgia!

For any private tour the most important part is to have the right guide. We were travelling with David - very passionate and knowledgeable young man, who made this day a wonderful experience. We appreciated his communicativeness, good spirit and knowledge. He helped us understand a lot about Georgia, far beyond the program of this trip. In this trip he perfectly navigated the itinerary helping us get to the right place at the right time.

Levan is a great guide. He speaks english fluently and can answer any questions you might have. David Gareja is an impressive work, which is visited at the time when the light hits it just right. Sighnaghi might just have the most lovely view in the world. I highly recommend taking the wine tasting option, which has you tasting excellent wines in one of the highest buildings in Sighnaghi. Getting to know some of the uniques wines of Georgia while enjoying the fantastic view was the highlight of my entire stay in Georgia.

Irakli is a walking encyclopaedia whilst being able to offer personal anecdotes about living in Georgia. We visited the David Gareji monastery, drove through the Khaketi desert and had an unforgettable wine tasting and lunch nearby. Finished a huge day of past and modern history in beautiful Signagi, surrounded by the Caucaus mountains. A must do! Thank you Irakli 🤩

The tour was memorable - our tour guide Iraqli (sorry if I misspelled his name) was wonderful; he took us to beautiful places in the Kakheti region & he was also knowledgable about the history of Georgia. He even bought us some bread, oranges & churchelli from family farm stores. Thank you Iraqli for your fantastic service & I wish you the best in life!!!

Irakli our guide - an encyclopedia of Georgian history gave us a comprehensive idea of the country’s interesting social political and cultural history Very safe and thoughtful driver and guide The monastery Goreji hike up to the tower gave us many photo ops and Irakli showed us the best spots. The city walls of Signagi and the Nino church were other highlights Amazing wine tasting at Khaketi Vineyards. Great Georgian food with a mix of spices and fresh produce is a delight to the palate. Lovely views

Another great offering from Real Georgia Tours. If you go ANYWHERE outside of Tbilisi (and of course you will), Kakheti should be in your top 3 destinations, no question. It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to, and I've been to 43 states in the USA and over 40 different countries. The Gareji monastery was definitely the architectural highlight. What a gem! We were hoping to do this tour with Giorgi (who led our Soviet Tbilisi tour), but he couldn't make it. In the end this totally worked out because Davit was great. (I don't want them getting competitive so I'll just say that I liked them equally). Davit is not a professional guide by his own admission, but he is extremely knowledgeable about Georgian history and did a great job showing us around. He was also very gracious and accommodating. We take a LOT of pictures, and he never once seemed annoyed. To the contrary, he would stop his car on a dime the moment we so much as hinted that we wanted to snap a picture. What Davit contributed most were wry and insightful observations into our tour destinations as sites of memory -- that is to say he explored the politics and cultural politics surrounding each of the locations we visited. To us, this was far more valuable than a never-ending litany of long-dead rulers and failed states. Note: If you're looking for a winery focused tour of Kakheti then this isn't the tour for you. We stopped at an awesome restaurant at the end of the tour and they had amazing wine, but we weren't directly in the winery drinking homemade qvevri. That said, I don't think you should pair a wine tour with a trip to the Gareji monastery, so it makes sense to me that the trip was organized like this.

Best of Kakheti tour was really the best of Kakheti! It was a wonderful trip organized by a great guide, Irakli! The monastery was beautiful and with Irakli we were able to learn more about it's history and religious customs. In Signagi, we got to walk the walls of the city and Irakli took us to a very tasty restaurant where we could try the local wine. We learned more about the wine making process from him and got the chance to stop at a local shop for some real Georgian sheep/goat cheese. We highly recommend this trip and Iraklli as the guide. He was really knowledgeable and friendly and willing to teach us more about the Georgian culture, customs, and history. He even went as far as to let us know after the trip what type of grasshopper we had found in Gareji and to give us food and local things to try for the rest of our trip.

What a superb tour, made all the better by our excellent tour guide Georgi ! What a total star. We are a family of four, two oldies, one young adult and a teen - not an easy group to keep happy. But Georgi handled us with ease, ensuring that we all had a truly wonderful day. Georgi was extremely knowledgeable and was able to interject throughout our day with the most interesting historical aspects and facts. Georgi is fluent in English and has a smashing sense of humour. It's worth pointing out that the minivan was spotless and the AC was working perfectly. On a hot day this is essential. After a leisurely wander around the David Gareja Monastery and a little climb up to the monks caved water supply...we were hot and hungry. This complex is located in the middle of Kakheti's semi desert landscape, so having a water bottle is a must. Georgi had pre booked a table for lunch at The Oasis Club, so when we arrived our table was waiting. I was impressed by this - very thoughtful and professional. Lunch was delicious and Georgi made sure to order a selection of dishes to enable us to sample the local cuisine. Next stop was the medieval Bodbe Monastery near the hilltop town of Signagi (City of Love). You can imagine the collective groans from the male members of our group..."Oh great just finished a monastery trip and now a nunnery! " Georgi had that covered too - Zip Lining! What a rush...male testosterone satisfied we proceeded with the rest of our trip. The Bodbe monastery was beautiful and a wander through the City of Love to Signangi's watchtowers provided amazing views of the Alazani valley. We ended with a wine tasting - great way to end a great day. I can't recommend this trip or Georgi highly enough - when we return we will be calling Real Georgia Tours to book another day trip and Georgi again. Top Tip - Pack a water bottle.

It was a very nice trip, well organized, full of beautiful landscapes and interesting sites. Irakli was a truly gifted guide, he had an encyclopedic knowledge of everything about Georgia and Caucasus area, was crazy friendly, so we really enjoyed time with him. You can ask him every question and he will replay and explain everything perfectly. He is a storyteller that you want to listen for hours. Kakheti is an intriguing region that you should visit during your time in Georgia, definitely!

One of the best choices we made during our travel in Georgia is to join a day tour. Well worth the penny as you get an awesome guide like Temo who explains the rich history of of the various sites. Special shout-out to Temo who arrived on time to pick us up at the hotel in his clean, well maintained MPV. Knowledgeable, well-mannered and fluent in English, he certainly can be credited for making the tour an enjoyable one.
