This tour allowed me to see most of the highlights of Cairo in one day. I did this tour as my first stop in Egypt. It was a great introduction to see and learn about the Pyramids of Giza and the treasures in the Egyptian Museum and to walk through the famous Khan el-Khalili bazaar. My tour guide, Yassar, was very good. He was knowledgeable and easy to understand. He also took great pictures. He knew all the best angles. The driver was also great. And the car was comfortable in that Cairo traffic. The guide and driver were on time for pick up and drop off. I had to catch a flight following the tour and they helped arrange an Uber for me from the final stop. I took several tours during my trip in Egypt and this was my favorite one. This is a must do for anyone traveling to Cairo for the first time. Finally getting to see the Pyramids in person was amazing. I opted not to pay extra to go into the Pyramids because I was planning to go to other temples and I knew the room inside the Pyramids would be empty. This is a decision that I do not regret. All the artifacts have been looted or placed in the Egyptian Museum, which is why going to that museum is a must. I did opt to add on and pay extra to see the royal mummies at the museum. However, unless you are really into mummies, I don't think this is necessary. You do get to see two mummies as part of the regular tour of the museum and a room of animal mummies. For me, the add on ended up being interesting but not necessary. I could have done without it. This tour also included a stop at a Papyrus shop and perfume shop. While it was interesting to see both of these products and learn about how they are made, I would say do not buy anything at these places if you are planning to go to Aswan. The prices are cheaper there and the perfumes are exactly the same scents. The paintings are not exactly the same at every Papyrus shop but similar. The cheapest place to buy papyrus art and perfumes are the bazaar so you could also wait and buy when you get there as part of this tour. The bazaar itself is large and can be overwhelming but fun to see. Overall, this tour allows you to take in the highlights in one day with a knowledgeable guide who will make the tour fun and interesting. I definitely recommend spending the money to do this.
Excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable about history of place.
Good photographer and gave suggestions as to prices of items to buy
My husband and I are visiting from the US. This is a tour of all the must see’s in Cairo! Zenab, our guide, was full of knowledge and made us feel very comfortable. From seeing the great Pyramid, the Sphinx, the Cairo museum, and the bazaar, she shared tremendous knowledge and ensured we understood each site - all the while giving us the time we needed to make the experience our own! She always gave us enough time, but kept to the schedule. Even while helping us find a special piece of jewelry we were looking for.... In the middle of the day, we enjoyed delicious local food and more stories of history of the area with an amazing view of the Sphinx. An A+ experience overall a and highly recommend spending the day with Zenab to explore it!
My daughter and I went to Egypt for my 60th bday. Yasser and Emad were so genours and kind to us. Yasser is very informative and gave us so much history of his country. Everything went so smoothly and hassle free. We really enjoyed our time with Yesser, when we return to Cairo we will definitely choose him again as our tour guide. For anyone seeking this tour, don't hesitate and request Yesser. 5 stars given to him and Emad! Thank you again for a wonderful and magical experience.
Our tour guide on this tour name was Michael Yehia Sobhy. We knew we were in good hands when the hotel told us that Michael was the best. He wasn't kidding. We had visited the Pyramids and Sphinx the day before with Gate 1 travel and we learned so much more with Michael. It was worth the repeat visit. The Egyptian Museum tour was the best of all. He had three versions (short, medium or long tour). We loved it so much, we opted for the long tour. It was fantastic and we now have a real appreciation for Egyptian History. The lunch place Michael took us to was full and he was still able to get us in quickly, cause he knows everyone. The lunch food was the best and I actually got to try Camel. I was looking to buy my wife an 18 carat cartouche while visiting Egypt and Michael took us to a very authentic Bazaar that specialized in this area. We were able to watch them make it on the spot. This tour made the trip to Egypt very worthwhile. Thank You Michael. We highly recommend any tour you can get with him while in Egypt!
Manar was a wonderful guide and a very sweet person. Her knowledge and attentiveness were the perfect combination to make our day unforgettable.
We booked this tour at very short notice after our original tour was a victim of the Thomas Cook collapse. The tour guide, Amal, met us at the hotel early and introduced herself and explained the tour arrangements to us. We had Amal and the taxi driver to ourselves which was marvelous.
