An amazing introduction to Argentinian food, culture and history. Thank you for answering all my questions! It was a pleasure to meet you guys!

International travel delays meant that we were unable to book a food tour until the night before. Fortunately, Francisco from Asado Adventure was able to knit together a half day (3-hour) Palermo walking food tour for six of us on short notice. We met our guide Josefina at Doña Tota restaurant, where football posters covered the walls and diners filled the tables, and she gave us a short introduction to morcillo, Argentinian beef, various garnishes, and the use of the “Pinguino” decanter to pour wine. Next, we wandered the Palermo neighbourhood to admire many of the brightly coloured murals, and to listen to Josefina’s explanations of the area’s history, architecture, and demographics. Our second food stop was at Alto Chori, where Josefina introduced us to three different types of Choripan. After more wandering, our final stop was at Antiche for some delicious gelato. Throughout the trip Josefina was knowledgeable, engaging, and fun, and we really enjoyed our short food tour with her. We also thought the tour was fairly priced.

Do yourself a favor and book this experience! This was the highlight of my trip to Argentina! Frank, originally from Chicago, IL, was very warm/welcoming and has such a beautiful and unique house in Palermo. Went for walk to get various ingredients for our lunch and the guide pointed out street art and historical facts. Really unique way to see the city and I learned a lot. After the street tour, we went back to Frank's house and he cooked us a fantastic lunch. Wine, cheeses, meats, etc. Everything was perfectly prepared. My friend and I made chimichurri sauce and candied nuts. Frank and his tour guide took photos of the entire experience and put together a photo book of the entire experience. Wow! So much more than just a lunch, a full authentic and unique experience and they truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time! Better than expected! Thank you so much!

Booking this experience was not an immediate yes since I was a solo traveler but Frank did everything he could and found 2 other people to join which I really appreciated! This experience exceeded my expectations. It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed the tour around Palermo, going to buy the meat, I loved the cheese and wine tasting, and the prepping of the chimichurri sauce. His home is absolutely beautiful and I’ll miss our second tour guide Palta who was so well behaved and affectionate. The food was unbelievable and I still think about it to this day. Everything was cooked to perfection by the chef and had so much flavor. Frank’s hospitality is 5 stars and I recommend anyone coming to Buenos Aires to do this tour.

"We had an amazing experience and a lot of fun! Frank and his trusted companion Palta were fantastic hosts. They showed us around Palermo Viejo, and we got to see some incredible street art while learning about the neighborhood's history. Frank even taught us how to prepare a delicious Chimichurri sauce. The highlight of our trip was the Asado feast. We had a five-star meal, and everything was absolutely delicious. It was definitely the best asado we've ever had!"

We had a very nice tour and experience with Frank at his home. After starting prepping things for the asado, we took a tour and shopping trip of the Palermo area. Upon returning to Frank's, we were treated to a fabulous grilled lunch. I had lived in Buenos Aires as a child and this brought back some great memories of asados I had back 60 years ago. It was really a great experience for me and my wife.

The perfect day experience in Buenos Aires … we simply cannot recommend this experience enough. Frank is not only welcoming and knowledgeable - by the end of the day he is the local friend you never knew you had. This is a food tour, neighbourhood tour, history and economic tour all rolled into one, topped off with great wine and food shared in Frank’s gorgeous home. We literally did not want to leave!

Frank was awesome! He’s thought of it all — from the greeting, to the framing of the tour with historically relevant information, the recipes and food, taking pictures for you so you don’t even have to remember that! Honestly, it was so well curated, high quality ingredients and programming and really felt like you were with a friend in BA than on a tour. As someone that’s traveled and done many guided tours, this one stood out and was exceptionally well executed.

AMAZING!! Frank was able to accommodate us within 24 hours. He welcomed us into his home and made us feel like it was ours. The street tour was an experience to remember. We learned fascinating history regarding street art and Buenos Aires itself.. We shopped and purchased meat from the butcher shop run by the famous Don Julio’s Restaurant. We enjoyed different types of wine at a local wine bar. We were able to help prep the meal as well creating a chimichurru sauce. We thoroughly enjoyed the superb dining experience in Frank’s courtyard served with wine. We could not secure reservations at Don Julio’s restaurant and believe dining at Frank’s with their brand (meat) was far superior when prepared by Frank’s grill master. Imagine trying Sweetbreads -Fernet - and Mate Tea for the first time and luving ALL. Frank took photos all along and sent them to us. I’ll stop now as there is too much to go on about…….. Do yourself a favor and book this tour

Jo was an absolutely amazing hostess! She knew so much history about BA but mixed it up with food and drinks to keep this jet-lagged girl engaged! She took us to the most amazing restaurant for empanadas! Jo went above and beyond to welcome us to BA!

This was one of the best experiences of our South American adventure. My husband and I spent the day with Frank learning about Asado style cooking. We did everything from lighting the fire, going out to buy the food and wine and the eating it. Frank was the perfect host and so knowledgeable about the different artists and places in his neighbourhood. If you get the chance you need to do this trip - it was amazing!! And his dog was a friend for life.

From start to finish, Frank made us feel at home and welcome. His knowledge of the local area/street artists/food and local customs is 2nd to none. He never rushed us at any point, he answered all our questions. The food was fresh and a good variety too. We tried local wines, after the wine tasting, we said to him, you choose. He made the selection, based on my wife's tastes and also mine. I know people say this, if you go here try this.....Well, we would genuinely recommend this tour, if you are ever in Buenos Aires. You will not be disappointed. Thanks to Frank, we will not be able to have a decent steak again, unless we come back to B/Aires. Thank you for a great tour A++++

Frank’s tour of Palermo is absolutely fantastic! He is so knowledgeable about the neighborhood, its history, street art, food, drink, and culture. Additionally, he has a beautiful home (and very cute pup for dog lovers!) that makes the entire parrillada experience a 10/10 for any tourist or even local. Highly, highly recommend to anyone visiting Buenos Aires.

This was an awesome way to spend a few hours in BA. Part walking tour, part cooking class and part lunch, this is an awesome tour. We did this at the end of our 3 week honeymoon - we were still learning things about BA, Argentine culture and cuisine, which was really fun/cool. Shouldn't short shift the star of the show, the food. Each dish matches/exceeds anything we had at a restaurant. Not by being showy, but by having the different dishes served at the perfect time, with the right sides, marinades, etc. This is also an excellent tour if you have a really short time in Argentina, a great way to try all sorts of Argentine food/drink that is otherwise somewhat inaccessible to tourists. Frank has really nailed how this is run; it's super smooth with the expert grill master and waitstaff and the setting is really charming.

This tour was recommended to me by several friends who live in Buenos Aires as the most authentic asado I could participate in . Frank is the consummate host, his home is stunning and his team super professional. The street art tour and the wine tasting were a wonderful lead up to one of the most amazing and enjoyable meals I have ever eaten. The combination of the tasty range of meats, wines, drinks--plus the enjoyable conversation with Frank and the other guests made it easily the top experience of my trip.

What a brilliant way to experience Buenos Aires! We were staying in Palermo so the walking tour was ideally located and, with limited time in the city, it was a really chilled and enjoyable way to experience some local traditions and parts of Palermo we would not have discovered. Agustin was a fantastically knowledgeable guide, with perfect English of course, and set the tone just right. We were two families travelling with two 14 year old boys and there was plenty to keep them engaged. The food tastings (more like full meals to be honest) were all fantastic and there was so much to eat! Superb wine tasting as well. Highly recommend the tour as a great way to combine food, culture and history.
