Kent was a terrific guide. He really added a lot of information about the Amish and their culture. The three sites we visited - dairy farm, carriage shop, and a home experience were each interesting in their own right.

I searched for Amish county tours in ohio in google. And i purchased thru this app. Nowhere it mentioned the location of the tour. Since I bought within 24 hrs I couldn’t cancel. Lost all my money as we were expecting it to be in Ohio. Worst place to book tours from this app. I am going to recommend all my friends and families not to use this app at all.

It was an excellent experience for my family and me to visit Amish country on my birthday with our knowledgeable guide, Jeff. He was very friendly and provided us with a wealth of information. The trip was worth it, and we also purchased some cool souvenirs to take back home.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable. It was interesting to see the on-site one-room school and Amish residence. The bus tour was very interesting. I also enjoyed the stop at an Amish quilt and gift shop (where I bought a quillow).

The SuperSaver Package was perfect. We saw a movie-plus got a tour in a bus and got to view the grounds and see an Amish home. This is a must do if you're in Lancaster. Our tour guide was a great lady who answered all of our questions. She made everything fun.

We enjoyed the bus tour, especially since neither of us had to drive. Highlights were seeing the Amish schools, oldest Amish graveyard, the beautiful fields, and going to the roadside market. Bruce, our driver, was knowledgeable and friendly. The movie was well done. Touring the school and home were also enjoyable, and we learned some new things. We would recommend this tour to those coming to this area.

We visited here 11/25/2023 and did the bus tour, theatre show and tour. The bus tour was very informative and interesting. Our bus tour guide/driver was Bob and he was very good. He had lots of good info I did not know about the Amish and answered all of our questions. It was a good all around tour.

My friend was visiting from Scotland and wanted to now about the Amish so I scheduled the Tour. What a mistake. The bus driver just kept talking about which houses we passes that had home businesses and pointing out dawty (?) houses. No real information about the Amish or their customs. We were told there would be a stop with a bathroom. She stopped at a house with the garage door open. Minimum crafts (not greatly done) and no bathroom. The wife clearly did not expect us and didn't know the driver, as she had to explain the kickback to the drivers. (in front of us). My friend and I felt compelled to purchase something, as the wife was interrupted and had to come out to see to us. The driver did NOT like questions. She kept comparing the wonderful Lancaster Amish to the "bad" Amish in other places. (ie., they shun, Lancaster Amish never shun) We also wanted a tour that respected the Amish in the area. The driver slowed down to a stop to watch a man hitch up his horse. And slowed way down when we went by an Amish farm. It was embarrassing. The movie was ok. We had been told there was a 15 minute break between the movie and the tour. We followed the signs but ended up on the wrong side of the house apparently. She spoke very sharply to us because we had missed the beginning of the tour, even though we had been sitting on a bench near the house , the whole time. We followed the group and saw the bedrooms and kitchen. She didn't like answering questions and I am not sure her answers were completely correct. I had been told by some very lovely Amish friends, that they could only have fancy decorations on things that they needed - like calendars. Tour guide said they could have fancy things anywhere. We were hoping to see some new quilting shops or shops, but we did not. We thought we would learn more about their customs and practices, but we did not. Perhaps if we had had a different guide. The people in the ticket office were very nice. I do not recommend this tour. You will have better luck purchasing a book on the Amish and just doing a wander using the map in the Lancaster Guide.

Bill Ernhart was our host, guide and driver for the three aspects of the Amish Experience. The bus trip was very smooth and safe as well as very informative along the route. Bill had numerous stories and background explanations for the things we saw in the country side as we drove along. He also hosted the Jacob's Choice movie showing the struggles of a teen who has to choose between staying in the Amish Community or going out and take on the many aspects of the world and its demand for attention. Finally he did the walking tour of the Amish school and house, showing how they got along without outside power coming in from the grid and the typical day and dress of men and women up to this day. Would highly recommend Bill and all three parts of The Amish Experience in Bird in Hand, PA.

Having visited the area for many years, I had yet to take a tour truly educating about the AMISH. This was a great choice! Our guide on the bus tour was extremely informative, pleasant , and engaging. The 90 minute tour was perfect in length. The movie, Jacobs Choice was outstanding in helping us view the choices the Amish youth must make and the house tour was very authentic. As 4 seniors, I can not recommend this tour enough. I look forward to bringing my grandchildren back to this very family oriented experience.

My friend and I booked the SuperSaver package online before arriving in the Lancaster area. We received a few emails to confirm, and for information where to meet our tour. We arrived 15 minutes before our chosen time, and the two women at the ticket desk were very helpful, and very clear in explaining how our day would go. Our tour guide was Bob, who was patient, humorous and very knowledgable. He has lived in the area about 40 years and could explain so much with his first-hand experience living among the Amish. He took us on many small roads and he explained things we could’ve never picked up on just driving through the community on our own. We learned about their schools, their church service, how they cope to use power without connecting to public electricity on the power grid--look for the solar panels on small select roofs! There were stories about weddings and funerals. He pointed out their businesses ranging from cottage industries to dairy farms. They even farm deer! We toured a replica of a one room school and learned the Amish typically only go to grade 8 - however, many of them continue their own education by spending time in the library studying and reading on their own... they are very industrious! We learned a little bit about the origin of the Pennsylvania Dutch language used in their homes. It was fun to learn how practical, innovative, and hard working members of this culture are! We had one stop at Countryside Road Stand for about a 20 minute break. Nice place. I will give it a separate review. If you want to learn about the Amish lifestyle, this is a great way! I would not recommend this for small children, as I imagine that they would be very bored and restless and unable to relate to what was being said/shown. And,speaking as someone who has been to Lancaster many times, I thought that it was well worth it and very enjoyable.