Amal took us to the Pyrmamids, arranged a camel ride (an adventure in itself)) and then on to the Sphinx and gave us a very detailed and informative talk on both sites - she also takes excellent photographs. We then had a visit to a perfumery and a papyrus factory before a very good lunch. Amal was quite happy to answer our questions about life in Egypt and was interested in our lives too. The tour of the museum was excellent, Amal showed us around all the more relevant displays so we didn't waste time, again her knowledge was excellent. Quite amused that the toilet attendants asked for money while standing under signs saying no tipping allowed! After the museum we were starting to feel a bit foot sore so made a very quick visit to the bazaar and got a few souvenirs - not so much pressure from the stall holders as in Luxor and Aswan. Then it was back to the hotel - Amal was an excellent guide and we were constantly surprised at how quickly the taxi came to take us onto the next destination. All in all a very good value and enjoyeble trip - thank you Amal.
We were in Cairo for a short time, and booked this tour. I must say our guide Mohamed Gouda was not only proficient in English, but his knowledge of the history of Egypt and Cairo was phenomenal. We felt very much relaxed during the entire tour. Gouda took his time with the 6 of us in the group and never rushed us. I truly appreciate the time he spent, and his professionalism and hospitality.
At the last minute we had to rearrange the itinerary of the tour so that we could prepare for our flights later that day. Our guide was excellent with great depth of knowledge. management and the guide helped us change the timing of the tour events. Very cooperative.
Bassem picked us up promptly. We headed off with a driver and Bassem as our guide. Great english amazing knowledge and very easy going and happy tot modify the itinerary to suit our needs. We saw the pyramids, my husband and son rode the camel. I did not and was not pushed. We were given a choice of places to have lunch. this suited my son as he is very fussy about food.
We saw the museum and bazaar, we weren't hurried or bored. I travel a lot and have high expectations. We were all very pleased with this tour. Debbie Sydney
Amal was an excellent guide. She is incredibly knowledgeable and she taught us so much about the history of Egypt. We were able to see so much during our tour and we recommend this tour for anyone who only has limited time for exploring Cairo!
Our guide was super helpful and helped us out through every part of our tour. He took pictures of us whenever we wanted and suggested good places for them too! He was great at being there when we needed him as well as giving us space at times for my wife and I to enjoy things on our own. Definitely would recommend this tour!
Zenab was a great host, she showed us around the city and was very accommodating to our needs. She found out it was my boyfriends birthday and surprised him with a thoughtful gift. Z knows this city inside and out, and has many connections. We enjoyed our time and would recommend this tour. Thank you again!
I booked this tour after reading a number of reviews. It did not disappoint. I was lucky to have such an amazing guide (thank you Zenab) who knows a lot about egypt's history. My guide contacted me a day before my tour to inform me of the meeting time. The next day, she arrived earlier than scheduled. Zenab also allowed me to do some modifications on the sites we visited. Since I'm not really in the mood to visit the old market and buy stuff, she agreed to swap it with the Citadel instead. Zenab is very patient and kind and i never felt rushed. She gives me time to roam by myself, takes awesome photos and the lunch we had is superb. The camel ride by the pyramids is probably one of the highlights for me. I will definitely recommend this to anyone. I'm travelling alone but felt completely safe the entire time. Our driver, Akhmed, is also very kind and he drives safely. Egypt is quite safe and not as bad as the media portray it to be. Still, you need to be mindful of your surroundings the same way you do regardless of where you travel. This tour is highly recommended!
Zenab did a great job. The tour takes you to the places that you "need" to visit while in Cairo with the right balance between guided tour and independence. At each place, she introduced us to the site, told us some essential information about each, and then gave the option to see more on your own. No pressure to buy at the bazaar and artisan shops. Answered all questions honestly. Highly recommended!
Our private tour was with Michael and a driver. They picked us up at our hotel, and took us to the main attraction sites at Cairo. We had a delicious lunch, and they made sure to take care of our needs as we traveled throughout the day. It was nice because although they were guiding us, they also allowed us to go on our own in certain locations to explore and take our time when wanted. Would highly recommend!
