This was an awesome adventure through the backwoods of Dominican Republic. Our guide Alexander was wonderful. He took us to his village. We got to meet wonderful people along the way. We had a wonderful lunch prepared by a local woman on the beach. Alexander had great communication and customer service skills he made us feel very comfortable. Make sure that we all stuck together. It was a very small group of us in the hands on experience was great.

Fun day with amazing views, delicious lunch, and restful beach stop. Alexander The Great was our tour guide and he was wonderful! They took awesome pictures and videos and treated us with rum drinks!

This excursion was amazing. Alexander and his crew were able to show us the beautiful countryside of the DR. Luckily for us it had been raining that week and rained during our excursion, so we were covered head to toe in mud. We would not have wanted it any other way. The lunch and the private beach were an added bonus to the whole day.

This excursion completely surpassed our expectations!! We got to see farmlands, cattle, beaches, rivers, drive through towns and more. Teco beach is gorgeous and we had some of the best chicken we’ve ever had made with love by a local legend. All of our guides were really cool (shoutout to Sabino!) and took some awesome videos and pics of us. 10/10 We will definitely be coming back!

The lunch on the beach was the best part, the views and beach were great and the food was fantastic.

I was very disappointed of the tour. The ATV ride was mostly on dirt road with little sights to see. The tour guide said that we will ride through a river. The reality is that we rode through a puddle of water for less than 30 sec. The beach that we stop for lunch was full of seaweed and the water was murky because of its proximity to river mouth. Another individual rode alongside us and took pictures and video, but the package price was exorbitant not worth purchasing. I wish I didn’t book this tour.

Alex was an amazing guide and made several jokes. Just be prepared to get dirty. I would recommend wearing goggles because sunglasses didn’t help much. Most of the ride is on dirt roads. Lunch was actually a home cook meal which was delicious.Overall the ATV ride was great. You will also have time at the end to explore the shops at the port. My only complaint was when it was time to purchase the video clips and pictures. I felt that I was scammed,but I really wanted the footage. The photographer told me $60. When I went to checkout with someone else the price went to $77 because of taxes. Not sure what kind of taxes they charge.

I can’t say enough good things about this excursion! It was worth every peso! To start, Lidia was amazing and helpful during booking. She got back to me promptly and when some plans needed to change due to availability, she was there to make it seamless and easy— exactly what you want when you’re in another country booking excursions last minute! We got picked up on time by Diego (our driver) and Carlos (our guide). Y’all, Carlos was PHENOMENAL! He was charismatic, kind, helpful, and full of knowledge and personality. From start to finish, he made this excursion memorable and fun! On the way home, I asked him what the fruit was a lady was selling on the side of the road and he had Diego pull over, Carlos jumped out of the van and paid for some quenepas with his own money so we could try them. I mean it, he went above and beyond! It was just my boyfriend and I, so not overly crowded like some excursions. Our ATVs were very nice and clean. It was raining and Carlos made sure to check in with us to make sure we were still comfortable! We stopped at a lovely little spot to try handmade cigars, mamajuana (a portlike wine), hot chocolate, and coffee. We bought a little of everything and felt like it was very reasonably priced. We loved being able to give directly to people who lived in the area we were cursing through on our ATVs. Lunch was very casual by the beach and delicious- a true Dominican meal! It started to rain and everyone jumped to and helped us get to shelter. The rain passed quickly and we swam at the gorgeous beach for awhile before heading back! On the car ride home, Carlos kept the rum and cokes coming while also being very personable and keeping us laughing! He’s a truly, authentic soul! Excursions can be overwhelming sometimes but if we’re ever back in the Dominican, we will definitely book with Iguana Mama! They made this the best day we’ve had since we’ve been here! Couple additional details: Bring sunglasses for sure and face covering if you don’t want dirt in your teeth. Your bag for the beach goes with you so be prepared for that. Mine was not waterproof but also didn’t get dirty, even with the rain and puddles. Save room in your bag for purchases!

One of the best excursions my fiance and I have ever been on. We were originally a little nervous booking outside of the cruise line but it was completely safe and perfectly organized. The team was constantly aware if the time and we were never worried about getting back on time. The atvs were awesome and super easy to operate. All automatic. We were giving a quick safety talk then we were off through the beautiful scenery of the dominican republic. We stopped at many outlooks and beaches. Even got to see cigars hand rolled at a little shop on the road and had an amazing home cooked lunch on the beach. But riding the atv is definitely the highlight. We didn't putt along in 1st at 5 mph we actually got some speed and went through some muddy and dirty trails. We got to go through a river and some sandy areas. It was exciting but never felt in any danger or required too much skill. To top it all the guide alex was amazing. He was knowledgeable about the area and made the experience even better. Only 6 people on the tour and Alex made it feel like a private tour joking with us and keeping things fun and exciting. 100% recommend blue iguana tours and especially alex and his team!

