His real life experiences of growing up during “ the troubles” was invaluable. This was the most powerful tour we have ever encountered and the absolute highlight of our time in Belfast. This is a must do!!!

The staff at Bullitt Hotel connected my wife and me with Joe for a tour the morning before our train back to Dublin in early April. The time we spent together was honestly the best tour experience I've ever had. Joe picked us up from the hotel and we were instantly at ease with his conversational style and unique perspective. It was clear from his interactions with locals that we were being hosted by someone with deep connections to the places we saw, and Joe's humor and grace in discussing thorny issues made for an informative but comfortable experience. The opportunity to sign the Peace Wall was a surprising and very meaningful experience. We are so appreciative and I hope many more people take the chance to see Belfast with Joe!

This was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Was able to secure a tour the same day, working around our schedule, with pickup at the Titanic Experience. Joe is a fabulous guide with a knack for talking about a difficult topic with grace, empathy for all involved and a bit of appropriate humor to lighten the mood as needed. Felt like we got a balanced overview of "The Troubles," and we all came away wanting to learn much more. Highly recommended, this was a highlight of our trip.

Excellent experience learning all out this part of Irish history. Our guide was great with our 10 & 13 year old boys and tailored the stories to interest them as well as us. The fact that they asked lots of questions is testament to how engaging the stories were. My 10 year old rated this 10/10 and said it was the best tour we have done in our 3 months of travels! This is high praise indeed, thank-you so much for sharing part of your life with us.

The beautiful gentleman who did the tour - I found his experience quite emotional. Living overseas, and perhaps for more local people, we did not see the "behind the scenes" activity. A very eye opening experience. It certainly changed my impression of the IRA and what it wanted to acheive.
