We had a wonderful time on this tour! It was exactly what we were looking for - a break from the hustle and bustle of the City in an absolutely gorgeous setting. Our guide, Tomas, was knowledgeable, a good communicator and was great with the children in our group. Our day started out with a quick stop at a coffee shop for some local treats. Then we headed off to the Walkways and Suspension Bridge. First we got the hardest part of the day out of the way by climbing the 500 steps to the top of the Walkways. Shortly afterwards we arrived at the Suspension bridge. After a brief introduction we were given the option of crossing the bridge. (You didn’t have to cross it or could turn around at any time if you changed your mind. I decided to cross it, my companion chose not to.) Crossing it was a thrilling experience! The view was impressive. When we got to the far side, they told us how the bridge was constructed. Then we crossed back and hiked along the rest of the walkways with a brief swim break halfway through. After our hike we stopped at a restaurant in the nearby village for a delicious meal. The scenery was Stunning! It was the most breathtaking and enjoyable hike we have been on in a very long time, perhaps ever. We highly recommend this tour!

This tour was fabulous. Joao was a great host. He was able to manage the small group well. We had both fit and inexperienced hikers and he made everyone comfortable.

We had such an amazing time on this tour! Francisco was our tour guide and he was AMAZING! He picked us up on time in a clean van, had amazing music and conversational skills, and communicated clearly with us throughout the entire day. He was hilarious and helpful and kind. The tour was so much fun, and the views were incredible! The hike is somewhat strenuous at the beginning only because there are a lot of stairs, but Francisco was willing to drive anyone who opted out of the stair climb. Our whole group opted in and then we walked across the bridge. It is scary at first but you feel very secure and safe on the bridge, which was constructed in 2021. After crossing the bridge you proceed to a beautiful walk along pathways and bridges overlooking the river and waterfall. We had a delicious lunch at a gorgeous location and made great friends along the way. Highly recommend this tour and Francisco if you are lucky enough to have him as your guide!

Had planned a trip to Portugal before Covid and finally made it. One of the planned excursions was the Arouca bridge. Spectacular adventure made extra special by our attentive guide Marko who went out of his way to be accommodating 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great day out of the city with João. He made sure we were comfortable and had enough water. He shared a lot of information about the area and trees that we did not know. We had a great group of people in our group. This made for a fantastic day. The suspension bridge was a blast and the walkway was beautiful. The lunch was very delicious and I really enjoyed the green wine. Thank you again to Joao for making our experience one to truly remember.

Had a wonderful experience with Marco as our guide. This is a must see if you ever get the chance to visit Portugal. The bridge is truly amazing. The lunch was a delicious meal that they provided at a wonderful restaurant in the mountains. Marco was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and I am very impressed with his diversity in languages. He went from English, to French and Spanish with such ease. Bravo Marco and the wonderful experience we had!.

My partner and I had an absolutely fantastic day with our guide, Francisco, and 6 other tour guests. Francisco picked us up in a clean, comfortable, air conditioned van. We had a quick exit out of Porto, stopping after a hour in the mountain town of Arouca for coffee and to sample Portuguese sweets. From there it was a short drive to the trail head. The trail itself is nothing less than spectacular with the suspension bridge being an additional adrenaline rush, amazing! We were given ample time to complete the hike while stopping to take as many photos as desired. At trail’s end is a little riverside cafe where we regrouped over refreshments before taking the van up the mountain to a beautiful little restaurant for lunch. We were served a mouthwatering lunch of fresh beef, roasted and grilled, potatoes, salad, homemade desserts, wine and coffee. There was more food than we were able to eat. Unlike some tours I have been on the restaurant did not skimp on quality or quantity! It was over lunch that our group had an opportunity to get to know each other a little better. Other than Francisco, we were a group of unilingual English, Spanish and Portuguese speakers. Thanks to Francisco’s excellent interpersonal skills we were able to overcome our language barriers to laugh and joke with each other. It was an excellent time! After our lengthy lunch Francisco delivered us safely back to our accommodations in Porto. A superb day!

The route along the Paiva River was spectacular. The atmosphere within the group was great, and the guides, Joao and Teresa, were very attentive. They took us before and after the hike to eat and taste local food, all of which were excellent. Highly recommended! As a note for other visitors there are many stairs, so it may not be suitable for everyone. 😊

This was a fabulous experience from start to finish. I’ve worked in the tourism industry for a long time now and I can honestly say that this was the most impressive and well run tour I have ever been on. We were given very clear joining instructions and arrived at our meeting point to meet the incredible Petito. He is an incredible tour guide and fabulous at his job. He has such a lovely warm manner and is an astonishing linguist. Two others joined at the same time- with Petito introducing us all- then we collected the other four guests- again, who were all introduced to us. The minibus was immaculately clean and after an hour, we stopped for coffee and cakes- included in the tour. Petito arranged to order all the drinks and we all sat together, chatting and getting to know each other. The tour was in English, but two Spanish guests also joined the tour and some group members- and Petito- spoke to them in Spanish, as they spoke no English. We then drove to Arouca, where we did the steps up. Petito was waiting at the top of the steps, taking lots of photos! We then did the walk over the suspension bridge, which was fabulous. The bridge guides were also excellent. Whilst we were walking across the bridge, Petito took the minibus to the end of the Paiva walkway and walked back to meet us. The whole walk was around 7 miles and was tiring, but not too onerous. At the end, Petito took lots of photos of us all. We then headed for lunch- also included. The food was incredible and plentiful and again, had lots of fun chatting to our new friends. I was fortunate enough to sit with Petito and he was a joy to chat to. We then headed back to Porto. That evening, Petito sent us all the photos he’d taken as well as a lovely message saying he’d really enjoyed his day. He also had given us all a bookmark when we left the restaurant. I appreciate it’s an expensive day out, but it really is the very best of tourism- small scale, sustainable and of a very high quality. I really, really recommend this trip and if you’re lucky enough to get Petito as a guide, you’ll have an amazing time.

We had a wonderful day. After we got over the climb to the top of the stairs the bridge was exhilarating!! And the trip down hill was exceptional. Waterfalls, beautiful trees, breathtaking views. Made the climb to the top so worth it. We had the best group and I'm sure the best guide, Francisco. He kept us laughing and was very knowledgeable about the area. Dinner was an added surprise. I did not realize we would be served such a delicious meal with appetizers, wine and dessert. On the ride back to Porto we all took a nap and Francisco delivered all home safe and happy.

It was indeed very exciting to be part of the tour. The guide was very helpful and assisting us always. Lunch arranged was excellent (as vegetarians, we felt we were taken care off very well). Thanks for arranging in a well organised way, taking care of our requirements

Excellent day out with a well thought programme. Tasty coffee break before walking over the bridge. Fabulous suspension bridge in the nature park with fascinating history. The walkways offered a nice walk (downwards, so not tough) in a luxurious nature. Then lunch in a nice restaurant with excellent tasty beef. Very nice and professional guide/driver. Highly recommended!
