Because of booking through a third party (Viator) I was unable to get clear answers to questions specifically from the company offering the tour prior to the tour; e.g. where the tour company would be located once disembarking the ship or what happens if I can't get off the ship in time or how to add a guest the night before the tour, etc.
Process once off the ship of finding the tour was easy.
Bus was clean and had WiFi.
Tour guide was awesome.
Bus stopped at a truck stop on the way to Berlin and the bathroom only took exact Euro change. Many people had no euros yet, and the truck stop did not have an ATM. My group and several others could not use the bathroom. I suggest the tour company give everyone a Euro to use the bathroom -- increase the tour cost if you have to, or offer an exchange.
Bus driver, while nice and safe, was extremely slow. We hit traffic on the way to Berlin and it took us 4+ hours to get there from the cruise ship. It took us 4 hours to get back. Basically, 8+ hours of travel for 4 hours of site seeing. The driver could have gone much faster on the way home -- I Google Mapped the way home and it said we could have made it in /= 3 hours using any of three map options.
The tour program were good even the holiday some street was closed. The problem was we on the bus more than 2 hrs each way from the ship port to Berlin. It was not enough time to see all in one day.
It started late at the beginning. We have to wait on the bus for more than 15 mins from starting time. After arrival Berlin, we met the guide and always asked us to stand in the strong wind to hear him talking about the history. It seems he was talking too much instead of taking us to hang around. It waste lots of our time. Overall, it is not good and won't join again.
It was a good trip. A bit rush, especially for our 3 couples who are all seniors with 3 at least 70. The lunch was really rush too, like 35/40 min. Perhaps, one stop could dropped.
Our guide Taylor has a real passion for Berlin and encyclopedic knowledge shared with terrific enthusiasm. Totally recommended.
Taylor was a very good guide and we had an excellent day in Berlin. The tour was well organized and the timing all went well.
We completely lucked out and had Taylor as our guide. His hunger for history and his understanding of it made it so enjoyable. I left knowing more than I knew and left wanting to know more than I learned. Loved him!!!!
Taylor was a great guide with a lot of knowledge and eager to answer all questions. Thanks for the extra effort!
Great way to see Berlin on a one day cruise ship stop. The return coach journey was 3 hours each way which may put many people off. However, the trip was comfortable and once in Berlin the guide made sure we saw all the important sites. Loved the city architecture and there were many points of interest. It was definitely one of the highlight days of a Baltic cruise and we saved a small fortune by choosing to book independently rather that rely on the cruise ship tours. It was extremely will organised, port pick up was just as easy as the cruise ship tours. Definitely recommend.
In a nutshell: You have a three hour bus ride (plus 15-20 minutes for a bathroom stop) in each direction to get to and from Berlin. Once there you see the sights, either by walking or from the bus. No time to enter any museums or buildings. You do see a portion of the remaining Berlin wall, plus a recreation of checkpoint charley. I guess you can say you saw Berlin from the outside looking in, providing you with an opportunity to know if you want to return when you have more time. Our guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant.
This was too rushed, not a moments free time, and the guide miscounted and left us at one stop. Better to rent a car or explore northern German towns and save Berlin for a trip in itself.
The tour guide Sveltlana was excellent she was very knowledgeable about the place she took us and very passionate about her job
Taylor was a great tour guide. Knew so much history and kept us on task so we were able to see everything we were scheduled to. We had 2 elderly people in our group that had a hard time keeping up but he was very accommodating for them. I would highly recommend this tour with Taylor
What a fantastic day . Theo was a great guide. The All in One Berlin Shore excursion from Warnemunde was amazing . Theo was a great historian very informative ,friendly, enthusiastic and really enjoyed telling us about his adopted city of Berlin.and he was a fellow Aussie. Thank you Theo for making our day so enjoyable. We were greatiful that we had an airconditioned coach back to the ship as it was 35 degrees cel. A big thank you to our coach driver
Our guide Boris is probably the best guide I have ever had in all my travels. He was very knowledgeable and incorporated a historical perspective to better appreciate what we were seeing. Fantastic!
This was the best tour we were ever on! After a comfortable 3-hour drive on an air-conditioned bus we met our tour guide Boris with whom we spent unforgettable 6 hours. We saw and learned so much! Thank you, we will be back!
Berlin excursion with our tour guide Theo was a disappointment. It was just looking at buildings and pictures. We could have done this on our own. Compared to St Petersburg this excursion was a waste of money
BORIS was the best!! I had visited Berlin before, taking a city tour and roaming on my own. This excursion greatly expanded my knowledge and I really enjoyed Boris' ex pat perspectives. The Memorial to the Murdered Jews was especially moving. Many important sites are included...really enjoyed the brief stop at the unusual Sony center with outstanding architecture and high tech features. Three hour ride each way from the port, but it's lovely scenery and there's a pit stop half way! Excellent and worthwhile excursion!!
Fantastic tour! We were absolutely amazed at the history he shared with our group. Matt was very knowledgeable and entertaining throughout the day. He had a binder filled with pictures of the landmarks we were looking at all restored now that showed the devastation after the wars. That brought everything into perspective.
One of our best tours we have taken.
Thanks Matt for a great informative day!
Our tour guide Boris did an excellent joj of explaining the history of the division of Berlin. He is very knowledgeable of the cultures between East and West Berlin. Our Berlin Shore Excursion from Warnemude is highly recommended. The easy access to our tour bus from the port make it a worthwhile excursion.
We had the most exciting and wonderful tour, with Theo as our guide. The All in One Berlin Shore excursion from Warnemunde was amazing, Theo, our tour guide was exceptional, he brought history alive! He was passionate, full of energy, enthusiastic, friendly and very professional and knew his history quite well, armed with pictures and postcards. He even drew an illustration on the sand about the Berlin wall. Impressive,Theo! Customer service representative, Joanna, promptly answered all my queries. I highly recommend this all day in depth excursion. Thanks, Theo!
