We had such a wonderful morning on the canals with Jan today. The tour was stunning, small, super informative and very quiet at that time of day. Highly recommend this tour!

Excellent commentary and explanations by our captain. Thoroughly knowledgeable about the history of many sites along the canals.

I highly recommend this morning cruise with Captain Dave. He was informative, entertaining, friendly, accommodating, and professional. The ship itself is a historic gem. A small group of early risers and the quiet of the canals at this time of day made this tour memorable as we cruised in morning light and learned all about the history of the canals and the city itself. Coffee, tea, and a delicious sweet loaf bread was served. There was lots of time for photos and it was fun to meet others traveling. If possible, be sure Dave is your captain when you book. Surely his other tour guides are as wonderful as he is, but he is the owner of this vessel and has a deep personal history to Amsterdam.

We had an amazing early morning cruise. Our skipper was very friendly and informative. We really enjoyed talking to him and learning about Amsterdam and the Netherlands. The snack, coffee, and juice provided were delicious. We would highly recommend the early morning cruise. We had perfect weather to enjoy the views. The boat was lovely and comfortable. We appreciated the small size and non smoking aspect of the cruise.

Very enjoyable. The boat was lovely, and with only 12 passengers there was ample room for everyone to move around and take pictures. There was food and drink on offer if you wanted it, even wine but for us it was a little early in the morning. Jasper was extremely entertaining and knowledgeable, we really enjoyed our trip. I would highly recommend this.

Highly recommend this canal cruise! The information and sights were great! Loved the peacefulness on the canal in the morning but most of all, Captain Dave’s sense of humor had us all connected and laughing! Definitely a highlight of my trip!!

I booked this boat tour for my Mum & I last week. It was one of the highlights for both us by far! It surpassed my high expectations. It’s so tranquil at that time, and with such a small group on board, you feel like the canals are all yours to explore. Ample opportunities to take great pics, juice/hot drinks & sugar bread thoughtfully provided, and the boat is covered so it doesn’t matter if it rains. Captain Dave was a wonderful and warm host. It was such a joy to be shown around by a local, who knew a lot of the history. I’m so glad I booked this over boat tour options. It clearly looked better than more crowded and less intimate tours. I’ve gone on many boat tours in my life in different countries. This is one of the best I’ve been on. I highly recommend it to everyone! Book it, you won’t regret it!

We did the 8:00 cruise and it was such a treat! No other boats are on the water at that time which creates great photo opportunities. Captain Dave grew up in Amsterdam so he entertained us with many historical facts and points of interest. I highly recommend the early morning tour!

The captain of the boat was really -really-and I mean really good. Full of local facts and information and delivered in a most entertaining and enjoyable manor! The boat itself is an amazing collectible classic that could be in a museum, and it has history. Highly recommend this tour

We did the mid morning cruise on a Sunday. It was great! Dave is a native of Amsterdam and is informative and funny. We were 10 people in total and it was not crowded. The area where we met the boat was quieter than the Central area of Amsterdam. Lots of refreshments available (coffee, tea, wine etc.) and the sweet bread was very tasty. Would highly recommend Dave.

We loved our early morning canal ride. Captain Dave kept in contact and his boat arrived right on time. Our captain was Captain Tony and he was as friendly as he was informative. Our little continental breakfast of coffee, juice and sweetbread was the perfect way to start the morning. And, the ship itself was beautiful!!!

I’ve been on a canal boat tour before while in Amsterdam but, I had family members that had never been to Amsterdam with me and chose this boat tour(Captain Dave) This was the best experience ever. My family members are still talking about the great time we all had. It’s an old historic boat and the captain has a book about its history for everyone to see and you can purchase it if you’d like to. There’s snacks and drinks for free on board and blankets if it’s cold. The roof is closed if it’s cold and raining but if it’s sunny and warm the roof will be open. My family sat on the outside in the back of the boat and my teenage granddaughter and I sat inside. We were all happy. Do yourselves a favor and book this canal boat tour with Captain Dave. You won’t be disappointed 😊

Mornings cruising the canals truly are peaceful and I highly recommend waking up for it. Jan was the perfect host with interesting commentary that didn't overshadow the beautiful city. There were many interesting stories both about the city (John Adams!) and the people Jan knows who live there that added a lot of texture, local flavor and humor to the experience. Speaking of flavor, I'm craving dutch sugar bread again - what a nice treat while cruising. I would give six stars if I could because the tour was great but I feel like I need to add an extra star after Jan ran down the street to hand me my jacket that I had left behind. It's extremely clear that Captain Dave's tours are aiming for an delivering a top notch experience.

We went on the morning canal cruise leaving at 8 am. What a perfect way to see Amsterdam while the canals are quiet and before other boats are on the water. We had Captain Tony, who was amazing: courteous and full of fascinating stories and knowledge about Amsterdam. The boat is beautiful - a historic small vessel that is so much more charming than the large tourist boats you see everywhere.

Captain Dave was amazing and the overall experience was great! As soon as I pulled up in a taxi I explained I had a very tight layover timeframe. He immediately worked out a pickup time with the taxi driver to let him know a more opportune place to pick me up for getting me back to airport asap. Captain Dave shared lots of history as well as shared interesting facts and current happenings. He was very thoughtful and accommodating. For anyone wondering, there boat can be fully enclosed, he has a heater and blankets on board to protect against the elements. This was 100% worth it and so glad I took the risk leaving the airport to do this tour! Thanks Captain Dave for all of the laughs!
