Explore the often troubled history of Berlin on a free walking tour, and see sites from the days of the Third Reich, the split between East and West, and the Reunification and hopes for the future. The free tour is the perfect way to familiarize yourself with the German capital, and takes in monuments such as the Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, and Checkpoint Charlie. Along the way, you will learn the story of Berlin, and discover what it’s like to live there today. Learn about Berlin’s humble beginnings as a small fishing village, to the strength of the Prussian Empire, through the dark Nazi era, and freedom from Soviet Rule. Pay your respects at the Holocaust Memorial, and see the site of the infamous Nazi book burnings. You will discover where the Luftwaffe HQ was located, and hear stories about how Checkpoint Charlie became the symbol of the Cold War. Walk down the beautiful Unter Den Linden boulevard to the Humboldt University, and much more. The exact route of each tour varies depending on your guide and weather conditions, but all explore the historic Mitte district, the first and most central borough of Berlin.

Guide never show up in the meeting point. We waist our time... tour operator never toke the phone... even if tour was free... our time is not free. Very very bad!!!
Very informative and fun tour!
The tour guide did not show up at all, approximately 8 people were waiting at the meeting point for half an hour. When we tried calling the company, we were unable to get through to anyone. Very frustrating.
So lernt man Berlin kennen
This is a tour I would strongly recommend to anyone who just arrives in Berlin and wishes to get an overview and in-sight of Berlin tourist attractions. The tour is most informative and entertaining. It covers lots of area of interest in 3.5 hours. You get to know Berlin well in a nut-shell. You can then come back and spend more time exploring your area of interest.
Our guide was superb. So much information and knowledge. Explained complicated history very well and our attention never flagged. We wouldn’t have for so much out of our trip to Berlin without this tour.
It was a great tour to have an idea of Berlin . The Guide Ben was really fantastic. He explained everything in a simple and interesting way. It was never annoying. It is perfect as first day trip to can decide after what you want visit in the follows days. 5 hours fast walking and enjoying the fantastic atmosphere and touristic site of Berlin. Thanks Ben!
tour is really about 4 hours. Tremendous amount of knowledge was provided by our guide, Miguel. Very animated guy!
Amazing guide, who clearly had a burning passion for telling stories about “his” town, in fact he was so glad to tell stories that the 2 1/2 hour walk ended up taking 4 1/2 hour. Amazing trip if you go hope to get Ben as your guide fabulous trip Bo and Victoria
Mike was an amazing guide - clearly super passionate about Berlin, having a slot of anecdotes up his sleeve. He's also a very warm and nice person and seeing Berlin with him was a great experience.
IL TUOR E' STATO MOLTO INTERESSANTE E LA GUIDA MOLTO PREPARATA E ANCHE SIMPATICA IO E MIA FIGLIA CI SIAMO TROVATE BENISSIMO
We enjoyed this walking tour immensely. Our guide Danielle was very knowledgeable, insightful and extremely engaging. We could have walked with him all day. We loved it so much, we are taking another different tour with him today.
The tour was supposed to be 2.5h. I booked with this company specifically as most tours in Berlin are 3h, and I wanted a shorter tour; however, the tour took over 4h. My friends and I left after 4h, and the tour was still ongoing. We had had enough and were hungry/tired by 4h of walking. The tour guide mumbled and spoke quietly which was difficult to hear, especially around the noisy streets. I would book with a different company or do a biking tour since everything in Berlin is somewhat far to walk to (about 15-20 from site to site). I understand this is a free tour, but my friends and I overheard other free walking tour guides on our walk and they sounded better; speaking louder, giving clear information about the sites/history/etc.
Interesting explanations about the principal monuments of Berlin Paul was an excellent guide
We got a pretty good understanding of the city and knew what and where we wanted to spend more time. I am so glad we did this on our first day. Our guide was very knowledgeable.
Zabi was a great guide! Very informative, very helpful, very friendly! Would definitely recommend!
Really enjoyed this walking tour . Daniel was an excellent guide .
Pipa gave a great tour of Berlin. Very informative, interesting and overall cool!
I would recommend this to everyone who´s comming to Berlin for the first time.
Mick was an amazing great guy full of nolage about the history of Berlin would highly recommend this to anyone thanks so much for a great experience.
