We all had an absolute blast. The DR had a large amount of rain the day before our adventure so there was lots of mud and puddles which made it so much funner if you don't mind getting dirty. The crew was very nice and fun and very good about safety! We stopped at a little shop called The Jungle again very nice people selling souvenirs. When we are visiting in the DR we always use RV tours Rene takes good care of use and we love our driver Edgar!! Highly recommend this excursion and this tour company

After seeing the great reviews in TripAdvisor, I got in touch with Rene to book a private tour during our day trip off a cruise ship. Rene replied to me within minutes with a variety of itineraries that suited our needs. Rene was much more flexible and accommodating than any cruise tour offering, because we wanted both the cable car tour plus the ATV/buggies and a quick trip to town for shopping. He managed to get everything in during our 6 hour time limit. We were able to do more than the cruise tours allowed, in a private van instead of waiting on 50+ people. Rene provided a detailed map of where to find his tour guide (Edgar) which was easy to follow. Deposit was made with an easy PayPal payment and remainder was due at time of the tour. We started with the cable car tour. It was a busy day with 3 cruise ships in port, so it took us about 45 minutes to get on a cable car. Edgar warned us about the delay, but we chose to wait. The views were well worth it. The people at the top will help you get amazing pictures with Christ the Redeemer for a small tip. Line to come back down was a bit shorter. Then we drove to the dune buggies. The buggies were so much fun. We brought buffs to cover our faces for dust, but be aware you will be covered in mud splatter. Didn’t bother us, but bring sandals instead of runners if you don’t want to get them dirty. We stopped at the ocean for a quick dip before heading back. There are outdoor showers at the dune buggies entrance to wash off. Then Edgar took us to umbrella street, the pink alley and some local shops. It was the perfect itinerary for us, because the kids weren’t interested in a rum or cigar factory tour. Edgar had drinks, sofa and water for us in the van all day. Everything was expertly planned, Rene is extremely accommodating and easy to get in touch with, Edgar is knowledgeable and capable of leading tours and our family had an amazing time. We will most definitely use them again if we are in DR again and highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.

Rene is the best. He took in everything we wanted to do and made a private tour for us. We rode ATV's through town, had famous cocoa, my son was fascinated with the cigar rolling and my daughter took off chasing the sheep. We finished up with a nice horseback ride along the water. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! Thanks Rene! We will be back next week, we hope you're free!

Ww had such a great time, thier knowledge of the area was fantastic and we were able to choose what areas we wanted to see rather than sticking to the regular tour which was a big plus...we won't use anyone else but RV tours when we come to visit. We went to umbrella St, Plata Park, Rum tour, and even stopped for authentic lunch and walked the beach. Very pleased with their services.

When we contacted René from RV tours, he made us feel comfortable right away by answering all of our questions and concerns immediately. Once we docked at Taino Bay, he gave us easy instructions on where to meet our tour guide Edgar who was absolutely amazing! He made us feel safe from the moment we met him and also insured that all of our excursions were on schedule to insure we got back to the cruise ship on time. We had such a good time riding ATV’s, horseback riding, eating at a local restaurant, going to the shops, and going to the umbrella street. Best company to book an excursion while visiting Dominican Republic. Everything was amazing. Management, staff and the experience was great. They even take pictures and videos for you, to capture the the best parts of your excursion. Definitely will book again.

We actually did the buggie tour and it was awesome. A great way to spend the morning with two 19 year old boys. Rene has been a blessing to us. We were a little apprehensive about traveling outside of our resort but Rene's communication made all that go away. We did the city tour, the buggies and arranged for transportation back to the airport all with RV Transportation!

We had the absolute best experience on our tour from start to finish. During the planning process the tour operator, Rene, was a joy to work with and communication was easy. We were given perfect directions to find our driver, Yhonny, right outside the cruise terminal. It was about a 15 minute drive to the ATV’s. Alex and Danny, our guides, we’re waiting for our arrival. We each had our own ATV and they led us on a ride through the back roads outside Puerto Plata. We saw some beautiful scenery and they even took pictures of us and sent them to us at the end of the tour. We stopped to take a rest at a stand that had Dominican coffee samples and cigars. They took us to a beautiful private beach and on the way back we had a very tasty authentic pina colada in a pineapple at a local beach bar. We had an amazing experience and highly recommend this tour.

Unfortunately, we were never able to take this tour as our cruise ship cancelled our stop in DR at the last minute. However, as promised, my money was nearly immediately refunded by R.V Tours through Paypal. I didn't even have to ask! If you are worried about booking this trip while on a cruise ship, don't! This is an honest company who will do right. If/when I ever go back to the DR, I will book with them in a heartbreak. Have fun!

