My daughters loved the vibe and instructor’s here, my 8 year old learned to surf on day 1 and then we booked a few more lessons each day and rented the boards as well. Steph was our “go to” and my daughter’s biggest cheerleader, she runs a tight ship and is so friendly and helpful with everything! Carmen has so much patience and my daughter really enjoyed having her and learned so much.

Iguana surf came up on my google search for tours and after much research we booked multiple tours with them. They are SO responsive and helpful. Online and once you arrive in Tamarindo. The girl at the desk was so helpful and patient as we asked way too many questions 😆 . Our surf lesson was amazing. We had Kurt and would definitely recommend him. We booked a semi-private lesson (3 of us) and he was so good given we had different levels of experience in our group. He gave those of us who know how to surf some great tips and was incredible with our 9 year old son. Ask for Kurt if you go! We are also doing the zip line and boat tour later this week.

I had a surf lesson with Reyner. He explained everything to me in detail and is very motivated and funny. This was my first time surfing and I had a lot of fun I can definitely recommend him!

I booked a 2-hr beginner group surfing lesson with Iguana during my vacation in Tamarindo and ended up having a private lesson with an instructor named Moises. Moises was great at giving clear surf and safety instructions, was encouraging while also challenging me to keep at it, which i appreciated. It was a fantastic introduction to surfing and I would definitely recommend the Iguana school and Moises ☺️.

This was a dream come true! Kenny my instructor was so patient and gave wonderful and supportive feedback to help me catch the waves! It was my very first time ever and I got up 5 times! He was encouraging and very helpful. The board, the staff, the location and the overall experience was absolutely 10/10. I can’t wait to try again! Muchas gracias!!

What a great lesson. Kurt is a fantastic teacher and super helpful. I was able to stand up several times and he knew exactly what I did right and wrong each time. Would definitely come back.

Jordy was a great instructor - and nice equipment too! It was only a few blocks , they will give you a surf shirt, lockers and there are showers to rinse off . The boards were 9ft and easy to handle . Beginners pay approx $50pp and we had a group of 4 people for 90 mins at 1:30 and the waves were just right for learners !

My wife and I took a beginner surf lesson with Moses. He was a great teacher. We learned a ton in a small amount of time. By the end of the lesson we were catching waves. We had such a good experience we booked another lesson a few days later with Iguana Surf!

My kids had private lessons with Kurt and Gretl and I rented a board. Beautiful beach with lovely waves. My kids loved it and wanted to keep going after 90 minutes, which is something.

The staff is very kind and guides you along the way. The overall experience was amazing! Also thanks to our great teacher, Kevin, who explained everything very well with patience. We were quite quickly able to catch some great waves and to feel the pura vida 😉

The instructors were amazing and I can not say enough good things about them. They were patient and kind with the kids and adults too! Also they were super easy to find in busy Tamarindo! We really enjoyed this experience and would highly recommend.

Kurt was a fantastic instructor. Our group was one adult and three kids it is 12 to 16. Kurt was great at explaining the mechanics and practicing on the beach, so all four of us were on our feet for our very first wave! Super fun. We are headed back tomorrow to rent surfboards from them and practice our skills!

We had a blast surfing with Iguana Surf. We booked a group lesson but our group was so small it basically felt private. Manford was an excellent instructor and made sure to give us lots of chances to catch a good wave. He was patient with explaining the technique and gave us feedback and tips after every wave. I hope to go back again soon! Highly recommend lessons with Iguana Surf.

Two of my sons, ages 12 and 14, took a surf lesson with Manuel from Iguana Surf and loved it. The location is great, super convenient, they spent time learning on the beach so they felt ready and both of them were up and surfing within 2-3 waves. The waves at Tamarindo were ideal for beginners and they had a blast. Instructor was super kind and patient with them!

We are a family of four and got private lessons from Kevin, Rainer, Jordi and Miguel. They were amazing. It was our first time and they were very patient and skilled. All four of us (including our 10 and 7 year old kids) were able to stand up and surf. I didn't have a rashguard and they lent me one without my asking. Very highly recommend the activity, the company and the specific instructors.
