It was wonderful. The whole journey was carefully organised. Our guide, Mike, was knowledgeable about every nook and cranny about the area; he was constantly involving everyone throughout the tour and made sure that we all had an awesome time. Definitely a must-do if you are visiting Auckland!

I was apart of a tour this last Saturday led by Matt. He was absolutely AMAZING! It was an intimate group of 7 of us and we were able to ask questions and chat the whole ride to the excursions. He was knowledgeable about New Zealand’s landscapes, history and fun facts. The tour itself was seamless with amazing views, tour guides and meal. Drop off was to and from my Airbnb which made it easy. I can’t recommend this tour enough! Matt! Thank you for the great time and being great at your job. Your recommendation for dinner at Ahi and the Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium were superb.

Such a wonderful experience! The tour guides were fantastic and made for an even better time! The movie set was more impressive than I imagined and the caves were such a serene place. A wonderful day!

Even if you are not a Lord of the Rings fan, go see Hobbiton. The area is gloriously beautiful. The landscaping and attention to detail is remarkable. One of the more beautiful places I've ever seen. If you are a Lord of The Rings fan, you will be in heaven! You now get to go into one of the Hobbit houses.

An absolutely fantastic day/ tour. Our guide Danny was amazing from start to finish, his knowledge of local history made the driving to and from the tours fly by. Danny was incredibly accommodating and had the tour laid out perfectly, plenty of time at both of the sites with fantastic breaks for food and refreshment worked in. The two tours (Hobbiton and glow worm caves) are must see and this is the perfect tour to help you get there

Jamie was amazing! I had the best time traveling solo on this trip to Hobbiton and the caves. I felt like I got a 1:1 experience and though it was a full 11 hours, I wish I could do it all over again! The caves were a spectacular delight. You can’t take photos or videos because it’s on aboriginal sacred ground but it makes the experience that much more special. I felt really in the moment and so privileged to be able to have the opportunity to see it. Hobbiton was even better than I envisioned. I loved every moment in the roaring green hills and being able to go inside a hobbit house! Definitely a must do in Auckland. 💕 Please note: when you arrive at hobbiton, make sure to go to the gift shop FIRST. You will not return after your tour. You go straight to lunch and the caves.

It was a long day from Auckland to Hobiton and Cave but was worth the time if you are able. Hobiton was great to explore. Fred, our guide was high on the scale of nerd of middle earth, working on his PhD about middle earth, watching all of the movies 42 times each. His horse was an extra in the movies. He also, as a teen, was an extra. We received lots of trivia with challenges to find who's house belonged to who, certain trees that were artificial, how they made Gandalf look taller from look shorter and identifying different houses with the trade they specialized in. The glowworm cave with boat ride was by far the most impressive of the three I visited, one in Australia, one from the Bay of islands and Waitomo. An impressive limestone cave with interesting structure and very bright areas of glow worms bioluminesence. A great guide with important information.

Matt was a wonderful guide and driver! The while day was a delight. Great combination tour! The Hobbiton site was so well kept and organized. Never felt rushed or uninformed. The Alexander Farm is beautiful!!

Amethyst was a fantastic van driver and tour guide. She gave us great history lessons along the way. She told us she had been a costumer on the Hobbit movies and had done the wardrobes for the dwarfs. Of course, she had great stories about that. Highly recommend.

This tour was absolutely incredible!! Our tour guide, Matt, was not only immensely knowledgable about the destinations we were going to (Hobbiton and Waitomo), but also about Aotearoa as a whole. While we were on the 2h+ drive from Auckland to Hobbiton, Waitomo and back, we learned so much about various regions, landmarks, and the country's history. Matt was also incredibly kind, helpful, and hilarious. My husband and best friend were also on the tour with me, and the three of us had an amazing time. This tour was absolutely worth the money and more - it truly was an unforgettable experience. Whether you're in AoNZ for a few days, weeks, months or more, I highly recommend going with Auckland Scenic Tours!

We were pleasantly surprised by the size of Hobbiton and especially enjoyed our time in an actual Hobbit hole! Amysthis was a fun and knowledgeable tour guide and helped us pass the drive time with stories. Great guide. The Glowworm caves were also a unique treat.

Amethyst was an amazing tour guide. She was a wealth of knowledge and made the whole experience a delight even while stuck in traffic lol. The glow worms were in full display, lunch was great, and of course hobbiton did not disappoint.

Second visit was very good, especially with new building and all these nice interiors. Spring and automun in Hobbiton is very beautiful. The only sad thing is missing dwarfs coins as gift to my friens at home. So maybe next time :)
