Being a coffee farmer for a day was an unforgettable experience! I was immersed in the rich culture and intricate process of coffee cultivation. The day started with a warm welcome from the local farmers, who shared their deep knowledge and passion for coffee production. I learned firsthand about the meticulous care that goes into growing and harvesting coffee beans, from tending to the plants to handpicking the ripe cherries. This activity allowed me to truly appreciate the labor of love behind every cup of coffee. I left with a deeper understanding of the journey from bean to cup and a heart full of gratitude for the opportunity to be a coffee farmer, if only for a day. I highly recommend this activity to anyone seeking a hands-on and enriching experience that celebrates the true essence of coffee culture. I guarantee you will not look at coffee the same way.

From beginning to end the tour was fantastic. Got to see some of the countryside outside Bogota on our way there - to include the cloud rainforest. Once we arrived the staff was amazing, the food was delicious, Karen (our guide) was so knowledgable and engaging, we learned so much about the entire process and went home with a suitcase full of coffee. Loved it!

Yvonne was fun and informative guide! The drive was amazing and day on the coffee farm exceeded our expectations. The local worker provided good insights into the full process and Yvonne did an amazing job translating this into English for us! Highly recommended!

In this trip you will get a great possibility to try and know how it is to be a farmer for a day on an organic farm surrounded with a beautiful view.

This was so informative! Worth every dollar…I had no idea how much work goes into a cup of coffee. Learned about the plants, their life cycle, the time to harvest, the types of roasts and why that matters, the types of ways to prepare coffee, etc. Great lunch too!

Our guide, Marcela (also the name of the owner of la Campesena), was phenomenal. The drive to and from the farm were full of beautiful vistas and we loved the stop to learn about the Paloma ecosystem (which we did on the way back because of weather). Karen hosted our farm experience, and she was funny, patient, and so great at passing on her knowledge and answering our questions. We did not visit during a harvest period, so the pickings were slim. I had been a little dubious when I booked this tour about what we would actually get to do at all this time of year and was super impressed with how much we could see and learn and do--there were even little coffee cherries that were late in ripening that we were able to practice picking. We are a family of 4 traveling with two teenage boys, and they actually enjoyed this whole experience, which is quite an accomplishment!

I had a great day with Karin at the coffee farm. I learnt a lot about what is good coffee and what considered to be a bad coffee. Also different processes of producing coffee and to processes also. Unfortunately there were not so much coffee berries to be picked as the picking season is already over but still I had a great time there at the farm. The breakfast and lunch was really nice also.

Farm is enjoyable. Food is great in Farm. The only issue is that this tour doesn’t offer pick up/drop off service.

It was a wonderful experience, the trip is very close to Bogotá and we spent relatively little time going to the location, compared to the times even within the city. The guides will explain to you the full experience of the coffee making from harvesting to preparing the cup of coffee. The views on the way are amazing and the "páramo" which is a ecosystem located above Bogotá and the cafetal is also worth a look. I am not sure how the harvesting occurrs off season but you should ask in advance (they told us that the harvest occurs during the dry months from November to about March)

I highly recommend this tour to anyone who like to drink and value their coffee and anyone who is interested in the production chain of coffee beans. The tour started at the hostel in la calanderia from where we were picked up by a bus on a 90 minutes drive up the mountain on to 3500 meter and on the other side down again. We arrived at the coffee Plantage where we were warmly welcomed by the owners and their dogs. We were introduced in to the planting of coffee trees, the collecting, peeling, fermenting, washing and drying process of coffee beans. There was good food, stunning views, a funny quiz and of course excellent coffee and time in nature. Good English and nice mangagemne by the carasmatic tour guide nick as well!

The tour was fantastic. Our guide, Nico, was very friendly and professional and made sure we were having a good time. It was clear that he had a great relationship with the coffee farm we visited. The time at the farm was very informative and we learned so much about how much work goes into our cup of coffee. It was a lot of fun picking the beans and the food they provided for both breakfast and lunch was very tasty. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone who is serious about their coffee.

Such a fun day! Our tour guide, Natalia, was patient and knowledgeable. Our tour group had a mix of English and Spanish speakers and she made sure both groups had translation during the tour. The breakfast and lunch at the farm were incredible and the farm guide, Karen, made the experience entertaining and educational. I feel confident that I will be able to improve my pour over.

I went with a group of work colleagues and it was a great way to spend the day learning about how coffee grows, gets dried and selected. It was a fun time outside of the city. We all speak Spanish.
