We had an excellent time on this walking tour. We scheduled it on our first day of arriving in Lisbon and it was amazing! We were taught about the history as well as lots of fun facts. Make sure to wear good walking shoes as you are up and down many hills with cobblestone streets! We really loved exploring the Alfama district with Beatrice!

If you're only go to do one tour in Lisbon, then do this one! Sara, our guide, was great - very knowledgeable and with a good sense of humour. As well as historical facts, she provided lots of cultural information and was happy to recommend restaurants, sights etc. We felt we got to know Lisbon much better, thanks to her.

We did the tour with José and he was brilliant! As he lives in the area himself, he had a very extensive knowledge of the history of Alfama along with really interesting facts and stories which kept everyone well informed. He gave lots of good tips for sightseeing the major attractions during the trip with helpful recommendations of where to eat, etc. He was so enthusiastic! The pace of the tour suited everyone with lots of opportunities to stop especially on the climb up to the viewpoint at the end. A thoroughly enjoyable tour, a lovely way to spend a few hours in beautiful Lisbon.

Jose was great, we had a good understanding of the neighborhood after the tour. He would walk at a good pace and give us breaks since it was mostly uphill. He was also very nice to the locals there.
