We had a wonderful experience touring the Casbah with our guide Romaissa. She took great care of us, explaining the history of the Casbah, showing us the most important sights and giving us enough time to explore together. She had a great in-depth knowledge and we really felt that we got to know the Casbah! She was super friendly and the organisation beforehand was easy as everything important was communicated clearly via message (price, location etc). We gelt safe during our visit and would highly recommend Vizitina!

It was very hard to find the location of the tour as stated in TripAdvisor. We were lost without internet and luckily we found someone that helped us find the tour guide. The meeting place should be easier to find. The tour guide was pleasant and was very good at taking us around and explaining different facets of the tour. He was nice enough to make shopping stops for clothing and souvenirs.

There were some communication problems at the beginning but it ended up very well. Our guide, the owner of the company, was very positive and nice. A good storyteller. Highly recommendable.

Very knowledgeable and polite. We did an extended Tour of the Kasba starting at the harbour and going up to the different points of interest including lunch at a hidden terrace with stunning views. Highly recommend!

We hired a day guide to visit the main historic sites in the Casbah for 3 hours. If you are elderly and have difficulty going up steep staircase, you may want to check with your guide before to your visit. This is something as a first time to Algiers should do.

I did this tour with a friend, and we can't recommend it enough! Algiers itself is a wonderful city, full of contrasts and unexpected gems. But in this wonderful city, the Casbah stands out as the absolute highlight. A place filled with history, stories and wonderful people. I travelled extensively through the Middle East and this is one of the most impressive sights I have seen. There are many ways to explore the Casbah, but I highly recommend taking a tour. I visited the area alone two years ago, but felt that I missed most of it: there are just too many alleyways, hidden buildings and unexpected sights. You need to have someone with you that knows the area and can lead you to that incredible sight that you otherwise would have missed. You can choose from many tour guides if you decide to take the Casbah, but take my advice: book with Vizitina. Honestly, you won't find a better tour guide. And again, this is based on a lot of travel experience through the Middle East: I never had such a high-quality tour against such a reasonable price. Also, there are quite some 'illegal' tour guides out there, which is a risk if you want to book a Casbah tour. Rest assured that Vizitina has all the accreditations - another reason to book with them! They were very responsive whenever we reached out to them, and we could book easily through Tripadvisor. We had Sam as our tour guide. He was an incredibly nice person - even in a city filled with hospitable people, he made a big impression on us. He is fluent in English (thanks to a year spend living in the US), graduated as an architect and also teaches architecture at the University. That means he's very gifted in explaining things, and he knows extremely well what he is talking about. He also knows the history of the place by heart, and seems to know every person in the Casbah. The standard tour is already superb: you visit all the highlights, but talking to Sam about your specific interests means that he will improvise to make sure that the tour is fully tailored to your needs. In my case, that meant taking some detours to show specific places related to the Battle of Algiers. In addition, he gave us lots of tips for great other places to visit in Algiers. This local knowledge helped us find some real hidden gems, visited a wonderful hammam and eat at the best restaurants. So book a Casbah tour with Vizitina! You will see one of the highlights of the Maghreb and meet wonderful people.

I was fully satisfied with VIZITINA especially my special guide Imad. The tour program was very nice. And my guide Imad wanted to explain his city and tried to help me kindly. I recommend you to join this tour as the first schedule in Algeria travel. This tour will make your trip to Algeria more plentiful.

Really excellent experience from start to finish. Imad is genuinely one of the nicest guides I’ve had on any tour. There’s a lot of walking and climbing, but the pace was never too fast. Really enjoyed the lunch and the stop at the cafe lookout. I went on another Casbah tour with a different group later, and we didn’t cover as much or get as much information as I did on this tour. Highly recommend this tour if you’re in Algiers and want to see the Casbah.

I booked the visit as a family treat. The guide was very friendly and so knowledgeable! He is an architect, so his descriptions were even deepened by his own experience. We had traditional lunch in a beautiful guesthouse. I highly recommend the experience to everyone wishing to know more about Algiers and learn it’s history.

you need to have plenty time during the day, and be patient, as the traffic is the worst thing in Algiers plus don't try to drive because the parking is horrible, taxi and subway is the best to travel and to visit

I only had a few days in Algiers. This tour was one of the highlights of my time. The private English tour started at 1:00 PM in Martyrs Square, and continued through the Casbah. The tour is a great overview of the historical and cultural context of the of the city. Imad was a great tour guide, he spoke excellent English, and he humbly answered all my questions. This tour is a great value for what you get!

Wonderful experience in the Algiers'Casbah! Our guide was really kind and expert, providing us with a clear picture of Algeria both historically and culturally. We have been listening to him mixing English and Arabic with many interesting anecdotes. We visited many and typical places and we enjoyed delicious street food. I'd definitely reccomend Vizitina supplier to exploring Algiers!

We had a 2 hour tour with Issam, who was wonderful in explaining the architecture and historical background of various sites around the Casbah, from the citadel, to the Sultan's mosque, the mausoleum etc. He took us to a spot with a great view over the city! I am a history buff so had quite a few questions about the Casbah's beginnings and its development through the Ottoman and French colonial periods - Isssam always proved knowledgeable! He was also kind enough to give us general suggestions about food, and what to see around Algiers. One recommendation I would give (based on my own preferences) would be to include more information/ sites about the "everyday" people's experience of the Casbah - the past and present community, living conditions, social issues and other challenges, relationships with authority and the colonial government, and their experience during the war of independence... Thank you again, this was the highlight of our trip!
