Had an absolutely amazing time! It was the first time I’ve ever done a food tour and it was great. I learnt so much more about local food then I would have on my own, plus Eduardo also gave us some great insight in to Mazatlan’s rich culture and history. Totally recommend taking this tour if you can and we will definitely take another when we come back.

I cannot say enough good things about this tour. It takes you to food trucks and other spots that a tourist would have a really hard time coming across on their own. Our guide, Maaike, was very knowledgeable giving us the history of these establishments, some of which are family owned spanning generations. Everywhere we went, the food was delicious and unique. Just a really great several hours spent learning about Mazatlan while enjoying great food.

Excellent food tour. I appreciate that Maaike knows the story of each street food vendor and restaurant/brewery we visited. I appreciate that she shared both their history and their personalities. She was also open to chatting about other subject that the group asked about.

Booking through flavor teller is a must when visiting Mazatlan. Maaike was our guide and we cannot recommend her or this tour enough. The food was incredible. I’m still thinking about the churros, and my partner and I even went back to a few spots in the subsequent days of our stay.

We were treated to a wonderful adventure traveling around in a tour truck, visiting food stands that have been in Mazatlan for two and three decades. Maaike infused her knowledge of the neighborhood and the cultural heritage of the area with special treats at every stop. A must to due tour to acquaint you with the downtown food scene and the local markets.

We did the Barrio Bites tour during our stop in Mazatlan on Holland America's Koningsdam during the last week of March. Eduardo took us to seven different places to experience authentic street food and restaurant-quality eats that I'd definitely return to in the future. We learned more about living and working in the city than any other tour I've been on. I highly recommend this tour - you're going to see, eat, drink, and experience things you'd never find on your own. Our guide Eduardo was great!

Eduardo was awesome we learned so much about the history of Mazatlan. Having 3 other couples from various parts made for a very enjoyable time. The local food vendors locals eat at were great too. We're very happy we chose this tour.

The tour was amazing and the guide Eduardo was so insightful and entertaining. Very knowledgeable about the city and the foods. I recommend doing the tour early in your trip to give you time to go back to the areas shown in the tour

Maaika was a wonderful guide, taking us to seven different tasting experiences. Places that we would never have happened upon if it wasn’t for her. Everything we ate was so tasty and plentiful. The small group made it very personalized. Will definitely sign up for more tours with Maaika on our return to Mazatlan.

There were five of us in our group and joined by just one other couple. We stopped at various places and had great food that we would have never tried on our own. Great history and stories we told by the operator. We were able to purchase additional fresh tortillas, fish and other treasures to eat after the tour. Had a wonderful day.

We went on the Barrio Bites tour with Eduardo. There were 4 couples on this tour, so it was the perfect size. A couple of places we stopped at were “carts” (not a permanent restaurant) and not places we world have ever found—or probably even tried on our own. The food was really good and the owners and workers were very friendly and accommodating. Although the tour is listed as “bites”, we were stuffed at the end.

The tour was so great with Wendy. She was extremely knowledgeable about Mazatlan history and culture. I had the best day with her and the food was amazing .

Great food, great city, great guide! We learned a lot about Mazatlan, explored areas we never would have found on our own, and tasted some amazing food!

This is the 2nd time we did this tour. The 1st one, we were only 3 family members. This time, we are 16 in the family. The experience was an eye opener to the family members and loved it. Maaike, as well as Eduardo, did a wonderful arrangement for us. Definitely worth it and highly recommendable. Each "Bite" is different for each other. That's why we mentioned this tour to our friends and recommend to them to do this tour if ever they will go to Mazatlan. Many thanks to these 2 guys. You rocked.....
