Elvin was amazing! He is passionate about his country and it shows. Yes it’s a long day but well worth it. We took the first ferry out of San Pedro to Belize City and Elvin took it from there. He kept us on schedule and got us back just in time for the final ferry back. 💯 recommend.

It was a very long day but totally worth it. Our guide was fabulous, we had a group size of 8 (4 of us and 4 others). The guide was knowledgeable and took such great care of us. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a good mixture of history, exercise and adventure.

We booked a "Altun Ha & Cave tubing" tour with Upclose Belize as a shore excursion for a Royal Caribbean Cruise. One side note is that you need to be on an early ferry (tender) to the mainland from the ship if your tour is longer and have relatively tight time constraints; this can get challenging as our ship reserved the early ferries (tenders) for passengers taking excursions through Royal Caribbean first-we just cut in line to ensure that we were on the first ferry. Our tour guide for the day, Joey, was amazing. Not only did he have extensive knowledge of everywhere we went, but was was also incredibly diligent in keeping us moving along and on schedule (this tour does take about 6 hours as there is a lot of driving-but both sites are phenomenal and well worth the time and expense). Joey imparted a deep respect of his culture while also having a lot of fun and being very conversational along our journey. Upclose Belize and in particular, JOEY, made this shore excursion the favorite of the trip. The correct answer is JOEY!!!!!

Tarique took my cousin and I on two different tours and they were some of the best tours we have ever been on! He is a great guide who is very knowledgable and genuine. He even came out to have a drink with us for my cousins birthday. Awesome guy for one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you Tarique!

I think the most important part is a good tour guide and we had a great one in Tarique Domingo. He shared so much information on not only the sites but history on Belize, info on the plants and trees and a couple extra stops to check out some of the local fruit and foods. All the sites and activities were amazing and beautiful.

We had a bit of trouble finding our guide, at first. However, once we did, our tour was excellent! Jermaine was absolutely fantastic! We spent the day in a three person small group and he taught us tons about Belizean culture , Belizean life in cities and Towns, Easter and so much more. He answered all of my questions! When we got to Altun Ha, his degree in archaeology was evident! It was a great experience to tour with him. Zip lining and the cave tour were fun and the lunch spot was delicious! We really enjoyed our day with Jermaine and all that we learned!

Our adventure was everything and more. I’m still in awe of what we did and saw. Joey was an incredible guide and very knowledgeable. We loved hearing him talking about the local vegetation and the medicinal purposes.

Visit to the temple was a fantastic experience. The people who organized it, did a great job making us feel like a group of buddies. Overall 100% recommended

By far the most unprofessional tour operator I have ever experienced while traveling. First, I had to follow-up leading up to the trip consistently. They provided the wrong information (even though I made sure to call & keep in contact) - causing us to miss the 6:30am ferry. Kris' sister said "make it to the dock by 7:00am - we made it by 6:45am. The 6:30am ferry had already left. No one greeted us at the dock - once again I had to call again and ask what's going on. Why would you suggest a WRONG time and cause us to miss the necessary ferry? To rectify things they wanted us to take the 8:30am ferry out of San Pedro and "adjust" the tour. If a client pays for a certain tour, what makes you think we will pay the same amount for a similar shorter tour? Finally after the disappointment we decided not to do the tour. I was promised a seamless refund via phone call by Kris. That wasn't true. They have made it hell to get my money refunded for a tour we did not even attend. They first begged using the Covid 19 excuse, eventually they were very nasty and harassing me via email (I have all of the emails to prove it) saying that the client needs to hold some financial liability for basically their tour guide "they booked" and that we did not ever see or even use. The guest does not need to incur ANY costs due to your mistake. Kimberlee is incredibly unprofessional. Avoid this company at all costs - Kimberlee and Kris are a joke. It wasn't a "no show" as they want to claim. We were there, on the dock, late due to their wrong information given. Any other tour operator would agree the miscommunication that happened and refund the client accordingly. These people are scammers and will bait and switch you at the last minute, aside from the terrible follow-up and communication.

During our recent travels to Belize, we were fortunate to discover Up Close Belize through the hotel we stayed at on our first night. We had a positively wonderful time on the Cave Tubing, Zipline, and Altun Ha Temple tour with our guide, Joel. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the areas we traveled to as part of the tour as well as the many other Belize-related questions we asked him. He was a delight to spend the day with and learn from. Because we had such a positive experience with Joel, we booked our snorkeling trip (to Shark Ray Alley and Hol Chan on Ambergris Caye) as well as the Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM Cave) with Up Close Belize also. Our guide for the ATM Cave, Auner) was also fantastic. Overall, we were very pleased with the quality of the tours, tour guides, and communication with the company. We would highly recommend exploring Belize with the exceptional guides of Up Close Belize!

The tour we took did NOT include the zipline and we didn't expect it to. I didn't give the tour all 5 stars because the office support was poor. The guide, Joel, was beyond excellent. He was knowledgeable about sights along the road, Mayan culture and was able to answer all the questions we had.

Auner is the best tour guide! He was so knowledgeable about all things Belize! Kimberlee was great at replying and getting everything set up for us quickly and efficiently! Great company, and people!

We traveled from Caye Caulker to Belize City, where our guide, Kingsley, met us at the dock. Kingsley was knowledgeable and personable, and made the day quite enjoyable. The ruins were incredible, and the zip lining and cave tubing were fun. Well worth it!

Me And my two sisters were the only booking, so we got a little private tour! Joel had a ton of info, and kept the flow going all day. Highly recommend this tour if you want to knock out 3 adventures in a day:)

Great guide Aunar . Well versed in Mayan history and the details of the underground river. He also was up to date on the geopolitical issues that are facing Belize in the longstanding conflict with Guatemala. Very knowledgeable and balanced opinions, far beyond those expected of the usual tour guide. Zip line was a blast and excellent instructions on the safe use of the equipment. Altun Ha was hot but very interesting. The guide pointed out the locals that were illegally offering to take pictures with small monkeys. He said that it "Broke his heart to see people doing that." He said that the forestry depart of Belize only had 25 members to patrol the entire country. They had arrested some other people who were offering to take pictures with captive crocodiles the week before.