Our group of 8 arrived on a Carnival cruise to the Amber Cove Port. Edgar our private driver was waiting exactly where we were told he would be. Edgar greeted us and got us on our way to the excursion location. He was friendly and happy to talk to all of us, he had water and drinks available if we needed. Upon arriving everything for us was ready to go. We had a quick safety briefing and overview of how to operate the buggies and we were on our way with 2 guides. The buggies were quick and clean to begin with. The trail was great with bumps and water puddles we could zip though. About 2/3 though we stopped at a local beach where we could buy some food or drinks if we would like but more importantly, we were able to jump in the ocean and wash off. After the beach, we drove back to the starting point where Edgar was waiting and took us back to the port. He offered to stop at local shopping but we declined. If you dont want to get dirty stay away, you will be muddy. Everyone was friendly and communication prior to our day was amazing; very fast responses and clear communication. We will be booking another excursion with RV Tours if we port in Amber Cove again.

I booked a private ATV tour with RV Tours. The manager, Rene, was very responsive through WhatsApp, and I made my full payment to them through PayPal. Unfortunately, I had to cancel a week before due to a personal issue (not RV Tours fault). Rene was still very responsive and provided different itinerary options, but in the end I had to cancel. He immediately refunded my money in full without question. I wasn’t able to go on a tour with them, but I would trust them 100% just based on the great service provided by them.

Rene Robles / R.V. Private Tours (Manager) was super professional and punctual when communicating with him( phone and email). From the start he was always quick to respond to all our questions about our tour we booked. Unfortunately our ship had to detour to another port and we were unable to visit Beautiful Dominican Republic. The reason for this review primarily is he was most understanding to our detour and gave us a full refund immediately. It was nice to have that quick communication with him and be able to look for new excursions at our next port. Although we didn’t get to go on our tour based on customer service I believe they would have been amazing tour guides for our excursion. When ever I visit Puerto Plata I will definitely be contacting R.V. Private Tours to book our excursions. Thank you Rene.

When we travel we like to us the local companies vs. going through the cruise ship excursions so that we can have our cash go directly to the economy of the places we visit. Organizing our trip and communicating with Rene was easy. She was prompt and her kindness shined through the emails she sent. The price of our private tour was reasonable and fair. Both our driver and tour guide (Edgar) was friendly and shared information about the sites they showed us. The UTV's that we did were great. They even took pictures throughout the ride. We drove through an area where the islanders lived and the little children would wave and everyone smiled as we came through. It poured rain as we did our UTV's and that made it even more fun. If you want a tour that is easy to book and fun then this is the company to use!

We had two amazing tours with RV private Tours. Would give 10+ starts if possible. Francisco ( our tour guide)and Edgar (our driver) were great and made our 2 weeks stay at Puerto Plata even better. So accommodating, patient and ready to answer all the questions. No rush on our tour we had perfectly enough time for everything. First tour we did was Blue Lagune, we fell in love with every part of the tour. We enjoyed Dudu Lagune so much that we spent more then an hour at natural pool, caves, plantation, Green Lagune and great buffet lunch D'todo restaurant was great . City tour was amazing as well, rum factory, cigare factory, cathedral, fortress... cable car trip to Parque National Isabel de Torres was amazing. The nature is stunning. If you have small kids RV is perfect tour company , we were group of 7 including a year old baby and they were so accommodating. We will definitely continue touring with them on our next trip .

Great and easy company to work with. Setup everything in advance of my cruise, very professional and reliable as owner handled scheduling directly. We even had a last minute Port change and had no issues. Very friendly staff on tour and overall great experience. Family of 5 with teen's and had no issues driving the ATVs. Highly recommend this company for any DR activity. Owner even gifted me a couple cigars at the end and sent us family pictures of our tour.

Rene (R.V. Private Tours) is my go to for any excursions or transportation needs I have while I am visiting in the DR. I have used him before for several of my excursions and airport transportation. Rene's prices are very reasonable, he is very professional as well has his employees. They are always on time and very accommodating. We needed to make a stop to get some groceries before heading to the resort and the driver had no problem doing so. I would highly recommend them !! We had the pleasure of having Edgar as are driver for all our excursions and airport transfer, he is the bomb! The ATV excursion was a lot of fun this is our 2nd time doing it with them. The excursion guides were very friendly and took pics for us as well as answered any questions we had.

We booked ATVs & a separate tour of the city for 4. Our super friendly & knowledgeable guide, Edgar, took us on a personalized tour of the plaza, cigar, jewelry & local shops and historic points. We asked him to show us a local place for lunch & he took us to a fun fish shack on the beach where they made the BEST fried snapper & plantains. So Yummy! The ATV guides were friendly & professional and let us decide how fast/muddy we wanted to get— note: you’re not leaving without getting dirty, but all clothing items were restored. :) They took us up the mountain and showed us local artists carvings, cigar & coffee makers. Everyone was welcoming and the coffee is delicious. Definitely planning to go back. They speak English, but this Cubanita felt right at home. ☺️
