It is slight more expensive than some other day trip offerings to Ait Ben Haddou, but it is worth every penny if you are looking for a professionally organised, engaging and in-depth day tour led by a very knowledgeable and considerate guide who’s absolutely passionate about the local culture. Abdul is a class act, fully recommend!! 1. Abdul is very knowledgeable and answered all our questions with rich context in from history, geology, culture to local economy and produce. His wealth of knowledge and open-mindedness is impressive and his willingness to share demonstrated true passion in his native country and historical heritage, and we definitely benefited from it. 2. The day trip is very well planned, with breakfast and lunch with great view (lunch on a terrance overlooking Ait Ben Haddou is amazing), as well as refreshing tea/coffee break. At Ait Ben Haddou, we sat down with a Berber local for a nice chat, and Abdul facilitated the conversation professionally to translate whenever needed. Abdul went out of his way to stop at vista points for us to take photos and took great photos for us. For a big photography buff like me, it’s only usually possible to stop at those points if I drove myself Ina rental. 3. Abdul is very kind and drove very safely, we believe he might even have received defensive driving lesson. We are so lucky to have him as our guide and can only hope more visitors to benefit from his knowledge, passion, thoughtfulness and excellent service in their visits to Morrocco/ Marrakesh.

It might be slightly more expensive than some of the other trips on Viator, but you cannot go wrong with ElAlaoui if you are looking for an engaging, thoughtful and personalised experience to the mountains around Marrakesh and the famous Ait Ben Haddou. Absolutely a class act 5/5! 1. Our guide ElAlaoui, who’s open-minded and very knowledgeable and extremely passionate about the Berber, Morroccaine and Marrakesh local cultural heritage. He answered our question with context and detail, from economy of Morocco to the geology of the mountains, the local produce and history of Moorish people. 2. Very well paced itinerary for a one day trip. Apart from the breakfast and lunch with good food and nice view (lunch on shaded terrance facing Ait Ben Haddou), which are included in the package, there’s also tea/coffee breaks along the way to chat to chill and just to relax. We sat down with a Berber local to share mint tea and snacks at Ait Ben Haddou, and ElAlaou facilitated the conversation by translating whenever needed. 3. ElAlaoui drives very safely (it seems he might have received defensive driving training) in a good condition van. And for a big photograph buff like me, ElAlaoui stops at great view points for the group to take photo and he took photo for us as well. It is usually possible only when I drive a hired car to stop at nice view points along the way.

We had the pleasure of being guided by Abdulrahman who was knowledgeable, kind, considerate, and made the experience incredible for us. I was debating between a group tour vs this one and 100% feel this tour was worth it. It was well organized, well communicated, and we didn’t feel stressed or rushed at any of the stops. We had many photo opportunities in the mountains, and Abdulrahman took amazing photos of us at the stops as well! We felt comfortable to ask questions and learned so much. We definitely recommend this tour, especially for families! Ps having meals included was a huge convenience and everything was delicious!

Today was an amazing excursion to Ait Ben-Haddou!! Muhammad was my wonderful guide and driver. We stopped an hour after starting to have breakfast which was super delicious. We continued on through the High Atlas mountains and every twist and turn presented another video or snapshot! I could not stop taking pictures lol !!! We reached Ait Ben-Haddou and the guide there was excellent. Very knowledgeable, as he was a local, and helpful with photos. After the trek we came back to have lunch which was amazing. All in all it was a very exciting day and I will definitely take this tour again.

Mohammed was a brilliant tour guide, answering lots of questions about Amazigh culture and history along the way into the High Atlas Mountains. We were in a small group (of four), and the drive itself was very comfortable, with plenty of stops to take photos and have breakfast and lunch. Ait Benhaddou itself is not to be missed - I cannot recommend this tour highly enough!

We had an amazing time with our guide Abdul! Pick up was very easy, right near our Riad and the car was new and very comfortable. We stopped at many great vistas along the way and Abdul was an excellent photographer. He was very informative and entertaining during the drive. It was an amazing experience overall!

We took Atlas I couldn't recommend the tour enough to those who want to live and breath the Atlas Mountains to its fullest. Our guide, Mohamed, was a lovely, soft-spoken and knowledgeable guide who knows everything about the region, local culture and traditions to the last detail. He made our experience so pleasant as he shared interesting details about the mountains, its communities, local landmarks and their history. Starting early in the morning, our pick-up was hassle-free and ride was comfortable. Food and other amenities were generous and delicious. Unlike some of the other tours we had been, we never felt pestered in our interaction with local merchants, which we greatly appreciated. From timely photo stops to bio-breaks, everything was thought through. If you are unsure if paying a visit to Atlas Mountains is worth the effort and money, don't think twice! Learning about cultures that weaves daily life in Morocco as a Berber carpet is priceless. I hope you enjoy the tour as much as we have.

Our guide, Ismael, was very knowledgeable. He knows his history. He was very friendly. It was sad seeing the various villages that were impacted by the earthquake.

Love this tour! Surprised as i did not know i booked a private tour so that was great as i had hard time booking other tours as i was traveling alone. Abdul the tour guide and driver was amazing! Was very comfortable with his driving considering the many curves and loops u will go through enroute to Atlas mountains, gave good insights to places we saw and or passing through and took amazing pics! I would recommend this trip very highly, its going to be a 12 hr day tour maybe more if in a group. There was breakfast, an amazingly delicious lunch, and stop on the way back to the same place we had breakfast. Thank you Abdul and company!!!

This is surely the best Ait Ben Haddou tour available as it also goes off the beaten path to a lesser known but STUNNING kasbah, Telouet which completely blew my mind! Much preferred this option over the usual additional stop at the highly touristic Ouarzazate that all other tours seem to do. Mohammed is SO amazing, not only is he highly informative but kind, helpful, smart, funny, interesting and so hard working! Such a great man he is!! We absolutely love him to bits. And he is a super great driver. We were taken care of on all fronts and really enjoyed our time with him. He absolutely went above and beyond. THANK YOU MOHAMMED!

What an incredible experience! Mohammad was an amazing tour guide—making the trip both fun and educational. We learned so much about the Berber villages, the Atlas Mountains and more. Our small group is just in Morocco for 4 days and this is our first time in Africa. We're staying in riads in Marrakech, but this felt like the perfect way to see a bit more of the country outside of the city in the short time we're here. If you're coming in a peak summer month, it's HOT (obviously), but not unbearable (and that's coming from someone who prefers winter and doesn't like being hot). The hardest part was walking up to the top of Ait Ben Haddou in the sun, but Mohammad was wonderful, made sure we had water, and let us rest a few times in the shade to catch our breath before we began again. I recommend this trip to anyone who wants to explore more of what Morocco has to offer on their trip to Marrakech.

Great experience! Mohammed is a nice, knowledge, and flexible guide. Ain ben Haddou was unexpectedly closed, but he went out of his way to take us to the kasbah in Ouarzazate instead. Highly recommend.
