We had a wonderful balloon ride over Umbria. Beautiful scenery, entertaining pilot, nice breakfast and wine tour afterwards. Highly recommended!

WOW!!! I cannot wait to return to this majestic place. The hosts, Alya and Peter were super awesome and incredibly attentive and very accommodating. The accommodation was my home away from home. On our last day we had the balloon ride. My kids were scared at first, but at the capable hands and humor of Pilot Peter, were soon at ease. The most enjoyable and fantastic breakfast with wine tasting we have ever experienced. I cannot fault them anything. Thanks to Alya, Peter and their gorgeous sons for having us. Definitely going back for more!

Excellent day floating around Assisi area. Guide is the owner of the company and quite experienced at his craft. The views were worth the flight. Afterwards we went back to the owners property and enjoyed a tremendous breakfast with top of the line wines. If owner is reading this review I would explain total time for the trip including breakfast and tour. We enjoyed every minute but let people know it is an approximate 4 hour venture. The price might feel expensive at first but well worth it for the day. Thank you Peter, Roberto and staff.

An experience of a lifetime with the most professional crew. Wine and breakfast were equally wonderful.

I almost canceled several times out of anxiety. However, I could not have anticipated the ease of lifting up and watching the transport vehicle grow smaller beneath me. Was a slow ascent, like a child’s balloon drifting upward. The day was glorious, the views were amazing and I felt prepared by our pilot. His transparent informative manner of educating us regarding the ways of the wind, the speed of travel, the altitude, etc. helped us feel that we were in expert hands. It was a delight to look across at Assisi and then later even far above it when he took us to the highest elevation. He pointed out several of the surrounding towns and answered all questions, including my curiosity regarding the fields of solar panels. The landing was pretty soft and we had been prepared for how to maneuver so I felt well cared for. Our brunch was in a lovely setting . At my table I met a family from Malta and was seated next to Peter, our pilot. Was a lively conversation! The opportunity to venture down to the barrels and hear about their wine production process was fascinating. And wow, that 40 euro bottle of wine…if I had room in my luggage I would have purchased several bottles. And I’m not generally much of a fan of wine. Best choice I made and stuck with. One of the high points of my trip.

The views were amazing! We took so many photos! Captain Pete is so experienced which puts you at ease with no fear! Met wonderful people from All over! The breakfast afterwards was a perfect ending to a beautiful morning balloon ride! It was at a beautiful winery served was Prosecco, fruit, assorted cheeses and meats with bread and tomatoes! Then comes the wine tasting then a tour of the winery! Just lovely!

Early morning start on a clear July morning in the beautiful Umbria countryside - the start of an amazing adventure. We watched as the huge, multi-coloured balloon was fully inflated and took off with Peter as our highly-skilled pilot. Flying low to start with so we touched the tops of the trees below and could hear the bird song, we soon rose to 6,500 feet to try and pick up a breeze. We could see for miles all around and Peter kept us all entertained, both with his anecdotes and with his knowledge of the country we were drifting over. With only a slight breeze, the flight ended up much longer than the hour originally planned, in fact we were airborne for nearly two whole hours. Picking an appropriate landing site in those conditions wasn’t easy and at one point the wind kept pushing us back over the motorway. Peter was an amazing pilot though and eventually found an empty field for a textbook landing. The excitement of the flight was followed by a delicious breakfast and wine tasting - wonderful Italian antipasti and fresh fruit. The entire experience couldn’t have been better and we could not have been in safer hands than with Peter. I would highly recommend this as an amazing all round experience

As is the family habit, the children bought us this as a combined present. What they get us is always great but they will be pushed to top this one! From beginning to end it was outstanding. Just approaching the balloon was an experience, the flight was so beautiful and the breakfast and wine tasting were amazing. As for Pilot Peter, he really made the day. His commentary was super entertaining and we landed like a feather. We also shared a table with him for breakfast where we covered a wide range of very interesting subjects. A day to remember!

My daughter and I added this trip to our Italian adventure and it was a highlight. Our driver picked us up exactly on time. The advent kept in touch with us and accommodated the dates of our stay in Assisi, the pilot was very entertaining and professional, the crew was hardworking and kind, and the views were breaking. After the flight we enjoyed a delicious breakfast and wine tasting at a lovely winery and cantina. Definitely worth it!

Pilot Pete and entire team were professional and fun. He explained everything before we did it and gave clear instructions. We had gorgeous weather which made for some wind challenges but he kept us entertained as we floated leisurely above the Umbrian Valley. We enjoyed volunteering to help snake-pack the massive balloon into it's bag, then a few of the guys helped hoist the basket onto the truck. It was fun to participate. The wine tasting at La Cantina Dionigibwas a nice finish to a truly wonderful and memorable experience/Adventure. Grazie mille!

There really is such thing as a perfect day. My husband and our two adult daughters had a once in a lifetime experience today. There are not enough positive words to describe how wonderful this was from the amazing team to the surreal views from the air and finally the wine, Honestly there are no words other than perfection.

Wonderful experience, even for those afraid of heights, the captain manages, with his sympathy and his charisma, to put you at ease. The breakfast in the cellar was also very pleasant.

This was by far one of the best experiences ive ever had. It was truly something special seeing so many beautiful things. The pilot was very cheerful and knowledgeable on the operation of the hot air balloon. Always felt safe and the views from the balloon are unparalleled. Unlike anything ive ever seen. Absolutely the best! We stayed on site in the wonderful apartment with infinity pool. The balloon ride was stellar. We glided over farm land and had Assisi I. The distance. Views were top notch And pete was so much fun with a great personality

The entire experience was wonderful. I definitely recommend Balloon Adventures Italy for a fun experience and a great way to see Umbria. It was an incredible experience with a very knowledgeable team. The booking process was simple, they were able to pick us up at our hotel because we didn’t have a car. Massimo, our driver was wonderful and we even stopped for a coffee (5:45am pick up) on the way. Peter and Ayla the business owners are amazing and very knowledgeable about the area. Peter is an excellent pilot with many years of experience which made the balloon ride very special. Afterwards we had breakfast and wine tasting at Cantina Dionigi with breathtaking views of the valley and great wines. Overall amazing experience!!!!!

Captain Pete is an experienced balloon captain with a wealth of knowledge about the region among other topics. I felt completely safe and secure, being a little nervous before the trip. He partners with a neighboring vineyard where we had an Italian breakfast overlooking a beautiful vineyard with wine samples. After breakfast we toured the wine cellar. We thoroughly enjoyed Captain Pete and the wonderful time we had!

This was truly one of those memories that we will carry home with us! From the first communication through the final farewell at breakfast, Captain Peter was affable and charming, and the entire team was organized, friendly and extremely professional. For a nervous first-timer, Captain Peter's demeanor of competence and welcome put us at ease from the first moment he walked up the hill to greet us. Watching the team work together, we witnessed a true working family - the regard and affection they had for each other was evident. Umbria from the air was an amazing, life changing view.
