Our trip was great, we were picked up in our own private shuttle (8 of us) and taken to the waterfalls. There had been a significant amount of rain the day before, so we were not able to make one of the falls. I had been promised that with more water, we could do more than the 7 falls, and unfortunately, we only got to do 6. However, the experience was fun, the guides were great, and the trip was exceptional, from the guides to the food to the photos.

Mr. Rodriguez our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and ensured safety was key thoughout the entire experience! Water felt great the walk to get up to where we began the jumping and sliding! Very fun! Would go again! Also recommend waiting until a good rainstorm has been through the are to ensure waterfalls are flowing sufficiently.

We had a great day with Carlos. This is my second time going with Carlos and it was just as good. The park crew during the hike was so friendly and helpful. The guides made sure everyone was ok and moving ok during the hike. Our family appreciated that so much. The falls and jumps were very fun.

Highly recommend Iguana Mama! Great tour. Safe. Book here instead of through Carnival or other cruise lines. It's cheaper this way, you get lunch, rum drinks on the way home, and a better tour. They get you back in PLENTY of time so there is really no concern about that. We had an awesome time in the Dominican Republic at Damajagua waterfalls with Iguana Mama Shore Excursions. They pick you up right outside Amber Cove terminal. It's an easy walk outside to the left. Our family and our friends who were with us on the cruise were the ONLY ones on this private group. They speak perfect English and Spanish, so don't worry about that. It's about a 15 minute drive to the waterfall area. We did bring a backpack but left EVERYTHING in their van including phones and such. With this group, there is NO need to get a locker. Their driver stays with the van. Once you get there, go to the bathroom, then grab a helmet and lifevest. Iguana Mama gives you multiple water bottles. You don't need to bring any for the hike. With this group you wear ANY shoes you want. Carnival makes you rent the little water shoes. We wore tennis shoes, crocs, teva sandals, whatever. When you get there, you can also get a "picture/video" guide. It was about $45 I think. They have a guy that goes and takes videos and pictures of your group the whole time. We got one guy for 2 families. Ended up getting over 120 pictures and videos. Then just leave your phones in the van. Definitely recommend this. They take credit cards there so I didn't have to use cash. The hike was mostly a very good trail with stairs. It was easy for our group but we are in good shape. We could have honestly walked up without stopping. But there are other groups, and the large group stops 2 or 3 times going up. If you are overweight and take the elevator instead of the stairs on the cruise ship, this is probably not for you. We jumped off 12' and 18' waterfalls and also slid down some. I think the Carnival tours don't let you jump. If you don't want to jump, there are some where you can climb down a ladder and then go in the water. Other sections just have rock type, natural slides. The water is a little colder but not bad after walking up and especially if it's hot outside. There are also zip lines in this area. We didn't do that but you can hear them. After walking back from the waterfalls, they have a lunch buffet on site. For Iguana mama, this is INCLUDED. They have local + American food. They also have a bar. Once you are done eating, they drive you back and offer you rum drinks. Great time and definitely recommend it. If you're visiting the Dominican on a cruise or alone, it's a great time. We booked Iguana Mama from Trip advisor, instead of Carnival, but you could use their website as well.

Best day of our holiday, if you only have one day do the waterfall tour 😁 our guide Raffi was amazing! We didn't know it was going to be a private tour!

What an experience!! We booked this excursion without our cruise because we wanted to be able to jump off the waterfalls & if you book with the cruise they will not allow you to jump! We did this with our two teenage boys & they also had a great time. The ziplining was very cool!! We did end up purchasing a “photographer” for $70 and it was well worth it! We came home with pictures and videos we wouldn’t have had with our own phones! They serve you a fresh lunch after your tour as well & it was delish.

This was an absolutely incredible adventure. We first went down five zip lines, followed by multiple waterfall slides and waterfall jumps. Our tour guide was Raul and he was very patient and informative with our entire group that consisted of two adults and 4 teenagers. This is the same tour that the cruise ship takes you on, it is cheaper and you get done quicker by going directly through Viator. Our teenagers called this the best day of their life. It is a little strenuous for people who may not be in the best physical shape of their life.

Unhappy with inability to let family be together. We were separated at transportation to the site and not even allowed to sit at same table for lunch.

I booked this excursion through Viator. (Or you could book directly through Iguana Mama) After reading reviews, I booked this excursion instead of going through the cruise line. I’m glad I did! We followed the excursion directions and walked roughly 10 minutes through the port where our guide Raffy greeted us at the port exit where all the vehicles/taxis are located. Raffy held a sign so he was easy to find. My teenage daughter and I were the only two from our cruise who booked with Iguana Mama. So we had a personal excursion with just the two of us! Once we got to the 27 Falls, I agreed to pay $45 for our personal paparazzi photographer (there was no pressure to do it). Negro was awesome taking many pictures and videos of my daughter and I hiking to the top and then going down all the falls. Raffy, Negro, my daughter and I passed many cruise ship participants on the falls because their groups were so large. When we were done, we had a nice lunch at the falls. Raffy and his driver had us back to port in plenty of time to shop a few stores on our way back to the ship. It was a fun day! Note: I wore water shoes and my daughter wore sandals with straps (Tevas). Close-toed shoes are highly recommended because of walking in the water and on wet rocks. If you don’t have water shoes, you can rent them for $2. You definitely want shoes that aren’t slippery on wet rocks! The hike up to the top & sliding down the falls could be challenging for some people so if you’re extremely out of shape, I wouldn’t recommend this excursion.

Lots of waiting around in the van and the park once we got there. Once we got going, the hike was great and going down the river was awesome though. There were 2 jumps (about 12 and 20 feet high) and 2 natural water slides that we were given the chance to do. Our group was fairly small but we were merged in with a larger group for the tour. The guides were good and decent options for the lunch.

My husband and I had an amazing time with our guide Raphael and our cameraman Sandy! It was strenuous and thrilling adventure hiking through the jungle and making it to the waterfalls. Raphael was very attentive and made sure we knew what was happening every step off the way. Sandy also took amazing photos and videos as well as being encouraging along the steep hike. Totally recommend this activity for the adventure seekers!

Two couples that were signed up were unable to make it out of the ship port so it was just my wife and I. Carlos was a fantastic guide. I would highly recommend Iguana Mama to anyone who is unsure.

Bait and switch. Paid extra for a tour that would cover all 27 falls which this does not. In spite of advertising it that way. Lunch was the worst quality. Avoid this tour for sure and book the less expensive ones

So glad we booked this. The guides picked us up without issue. Plenty of time to walk from ship. They were all great! So accommodating and helpful. Upon arrival we were able to keep our bags on the bus, and then change when we got back. On the falls they were fun, kept the pace on hike easy (was a moderate hike) and did everything they could to ensure we all had a good time - and safe. We passed groups from our ship as we were coming DOWN. The ship group left same time we did and just arrived when we were coming back to starting point for lunch! And the ship groups were HUGE, no way it would be fun that way. Our group had only 10! Kudos to the whole team: Raul, Jordi, Richard! We did the extra $50 for our personal paparazzi to follow us, named Starlin. He was great and definitely worth it. No way to use your own and get those shots.

This was the best excursion! Our guide was Carlos and he took great care of us. The hike is not bad and we were given a lot of breaks along the way. We're so glad we opted for the photographer! Luigi took great shots! If you visit Amber Cove, book this excursion!
