AMAZING!!!! This was my favorite tour in Rio and victor was the best guide and was fun to hike with as a safe climber that made me feel comfortable with something I’ve never done. Would recommend to anyone who loves to hike!

We loved this but DO NOT BE FOOLED! This is a VERY challenging hike. We are all in very good shape and we all thought it was hard. There is a portion towards the top where you put on climbing harnesses and use a rope. Many other areas include pulling yourself up with chain or using roots. Having said all that, it was worth the view at the top and the sense of accomplishment! Rafael was our guide and we felt completely safe and cared for the entire time. We saw monkeys, marmosets, and even a sloth! Bring bug spray, 2 liters of water per person, and lunch. Plan on keeping a change of clothes or a towel in the car. Our clothes were so dirty and sweaty that I thought about throwing them away. Communication on the part of the company was great. I highly recommend them!

This hike was challenging and amazing! Jalmin was an awesome guide and the views were unbelievable. Highly recommend!

I was a great hike. The views were fantastic. The most challenging part was go up and down the rock face with ropes. It’s definitely well worth it.

If you have the endurance for it, Pedra da Gavea was an awesome hike that has impressed my family and friends. Rafael is an amazing and supportive guide who coached me through where to place my feet and hands and also giving me a boost in certain parts as I am very short. He also took amazing pictures and stopped to take pictures when requested. This is one of my fave accomplishments in Rio.

Excellent hike. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made an excellent experience. The views from the top of the hike/mountain were incredible! Communication was very clear both beforehand and afterwards and it was a very smooth logistical process. Highly recommend this experience to others visiting Rio

Jalmir was a great tour guide. He helped us as much as needed, took great pictures of us, and answered all of our questions. The hike was amazing and views were great. Was a great experience and would recommend for any nature lover!

This is a fantastic hike! I did it with my 17-year old daughter. Jalmir was our guide and he was awesome. The hike is a great workout for 2+ hours but the views at the top are extraordinary. Definitely my favorite thing I’ve done in Rio so far.

Thiago was the best. Our safety was his top priority. It is obvious that he loves helping others conquer the mountain. Would highly recommend!

This tour took a full 8h. We were picked up by our excellent guide Thiago at 7:30am sharp. The drive was scenic and took roughly 30 mins. We then begun a 3.5km hike that covered around 750m in elevation gain. There were some difficult and slippery sections and the views were magic. We saw animals like monkeys and others along the way. It was hot but we mostly walked under tree cover. The views at the top were magnifient and our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

What a brilliant experience with a great guide in Eduardo! Challenging hike but a real accomplishment at the end, the best view of Rio! Eduardo really made our trip enjoyable with his knowledge and also captured some great photos for us to look back on! Recommend *****!

My husband and I decided to do this hike last minute on our honeymoon. We didn’t really know what we were getting into, and how hard it would be, but it was SO worth it. Be sure to bring plenty of water and some snacks. Our guide Paulo was fantastic, and kept motivating us to keep going but also gave us breaks when we needed it. I was nervous about the climbing portion since I’ve only ever climbed with auto belays in a gym, but Paulo was very knowledgeable and trustworthy. He was also very patient with us both climbing and hiking. He took time to explain plants, animals, culture, etc to us as we hiked. We were lucky and saw monkeys near the top of the trail, too. Paulo took tons of pictures for us at the top of the hike, which we really appreciated. He spoke very good English, so it was easy to ask questions and communicate while climbing. Im a fairly avid hiker, and it was one of the toughest hikes I’ve ever done, but I’m sure the extreme heat wave didn’t help. We would absolutely recommend this hike to anybody, especially with Paulo as a guide! I also have to give a shout-out to Alexis from Itaway Ecotours for messaging us through WhatsApp to keep us updated on what we needed, pickup times/locations, etc, it was very much appreciated!

Absolutely amazing - definitely a must go in Rio and the views are unreal. Bruno & Eduardo are top guys and really enjoyed the experience, hospitality and good times. PS - Eduardo takes some dope content and is a hero as Bruno says haha. A must do!

I was so excited about this experience, but my expectations were exceeded! I really enjoy the trail, the nature, the animals, and the nature. Climbing was the best part and the top of the mountain is priceless. Jalmir was excellent! Great guide and a really good company. Btw he knows the best spots for the best pictures :)

Thiago was an awesome guide! He is extremely knowledgeable of the trail and the beauty that surrounds Barra da Tijuca. His rock scrambling expertise got us up and down the trail with little to no effort. Would highly recommend if Thiago is your guide!

Amazing experience! Tough path and definitly need a good fit condition. I did it with almost no treking experience and really enjoy. Insane views. The guide Thiago was great, a lot of experience, fun a careful. Absolutely recomend, better with Thiago.

We had a fantastic morning hiking to the top of Pedra da Gavea. Our guide Thiago I must say was a legend- full of information about the local area where he grew up and helping us get through the trickier parts of the hike. Thiago also picked us up from our hotel which was very convenient. There’s some great spots on the way up to get cool pictures of the city of Rio. We stopped off on the way down at a beautiful waterfall to cool off aswell as it was a hot day. I’d highly recommend this to anyone that enjoys a hike to get the heart pumping! Obrigado Thiago…we’ll be back again for sure!🤝

This was one of the best experiences in Rio! First, our guide Thiago—was absolutely spectacular. He was professional, knowledgeable, confident, and encouraging. This hike is challenging, but so worth it! Thiago ensured our safe assent and descent from the climbing parts and he took extra care to make sure we had the best experience. He also gave us some fabulous recommendations for places to visit, eat and see for the remainder of our trip in Rio. 10/10 experience, highly recommend!

It was a pleasure to join the group and to meet so many nice people. Eduardo is a natural teacher and helped ease me into rock climbing, an activity I wish to pursue more in the future in part because of his influence. It was also a pleasure to meet and interact with Fernando who drove me to and from the trailhead as well as accompanied me on part of the hike. An experience on Pedra da Gavea is indeed life-changing.

Challenging but wonderful hike. Best part was overcoming my fears when rock climbing. Guide, Eduardo was very patient and professional.