My fiance and I had an amazing time on the atv excursion. Alex the tour guide was awesome. We rode to a spot to see people hand roll cigars and then to a beautiful beach. After that we drove through a small river to a little beach hang out where we had some delicious food. We then drove the atvs back to the bus to head back to port. Alex was very knowledgeable explaining local sights and views. The ride was exciting with some water to drive through and mostly dirt rode but never dangerous or super challenging. We weren't worried at all about getting back to the port on time as Alex and his team were always aware of the time. Over all a great experience with Alex and the iguana mamma team. Definitely book with them if you are in amber cove. A safe and almost certainly more exciting excursions than booking with the ship.

My family and I was recently on a cruise and booked this excursion for 12/7. It was the best thing we did our entire 7 day cruise. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the staff was extremely attentive, friendly, and fun! Carlos was our tour guide. The pictures and videos were also amazingly done. The lunch provided was delicious. I’m still thinking about how good the chicken was lol. This excursion was the best part of my birthday vacation. Thanks to all the staff.

We had a great experience on this tour. The ATV's were great and the staff was very good at making sure everyone was comfortable working the machines. They were exactly where they said they would be to pick us up. It was a bit of a walk down the pier and then through the cruise port shopping area. It is further than it looks to get out of the port area. They are not allowed to come in as a private tour operator so just keep that in mind. Our tour guide was Angel and he was so much fun. he was a great young man and made us all feel like family. Our group really enjoy the ATV ride and the beach lunch was fantastic. We got to swim in the ocean and then ride back along the beach across from the ships. Great day! Thank you to everyone.

Great job Angel!! We enjoyed this excursion while on our Carnival cruise port stop in Amber Cove. This was a great experience and we would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an excursion outside of the Carnival sponsored ones. Angel was a fantastic guide and was very accommodating throughout the excursion. He left everything up to us. Anytime we wanted to stop to take pictures, ask questions, etc, he was more than willing and made it feel like we were in control of our experience rather than feel like we were on a time schedule. This is a great way to see the Dominican countryside rather than just seeing the touristy parts. When stopping at the beach for lunch and a swim, he left it up to us when we wanted to eat and when we were ready to go back to the ship. Never once did we feel rushed and it was a truly relaxing experience. Angel even took pictures and video and Airdopped them to us so we could focus on the ride and not be worried about it ourselves. Thanks to Angel and the whole Iguana Mama crew for giving us a great experience! Definitely our favorite excursion of our whole cruise!

This tour is worth every penny. Robert was wonderful and a great guide through the local countryside of the beautiful Dominican Republic! The stop at the cigar factory was interesting and Mama Rosa's coffee is amazing! He let's you have fun and be adventurous on the ATVs and takes pictures of the group along the way so you don't miss a thing. We saw a man on donkey delivering milk, chickens and pigs on the roadside. He takes you to a spot locals go to enjoy the beach and to have lunch. One lady in our group even had plenty of time for a massage beachside from one of the local women and we had fabulous pineapple drinks. He called us Familia and we felt like Familia. After riding, touring cigar factory, eating and swimming we ride back through the countryside and end up on a sand beach where our cruise ship was across the water from us, I can't put into words how beautiful that sight was!!!! As if all that wasn't enough Robert served us yummy drinks on bus ride back to ship. Robert took 104 pictures for our group and a couple of videos and true to his word sent them all to us!! This is by far one of the best tours I've done and I've been alot of places, so thank you Robert from the bottom of my heart for your hospitality and sharing your beautiful Country with all of us.

A super fun and pleasant tour with Robert and Alvaro. Robert was our guide and he was wonderful. The stop in the cigar and coffee factory is superb. The fabrication of cigars while drinking al local coffee worth the visit. During the tour, we had a lot of fun and we loved learning about the Dominican culture. The beach where we had lunch was gorgeous and the food was delicious. This excursion is definitely a BEST. Ask the team Robert& Alvaro, they are great.

The ride is a cool glimpse into life near a port in the Dominican Republic. Very memorable experience and worthwhile if you do not have any other plans while at the port in Puerto Plata. The food for us was a bit dry and nothing special. But the beach time after eating is more important anyway, so enjoy!
