This was a great tour, Gonzo was very knowledgeable about all the areas we went to and was very funny. I had been to Casco Viejo previously but it was so much better getting the history and stories of the places I’d seen. Panama Viejo was very interesting, the exhibits easy to understand and well curated and Gonzo was able to answer all my questions. Very enjoyable morning out.

If you take this tour and you are a group of two-four ask for Alex Marriott. He is a local, born and raised in Panama City and loves his country. He speaks English and Spanish. Panama Viejo was the first city and has many of the ruins still standing. I was amazed at how large the old city was. There is a church tower to climb and see the surrounding areas. Alex is full of historical knowledge of the ruins. There is a museum that is very good and air conditioned. Because we were two people and didn't have anything else planned, Alex took us to see Balboa( American area during canal construction and until 1999) and Allsbrook area and mall. Ate lunch at a local place in the mall. These two sites aren't normally on the tour. We bought him lunch. Then he took us to Casco Viejo. Took us to the church with the Gold Alter. Casco Viejo looks like the French Quarter in New Orleans. The French had a huge influence in this area. We went in the Canal museum which is absolutely amazing. (You will want to go back). We saw indigenous people dancing, making crafts you could buy and selling other items. There are plenty of chances to buy indigenous crafts. Saw the French Embassy. The US Embassy is north of Allbrook area but we didn't go there. Alex loves his city and will show you as little or as much as you want. Be sure to tip well. Thank you for this experience, Alex.

I highly recommend this tour. It is a must if you are visiting Panama and want to learn about its history and heritage. The experience is a lot better with a local as a guide. Jeronimo was very knowledgeable about Panama's history. You'll learn so much! So many beautiful hidden places that you won't miss.

Edwin picked us up on time and was very knowledgeable and engaging that the time just flew by. I felt like we got to experience parts of Panama City that I could never have found on my own. I would definitely recommend Edwin and this tour. Thanks for making Panama City come alive.

We were thankful that our operator was able to pick up from that far away as we were by the airport. Most other tours refuse to come all the way here. The pick up was perfect as it came as the hour as agreed. Giving us some time to get breakfast with no issue. We started with the historical town and the Casco viejo. Where he delivered an spiel about the town. (he normally starts in the ruins of the first town, because of our starting location we did the opposite) We wandered around the place, taking photos, etc. We also had time to purchase a few goodies there. The next part was a drive by of the new town with its skycrapers before heading to the ruins. Apart from the information from our guide, we arrived in time to get a full explanation from an expert of the historical center of the old ruins and a tour on the museum. The good side of the private tour is that we could make pauses for pit stops. We also had some hilarious time when my mother decided to make a question that baffled our guide but he recommended some books for more deeper information of the history of Panama. Which you can buy a few of them at the museum.

I can’t say enough great things about this tour and company. I was the only person who booked this day so it ended up being a private tour. Gonzo was super accommodating and really really knows his stuff when it comes to history, and he’s fun and engaging. I specifically booked this tour because it was only one of two tours that went to Panama Viejo, the original city ruins. I have been to Casco Viejo many times, but this was my first time taking an official tour. There were so many places I had previously walked by and I learned so many stories and so much more about the history. It was a great day! I will absolutely use Beautiful Tours Panama again when returning to Panama!

Our poor tour guide was ill when she picked us up, but still tried to give us our tour or send someone else to help us. As I was ill myself, I chose to cut the tour short. She is a very sweet, hard working young lady. I would definitely recommend her and your company to anyone,

We had a great time on this tour. Our guide was Andy and he was terrific. He was very chill and informative. I messed up and we went to the prescribed meeting place even though I had requested hotel pick up, which had Andy going to the business district, waiting around for us and then have to go through traffic again to meet us, but he was gracious, relaxed and cheerful. We went all through Casco Viejo, then through old Panama, which was super interesting. We learned a great deal about the old city and it was beautiful too. Then Andy took us to a wonderful place for lunch out in Amador and the meal and the views were outstanding. I would heartily recommend both the tour and Andy specifically.

Highly recommended. We had a travel snafu and asked at the last minute if we could switch our tour date. They were extremely accommodating. Our guide was outstanding and answered all our questions. While nearly all Panama tourists see the Canal, this tour should not be missed.

There was a European style city here in 1519 almost 100 years before Jamestown and it was destroyed by an English pirate! That and other surprises on this interesting tour. The cultural component included a visit to museum to see molas (type of textile art), Gulan Yalla vendors at street market and delicious lunch at a traditional fonda (restaurant). My guide Emma customized the tour to my interests and requests.

Our guide was Emma and our driver was Gonzalo. Both were extremely knowledgeable and gracious with good English skills. We had been on canal tours before and wanted instead a tour that focused on history and culture. This tour was very complete in that regard and provided an excellent background to ancient architecture, history and culture of Panama City. There is a lot of walking and the sidewalks are not the best but the pace was perfect for 5 guests in their 70's. We were lucky to be touring on a day that was overcast and breezy so the heat was not a problem. They took us to lunch at a place frequented by locals which we really enjoyed. Pick up and drop off were at our hotel.

We really enjoyed the tour. She spoke very good English and was very knowledgeable about the ruins we saw. We also learned about the local government and the lives of the locals. Had a good lunch and an ice cream “pick me up”. I feel like I have a friend in Panama. Thanks Anna PS. Take an umbrella this time of year it rains in the afternoon, but not for long.
