Lovely guide and a wonderful time

Set up of the tour was good. Guide was very good unlucky we didn't see much of northern lights

Joe was an excellent guide. Local knowledge kicked back and great stories. Warming hut was perfect. The non fire was perfect.

We were dropped off at the yurt and left without an interactive guide. The group sat for hours trying to entertain themselves while waiting to see if the Northern Lights would show up. The young man from the company sat quietly and went outside every once in a while to check and report on the skies. We were lucky, just as the tour was to end , to see some activity.

Unfortunately we sat for over three hours (until 2 AM) in the yurt with very cloudy skies. When we knew there was no chance of seeing the northern lights I wish we could have left. One person wanted to stay so we all had to stay. With nothing to do for 3 hours it became very boring (at least there is a bathroom). Instant coffee/tea/hot chocolate packets were provided. if we had been in a vehicle we could have at least driven around looking for clear skies. Luckily we saw the northern lights at Chena Lakes/North Pole when we drove ourselves two nights later. Next time I would drive myself or go with someone who can find the best location to possibly see the lights.

Cultural experience of being with a great story teller while waiting for the Northern Lights to appear.

To the naked eye, we didn’t see the Northern Lights. You had to stand out in the cold and figure out on your I-phone how to take pictures to see the lights. The tour director didn’t know to be quiet on the way back at 2:45am. He kept talking when everyone wanted to sleep. It was cold and rainy and less than spectacular.

We had waited too long to book this tour with our cruise line so we went with this tour instead. The staff they had working for them did their best, but they were just average locals who had some knowledge to share about the northern lights but at times they were not able to answer the guests questions. Unfortunately the northern lights were not visible due to the weather which was not the company's fault. They tried to keep us entertained by a mushers knowledge on training and competing in sled dog races. He did a good job! The yurts were warm and were good for staying warm while waiting. We were picked up at 10pm and arrived at the yurts around 10:40pm. We then waited around until about 1:15am and then headed back to our hotel. I'm not sure what other entertainment they could offer while waiting but they should come up with some fresh ideas!

It was not remarkable,,I guess because we did not get to see the lights,, the driver was nice and the yurt where we were resting in between sightseeing was warm and comfortable!!

We booked the tour as a night viewing of aurora under a tent, but seems like this tour was merged with a dinner tour of a different party making left out as the odd ones. Along with that as the tent lights were always on, there was no chance of us getting a sight of the aurora. We had to move out of the tent and spend time outside to ensure we dont miss the aurora, anyways it came for a very small timeframe. Our only grievance is we should have been given a tent where we could have been warm and given ourselves ample time to catch a glimpse. It was kind of a disappointment for us where we had to spend most of our time outside in the cold.
