This was a fabulous experience from planning through the end when our fabulous guide Nolan took the time to text us lunch restaurant suggestions. We enjoyed an amazing 1/2 day experience with rock climbing and hiking/scrambling with myself, husband and 10 year old. Our guide Nolan was thoughtful, kind, funny and great with all of our skill levels. We were pushed to have fun and experience new things while we felt safe and taken care of. I would not hesitate to book with them again. In fact when we do come back to this area to visit we will book again. My very “stoic” son said multiple times out loud “ I love everything about this place”. Well done!

We had such a great time with our guide Taylor!!! My husband (45), my daughter (13), my son (10), and I (44) have never done any rock climbing. Taylor was so friendly, fun, and taught us all about knot-tying, climbing technique, and safety. He also told us funny and interesting anecdotes and history about the Park. Taylor set up two routes for us that were different and challenging - slab climbing and crack climbing. He was so patient helping us climb and we were all able to get to the top of the slab! I was so impressed with how he worked with our kids, who each had moments of uncertainty about the climb. Taylor even went up with our son to help him find the holds so that he could successfully get up to the ledge. I could go on and on about how wonderful, exciting, and fun our experience was with Taylor and Mojave Guides!!! Taylor went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time! Thank you Taylor! Cheers!

My daughter and myself had a fantastic time with Andrew. I would recommend him to anyone from very beginner to more advanced level. He made sure we get all support and encouragement we need to conquer the walls. He made us feel safe, well-protected, and challenged within our abilities. Andrew is just a great human being and was fun to have on this 4 hr. climbing adventure.

This was by far the highlight of my trip to Joshua Tree. I am not an experienced climber - as in, I have repelled like twice as a youngster, and have done indoor climbing only a handful of times - and this was perfect. I shared that I am pretty athletic and Murph picked out the perfect places to show me the ropes (pun intended. Also said ropes and all other safety equipment is adequately provided.) The first climb at The Chief was challenging, but doable, and Murph was encouraging and a great coach. I learned so much! And then - The Casm of Doom Scramble. If you want to feel like you’re in an Indiana Jones movie, make sure you do this run IT. WAS. AWESOME. Murph was such a fun guide; we started as acquaintances and left as friends, hugs and all when the time was through. Amazing experience. Authentic way to experience Joshua Tree. Murphy, our guide, was fun to be with, knowledgeable, chill and listened to our wishes and brought an experience that met our goals and wishes. He had our 14 and 11 year old sons totally engaged and he took time to educate them and give pro-tips vs. just doing everything for them. The climbs were challenging but safe and each of us felt successful and proud. Highly recommend. Felt personalized, not scripted.

We had an amazing half day climbing with Jay. He was communicative leading up to our trip, told us exactly where we could meet him and was there waiting for us when we arrived. We are both newer to climbing (right around 40yo and very active), and he found the perfect climbs for us to warm up, and be challenged. The best part for me was that Jay knew exactly when to push us a little harder and not let us give up when we couldn’t see the next steps. I would absolutely recommend climbing with Mojave Guides, and Jay.

Mason was an excellent guide! He adapted climbs and coaching according to our skill levels and age, 8-54. We would highly recommend this experience.

My wife and I are so glad we did this! We’re both in our mid-60s and in good shape. We had a blast. Our guide Mason was outstanding - knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. He well explained everything and allowed us to proceed at our own pace. We enjoyed every minute of the experience. It was well worth the cost. We heartily recommend it!

This was certainly one of the best experiences in my life. A mixture of fun, fear, adrenaline and fulfillment. Don’t need to be pro to do this! Murph was the best guide and teacher we could ask for and made the whole thing super fun, even though me and my partner are terrified of heights. Defiantly recommend this experience (if you can book with him, I highly recommend it). if you wanna try rock climbing, specially in Joshua Tree, this is the place!

I had the time of my life! It was a one on one lesson with me and Murphy. He geared it to my fitness level. It was my very first experience with climbing so I was definitely a beginner. I did 3 climbs and Murphy was very patient with me. Very encouraging. I had a great day.

My guide Joe is obviously a professional at rock climbing, and he was very patient in coaching me as a first timer to rock climbing. I was able to climb 3 different routes and successfully completed 2 of them. JTNP is indeed a world class rock climbing paradise, the view is spectacular.

Our guide, Murph, was knowledgeable, safe and awesome. Our 3 boys, 13 , 10 and 7 have little to no climbing experience. He encouraged them to go as far as they wanted to and keep it fun. Kids left the day saying it was the favorite part of the trip! Would highly recommend Mojave Guides!

We had the best time ever! Highly recommended!!! Our guide Matt was so nice, professional and fun! This was our first time doing rock climbing and we were able to climb to the top. If you worry if you can do it, we are not a huge athletic people so don’t worry. I’m not saying it’s easy and it’s definitely challenging but you will enjoy very much.

Murphy was an amazing guide! We all had a blast (2 middle aged adults and a 9 year old). We learned a lot and always felt safe. We all made it to the top!

It was so cool we got to do this just the two of us with a guide, we got a lot more climb time and personal attention. We learned a lot and loved it!

We spent a private full day with Matt and it was everything we could have hoped for. Our son is a budding climber and Matt was able to provide him with many learning opportunities as well as challenging climbs while also allowing my husband and I and our adult daughter excellent beginner options as well. We all did some rock climbing, balaying and repelling. When we needed a break from climbing he took us on a super adventurous tour of a chasm which was both amazing and challenging. He directed our son to a terrific traverse bouldering problem that we ended up revisiting multiple times in the following days until he was able to accomplish it. All in all well worth it! We all felt safe the entire time. Highly recommend even if you’ve never set foot on a rock!

My 12 yo daughter and I did a morning climb. We are novices. Our guide did a great job of introducing us to climbing, while also challenging us. We felt safe the entire time. A great way to experience JTNP. If you’re considering this trip, go for it.

We decided somewhat last minute that we wanted to go rock climbing in Joshua Tree and booked a tour with Mojave Guides through Viator. I initially asked the company about whether someone with MS would be able to climb and was touched that Seth did the research and learned more about the disease to be able to fully answer the question. Our family member with MS didn't end up attending, but the effort was so appreciated. We had an absolute BLAST climbing. Murphy was a wonderful guide that accommodated our climbing levels and preferences on a windy day. He was very funny, encouraging, and even taught one of our group to belay. He made sure everyone had a great time and answered every single question we had. Booking through Viator, I wasn't necessarily sure what to expect - I was absolutely thrilled with our experience. I would highly recommend Mojave Guides and Murphy. Climbing in Joshua Tree was such a unique way to experience the park and I am so grateful for the memories.
