Carlitos was a fantastic guide! We saw and learned so much about Puerto Plata and the DR. Lunch was great, and they brought us all over seeing and tasting different things. Loved the cable car ride!

We booked the Eat, Drink & Be Merry tour because the excursions offered by the cruise ship didn't allow us the option of booking a tour exclusive to our family of 5. Once at port in Puerta Plata our wonderful tour guides "Alexander the Great" and "Mad Max" we're waiting for us. They went over the itinerary with us and assured use they were there to make our trip memorable; for us to sit back, relax and leave it to them. And from that moment on they called ahead to our destinations checking wait times and crowds and even adjusted our route so we didn't have to wait in long lines. My family was over the top pleased with this tour and the knowledge that Alexander shared with us about their beautiful island. I can't forget to mention the awesome driving skills of Mad Max and the wonderful lunch at Kaffe Restaurant. Also, Alexander is an awesome photographer and captured so many memories for us. Thank you guys both for an awesome experience. I highly recommend this tour and be sure to request Alexander the Great and Mad Max 😎

It was a awesome tour with a awesome tour guide! I was nervous at first because I didn't know much about this island because we have never been there for a visit. But they put our mind at ease and it was a wonderful tour!

Alexander the Great was our tour guide and he was so knowledgeable and accommodating! This was a well rounded tour to experience many area sites. Gorgeous views from the cable car and nature park. Many of the shops lay heavy on the sales so be prepared for that but you're in good hands with this tour guide!

Our guide Alexander the Great and our driver Mad Max were terrific. All parts of the excursion were memorable, including the cable car trip up the mountain, rum factory tour (with plenty of samples!), cigar making store and the fort area. The included lunch was very good. Last but not least, all the rum and cokes you can handle during the excursion!

Alex was an amazing tour guide! He took us to visit all of the highlights of Puerto Plata and also allowed us to add stops if we wanted. The tour ended up being just the 3 of us and lasted 6 hours--well worth the money! Don't hesitate, take this tour.

Our tour guides 'Alexander the Great' and Alfredo were excellent. We were the only couple on the tour which made it more personal. The weather was terrible which cancelled our trip to the top of the mountain. Cancelled by management for safety reasons. Just wondering if true. Other tourists on other tours did go up the mountain. The rum house and walk around the town square was nice. The chicken lunch at Kaffe was delicious. Would highly recommend it.

My sister and I had a good time on this tour. Carlos was a great tour guide for us. We visited sites that we would not have found on our own. The van was clean our group was small. We toured with a couple and they were friendly. The ride was smooth and they offered drinks and snacks. There were plenty of opportunities for great photos. We did the cable car, museum, rum tasting, lunch and cigar shop with a lesson and fun dance session at the end. I recommend this tour!

My family & I recently visited Amber Cove on Carnival Freedom. We really wanted to make the most out of the DR so we decided to do a private tour. This is the one! We had more fun than expected. Our tour guide Alejandro the Great was amazing & our driver Fernando kept us safe on the road. We appreciated them both. The van was very comfortable & had enough room for all of us. Company was very professional an accommodating. We will be cruising back to the DR in the future & will definitely book with Iguana Mama again! Again book this tour.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on the Eat, Drink and Be Merry Tour in Mid November. We wanted a tour that would allow us to see the beautiful sites and experience the culture of the Dominican Republic, and this tour was perfect! Alexander was our guide and Fernando was our driver and they both did an awesome job showing us around the Puerto Plata area. We were picked up right outside the entrance to Amber Cove. It was about a 15-20 minute walk from the cruise ship and very easy to find. They spent 5 hours showing us the highlights of the area including Mount Isabel de Torres, tour of Macorix House of Rum, visit of Fortaleza de San Felipe, eating a delicious lunch downtown and walking around the downtown area. We ended the day with a visit of the Espigon Cigar Factory. We had such a fun time and highly recommend this tour!

Alexander and driver mister “Indiana Jones” did everything to make our day a great day. Alexander knows Puerto Plata well and was eager to answer our questions. He knows a lot of people in Puerto Plata, which makes for a smooth and interesting tour with the inside scoop. Lunch was held in a quaint, cozy Dominican cafe away from tourists. Although a lot, the food was good. As promised, we were definitely not short on rum-cokes. We were encouraged to drink, as we’re “not driving” but said with a laugh. All in all, we had an amazing tour that we will remember for a long time.

We took this tour on our cruise stop in Puerto Plata. Edwin was our guide and Max our driver. We had a blast with them. Very interesting and beautiful stops, including cable car, rum factory, fort and different spots in town. Edwin was the nicest guy and knew a lot of the history of the area. The included lunch at a local restaurant was delicious as well. We would definitely recommend this tour.

We booked this tour through TripAdvisor as a shore excursion for our cruise. It was an amazing tour. Carlos was a wealth of knowledge and a great guide for all our locations! Max was an amazing driver. We had a great time and it was almost a private tour. We got back to our ship in plenty of time. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience! We loved it!

Our tour guide Alexander was very knowledgeable and friendly. He made us feel like family. We felt safe and secure the entire time together. His love of his country and its history is very apparent. He never rushed us and was a most gracious host. The rum distillery was fun and lunch was very tasty, with fresh ingredients. The cable car trip was the best, with his knowledge of the plants and allowing us to identify the fragrances of different leaves in the national park. Exceptional!

My husband and I took this tour and had a FANTASTIC day! Alexander the Great was such a great tour guide, bartender, all around FUN person and Indiana Jones was our fearless driver. We ended up being the only ones on this tour (other family canceled). We were a little tired in the beginning of the day, due to late niter on the cruise ship, but with the help of some delicious rum cocktails and Alexander's FUN we had such a great day! All of it. Tour guides Carlos and Maximo were outstanding!!! Lunch was a cute little cafe. It was very high class as if we were in someone's nice house.

Edwin was awesome. We wound up being the only couple in our trip and they did not cancel but took a us on a personal tour. Edwin seemed to know everyone and looked out for us every step of the way.

Alexander and our driver (AKA Jonny Depp) was the best! I had the best time on this tour with my son and friends! Definitely recommend

The tour was modified due to cable car maintenance as we drove up the mountain. Beautiful views from the mountain top and our tour guide, Carlos, took some very neat pictures of us. We visited the rum factory for rum sampling after the mountain visit. Amber Museum was the next stop before our lunch stop at a quaint restaurant. Carlos modified the tour at our request and our wonderful driver, Max, drove us safely back to the cruise ship. We had an enjoyable day.