Amazing trip, with wonderful guide, Zenah. We went in the morning, before it got too hot, to see one of the most awesome sites, the pyramids and sphinx. We toured the area, and chose the horse and buggy over the camel ride. Zenah took some memorable pictures for us. Then we went to some special government shops. with items you couldn't find elsewhere. Real papyrus artwork, fine jewelry, and perfumes. Then a great lunch, before heading to the Antiquities Museum. Great collection. Then on to the bazaar area, a tight group of little streets with all sorts on merchandise. Quite a day, well-planned and enjoyable. Thanks, Zenah.
We had a great experience with Mony, she picked us up with a personal driver and private air conditioned van. The tour was very flexible and accommodated to our schedule and preferences. We would totally recommend this tour.
Our guide was informative and helpful. We went back to shop. You just have to know how to bargain 😊
Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and led the tour at a relaxed pace. The air-conditioned bus was a welcome bonus in the soaring desert temperatures, as was the lunch at the local restaurant in Giza.
Fantastic day sightseeing in Cairo with our experienced and knowledgeable guide (Zenab) and driver! We saw and experienced real Egyptian culture and history with Zenab and nothing was too much trouble. She took our safety into every consideration and took some outstanding photos of us both, in all the major attractions. She ensured our every comfort was met and, I would totally recommend this tour to any one considering how to see Cairo in 8 hours.
This was a fantastic tour and o think the best way to see all the sites. Eslam was a terrific guide who adapted the tour to fit our interests and personalities. I would definitely recommend him and this tour to anyone else visiting Cairo.
I booked this tour for just 1 friend and I. Communication with the tour guide ahead of time was seamless. The guide and driver picked us up at our hotel on time, and were very professional all day. We absolutely loved our guide, Mira. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. She helped us properly tip the camel operator as well as helped us with our specific shopping needs at the bazaar. I highly recommend this tour and our guide if you can request her. Our driver was terrific too. (I just can't remember his name.)
So I booked this tour with Mira and I’m so happy I did. She is absolutely beautiful and gracious. She was very very helpful and insightful about the history of Egypt. She is also a amazing photographer!! She will take beautiful photos of you using your smart phones. Mira took us to a amazing Egyptian restaurant for lunch and the food was great. Me and my 3 friends enjoyed her tour and if I ever return I will give her a call !!
My wife and I scheduled a one-day tour for a short stopover in Cairo. Our guide, Zenab, and her driver met us at the hotel exactly on time. She offered an itinerary and also stressed that the day was ours to adjust as necessary. My wife is a consummate photographer, so Zenab assured us we would get the best photos give our time constraint. She did not disappoint in the least. She arranged for us the best camel drive for photos at the pyramids, and the best vantage points for photos of them and the Sphinx. She enroute to a classic Cairo lunch, we visited a papyrus shop and another shop (normal practice) where she stressed we did not have to buy anything. However, we found excellent items and each and did make some purchases. Zenab had an obvious love for and deep knowledge of Egypt's history and culture, and was excited to show us the "must see" exhibits at the Egyptian Antiquities Museum. The highlight for my wife was the vibrant Marketplace/Bazaar, from which I had to drag her away when our tour was ending.
He was so knowledgeable of everything Egyptian. Our pictures and information of the Pyramids, Sphynx and Camel rides were priceless and so was the service. So considerate of everything we wanted to do while offering suggestions that were spot on.
The museum was totally amazing and we saw so much. We even spent extra time to view even more. We were taken to see Papyrus being made and an Egyptian Oils shop and learned about that and what it had to do with the culture of Egypt. Loved it. We had an authentic Egyptian lunch on the Nile River and stopped at a bazaar on the way back to the hotel where we were able to shop for true Egyptian made souvenirs instead of junk made in China. My granddaughter was even able to have a cartuche made with her name on it. Mina was not only a perfect guide but we felt like we had made a new friend. This is a 10 Star tour and you must ask for Mina if you want the very best experience you could ever imagine.
We had a 8 hour private tour of the Pyramids, Sphinx, Egyptian Museum and Bazaar including a camel ride and lunch. It was absolutely amazing. We feel that we saw the best of Egypt with-in one day. Both my friend and I felt that our tour guide absolutely made our trip. His knowledge was absolutely brilliant as well his communication skills. We had Ashraf Zakhary from Tree of Life tours.
