We had an amazing 2 day trip visiting the Panlongshan and Simatai Great Wall. Justin was our guide and he ensured we had the authentic experience we wanted while hiking along the wall or visiting the Gubeikou Water, and later on while visiting the Summer Palace and Tiananmen Square . He also took care of all the arrangements with the hotel checking in and tickets along the way. Our driver was very good and we had a smoke free car, as requested . Both Justin and driver were very welcoming and friendly, very punctual and professional.

There were two wonderful tours with local guide Justin. We would like to thank you for all the experiences we had, from the delicious Chinese cuisine to the beautiful tour of the Forbidden City, full of ancient stories, which allowed us to get closer to the extraordinary Chinese culture. Our tour guide Kathy Zheng is professional and well prepared. Her narration was clear and interesting, we had such a good time going around Beijing with her. We could tell she has so much love for history and her country, and our family learnt so much from her. As for logistics, Kathy had all the tickets prepared which made entry to tourist attractions very smooth. We travelled with two elderly and a child. Kathy was thoughtful, and even managed to arrange for a wheelchair rental as my father had difficulties walking long distances during our tour to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. We really appreciate Kathy and recommend the tour to anyone who wants to visit the sites on the itinerary. The lunch places she brought us too were very local and we liked it very much. She even recommended other eateries near our hotels for us to try. Also thanks to Liu shifu and Lu shifu, they drove safely and were always punctual and considerate. Their vehicles were in good condition, very clean and well maintained. I would hire them again when I visit Beijing again in the future. Thanks Kathy and team!

Visiting Beijing’s Forbidden City, Summer Palace, and the Great Wall with family was an unforgettable experience. We are family 4 with two children 8 and 11. I came to Beijing for 1.5 days only to visit the sites. The tour was organised really well. Cindi was very knowledgeable and patient. We visited the Great Wall, summer palace, Tiananmen Square, mansion of prince Gung and the gardens that overlook the forbidden city. We also made a quick stop at the zoo to see the giant pandas! The cars were very comfortable and very accommodating to my schedule and requirements. Definitely recommend for tours in Beijing

We booked this tour only 4 days before the trip, so we didn't get the tickets to the Forbidden City. However, our 2 day itinerary covered the other key sights and we had a great time. Kathy Zheng was our guide and she provided in-depth historical details for every place we visited. Entering each tourist destination was seamless as Kathy had pre-booked all tickets. The restaurants she recommended in the Hutong and at the Great Wall (Mutianyu) were also authentic and tasty. Kathy was very kind and patient with our kids as well. Our driver, Mr Li, was very courteous, drove safely, and his Buick was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend booking a private tour with Catherine Lu's company.

Excellent service. We booked a 1.5 days private tour and visited all places in Beijing with tour guide Angel. Angel did an amazing job, pre-arranged everything for us and provided the perfect amount information for every place we visited. Very friendly and fun to be around with. Excellent job. We had a short 2 and a half day trip to Beijing with our three boys and wanted to see the key highlights as conveniently and efficiently as possible. Right from making the booking, we had regular communication about how we would like to tailor the tour. We had a great driver and comfortable car. Sonia was an amazing guide. She was very knowledgeable and funny and was able to very efficiently get us around the sights without feeling rushed at all. She was able to engage our kids with the history of each location as well which we appreciated tremendously and the pictures she took of us were amazing! FANTASTIC! We were visiting from Mexico for a business trip and had a 30 hour layover in Beijing. We contacted Catherine Tours via her website thanks to the fantastic reviews in Viator and Tripadvisor. The attention was perfect, they picked us up at Beijing train station, had a full afternoon of tour, dropped us at the hotel, and picked us up next morning for a full day tour and a airport drop in the evening. THANKS A LOT JENA!!!! Our tour guide was the most kind, knowladgable and easy to work with guide I have met. She even prepared a video for us! We visited the Temple of Heaven, Tian'anmen Square, Jinshan Park , Hutongs , Summer Palace and lastly, the Great Wall at the Mutianyu section. As you can see, they were able to show us most of Beijing higlights in 30 hours!

Highly recommend! The 2-day tour covered the main attractions in Beijing but at no point did I feel rushed at all. My guide Jenna was very knowledgeable and took every effort to ensure the entire experience was seamless - including the meals.

I stumbled upon Catherine Lu tours via google, and decided to reach out to her to plan a 2 day itinerary to hit all the key spots in Beijing. Catherine was very helpful from the start, suggesting a lot of options for our consideration yet taking into account our many requests, including dining at specific restaurants of our choice. She even helped us very kindly to make dinner reservations which we are thankful for. The first day took us to Tiananmen Square, Forbidden city and the Temple of heaven , our amazing guide Peter ( a History graduate ), both knowledgeable and eloquent, led us through expertly in both English and Mandarin, explaining whatever we wanted to know and providing us interesting nuggets of information which left us in awe of the engineering prowess of the ancient Chinese. The kids (14 & 10) were also entertained and needless to say we had a wonderful time there. The timing was also perfect as we reached the Temple of Heaven right before closing time, so we managed to capture the sunset against that beautiful structure and savour the benefit of not having hordes of people in every photograph. The second day took us to the Great Wall and again, we had a wonderful time there taking the cable car up and the toboggan down. After which, Peter brought us to the nearby township for a wonderful meal of "Donkey Meat" which was the local specialty, definitely not everyones cup of tea for sure but there are lots of other non Donkey items on the menu. All in all we were impressed by the quality & cleanliness of the restaurant he suggested! To sum it all up, even though we could read and speak the Chinese language, we definitely benefitted tremendously from signing up for this tour. The tour guides there know all the procedures like the back of their hand, be it where to line up ( the other queue was INSANE! Especially in -2 degree temperatures! ) or what to bring ( all our passports for checking - we saw some people who forgot their ID get turned away ). Everything was a breeze and Peter even knew where most of the best toilets were to be found :) Always an added bonus! It was our first trip to Beijing and it definitely left an indelible mark on us, we will be back again soon for sure~

I went with my family plus a friend with his family. Total Four people. Our experience was excellent with Catherine LU from 1/10/2023 to 05/10/2023. Specially like to mention the two tour guides in Beijing (Jane on 2nd October and Justine on 3rd October) Both of them were fantastic in cultural and historical knowledge. Specially like to mention Mr Justine, the costliest child of his mother. He Physically help my wife while struggling with luggage at train station to go to Xi'an. The guide on 4th October at Xián for Terracotta Army was just average. the tour starting from pickup from Beijing airport to ending dropping at Xi'an airport was VIP style.