This is excellent tour that i had in Cairo. My tour guide Amal Ammar is nice, she's tell me every information about the locations. She arrived to my hotel just before the tour start time, very reliable! She give good suggestion how to offer the price when wanted to buy something. The restaurant we went was good. We have a very fabulous day. The tour is worthwhile as it last for exactly 8 hours. I would recommended to every one, if Amal Ammar is your tour guide!
I took this tour on Friday as I only had two days in Cairo/Giza and wanted to see the main sights. Mohamed was my tour guide for the day and he was great, very knowledgeable and tailored the tour to my requests. As a female solo traveller I was a bit apprehensive but Mohamed made me feel very safe and the day went very smoothly. This is a great way to see key points of interest in Cairo on a tight schedule, highly recommend!
We had a wonderful day with our tour guide Zenab. I actually booked this tour because it had the highest rating on Viator, and all the reviews are not wrong!
Firstly Zenab contacted me the day before via Whatsapp and confirmed everything. She even accommodated our request to start a little later because we were very tired from the flight. We met her promptly in our hotel lobby and we instantly became friends. Zenab speaks excellent English and is really knowledgeable about Egyptian History. We had a private mini van with us all day, which was great as we would leave stuff in the van and just get in and out.
Our drivers were excellent in negiotiating Cairo traffic. Our first stop were the pyramids, and Zenab took the time to point out important Cairo landmarks on our journey there. We found out a lot about recent Egyptian history. At the pyramids, all our tickets were paid for and we got in smoothly. Zenab made sure we were not hassled by any sellers. She told us all about the scams to look out for. She took us to the best spot for photos and happily took loads for photos for us. We also had a camel ride included in the price. If you've never been on a camel before, be aware that its a thrill ride and much less stable than riding a horse. However we all enjoyed it, and had some funny stories to tell at the end. Our camel guides also took some lovely photos of us on the camels with the pyramids. We tipped them 50 egyptian pounds each which is considered a good tip.
We also had the time to go inside one of the smaller pyramids none of us were too keen on going into the large pyramid which you have to pay an extra 200 pounds for. It was quite the adventure going down into the burial chamber and wonderful to see what was inside the chamber in the Egyptian museum. I highly recommend people wear sensible athletic shoes for this. We also got to climb a little way up the largest pyramid to take photos.
We also visited the sphinx and again took loads of photos. Zenab was excellent and captivating at explaining all the history.
We had some time before lunch so we visited a papyrus gallery. Zenab made sure to emphasize that we should not feel pressured to buy anything. We had a good demonstration of how papyrus was made and also what papyrus looked like because I actually didn't know. We never felt pressured to buy anything and really enjoyed wandering around the papyrus art gallery. The works were high quality here - not like what we saw later on in the bazaar.
Lunch was superb. We went to a nice local Egyptian place and had a set menu with lots of starters, the main course was a choice between beef, chicken or fish. I had the fish and it was very tender.
The afternoon was spent at the Egyptian museum, and Zenab showed us all the highlights. Its much better than going with a guide because Zenab was able to tell us much more than the small information plaques could. We saw all the treasures of Tutankhamun. Again the ticket price was included. Zenab took us to see some mummies but we decided not to pay extra to see the exposed royal mummies as we come from London and had seen plenty before in the British Museum. At the end we had some free time.
The last stop was the Bazaar, the largest in Cairo. It was a wonderful and colour taste of local Egyptian life and it didn't feel too touristy at all. The stores are a virtual Aladdin's cave of treasures and also a lot of colourful tat. We got to see one man cycling whilst balancing a huge tray of bread in one hand above his head. We stopped by the Mosque of Hassan for some pictures and Zenab took us to a famous Egyptian Pancake place. The pancakes were delicious, fresh out of the oven and wonderfully crispy.
We cannot thank Zenab enough for such a good day.
My advice is that you should bring cash for tips, and also to buy souvenirs because both the Egyptian Museum and Bazaar are good places to get them. Wear sensible shoes or sandals, and bring lots of sunblock and water.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the main highlights of Cairo in one day.
