GO WITH TROLL!!! After pondering a trip to Iceland for many years, I finally took the plunge and I’m so glad I did. Even more so because I chose Troll Expeditions to lead the way. For the first time visitor, Iceland can be overwhelming. It has an endless amount of beautiful scenery and attractions, and with so much to see it would be a challenge to coordinate a quality visit on your own. Having all the travel, site visits and expeditions, and lodging managed by someone else meant I could relax and focus on the insane beauty of this wild place. Our small group was expertly led by our guide, Rocky, who kept us organized, informed and happy. Highlights of the trip included, Kirkjufell, black sand beaches, Vok Baths, and seeing the northern lights. Along the way Rocky sprinkled all of these activities with Icelandic history and enchanting folk tales, many about Iceland’s beloved Trolls. If you’re thinking of a trip to Iceland, don’t wait, go now, and make sure you go with Troll!

This is a great way to see almost all of Iceland. Johann - our driver and tour guide was great and the tour offered great value. All activities were great and well planned. One should take advantage of the optional activity offerings as well. However, the 19 person bus was fully occupied, and there was no room in the bus for day packs, requiring one to ride the whole trip with a day pack on one's lap. In addition, the seats are narrow and the pitch is tight so if one is large or tall be prepared for a tight ride. Hotel accommodations were spartan for the most part with one room having no central heat. If you take this tour, do not sign up for luggage storage unless you must. We paid in advance for the storage which was never stored and no refund for the service was provided. Regarding clothes and shoes - if you go in the winter take warm clothes (layers) - I'm a skier and I wish I had brought even warmer clothes and be prepared for icy walks so good winter shoes with cleats would be advisable.

I wholeheartedly thank our guide John, whose professionalism and enthusiasm made our eight-day itinerary extraordinarily wonderful! John is not only humorous and friendly, but he also shared a wealth of geographical knowledge during the journey and kept an eye out for the Northern Lights in the evenings. He recommended many local specialties to us, and with his help, we even found the shark meat we had been eager to try (which indeed has a very unique taste, haha). Our companions were also very friendly; everyone helped each other take photos and shared beautiful moments. Iceland's natural landscapes are magnificent, and being able to see the Northern Lights four times in seven days really made us feel incredibly fortunate. Despite the cold weather, this was truly a wonderful trip!

Before graduation, it was really unforgettable to have such a wonderful trip with my classmates. Accustomed to the bustling and monotonous cities, this 8-day trip to Iceland really gave me great feelings and different experiences. Waterfalls, canyons, northern lights... All kinds of beauty that can't be seen at ordinary times; Horseback riding, glacier trekking, cave exploration... The activities are an exciting experience. At the same time, our dear tour guide John, with his enthusiasm and rich knowledge, taught us a lot of geographical knowledge and Icelandic culture during the trip, and also helped me integrate into the group and have a good experience since I was not good at English communication. I am really grateful to him! Of course, in the process of travel can also experience Iceland's special food, including but not limited to shark meat, taste well... I look forward to seeing you for yourself. What is the point of travel? It's about experiencing things you wouldn't normally experience, seeing things you wouldn't normally see, meeting some interesting souls and making valuable memories. This 8-day trip to Iceland has really achieved these things. Thanks to John and every member of the tour group for their tolerance and enthusiasm, I think I will return to Iceland in the summer in the future to see different scenery.

Solo traveller to Iceland will never felt being as solo by joining this small group of 10pax for 8days super Icelandic tour. We have lots of funs & laughter during the trip, with our amazing, funny, knowledgable, informative tour guide - Palli. And of course, Palli was a very skillful driver too especially during heavy snowfall days. You have created a life memories for me, thank you Palli & Troll Expeditions Team. I'm so in love with Iceland!

If you have limited time and are reluctant to self drive, then doing a small group tour around Iceland makes sense. All the stress of travelling is removed and you know you will see the best of Iceland. Troll clearly has excellent guides, and our guide was awesome. Rocky’s cool and calm demeanour and genuine personal connection with all of us was obvious. Despite our trip being affected by a 2 day blizzard, Rocky calmly changed plans and kept our journey on schedule as much as was possible. Iceland is incredible. Troll tours are very well organised and well thought out. Rocky was excellent in every respect. We left feeling like we were saying goodbye to an old friend. Highly recommended!

The country is stunning, so dramatic and magical, made even more so by our amazing guide Rocky. Despite the weather attempting to derail our plans, we saw the Northern Lights, beaches, glaciers, waterfalls (so many waterfalls!), hot springs and more. Our guide took time to show us little, less known gems along the main route, shared loads of local knowledge and folklore, and as a result we saw trolls and reindeer and even an Arctic fox on our travels! Please visit this country at least once, spend at least 8 days touring outside Reykjavik, and if you're lucky enough to get Rocky then you're going to have the BEST time.

We share a splendid holiday in Iceland from 30th of March to 7th of April. We are so proud to be members of the group. Everybody was so kind and nice. And we share a fantastic trip with our guide John who is truly love his job and Iceland. He shared many places of his favourite to us. And we all find these sights beautiful as him. The tour will be carved in our mind . We appreciate not only John but all the teammates.

Many times we write reviews because companies ask us to write something about our experience, but I think this time it is not necessary to ask. My experience was excellent, I couldn't be more grateful for all the experiences, anecdotes and freedom I experienced on my tour. My wonderful tour director Iskren taught me a very different way of how to experience a tour. For those who have taken tours before, it may have happened that sometimes you like a place and you don't spend enough time there because you have to follow the group. Well Iskren gave us the freedom to explore freely at each stop and it was wonderful and very eye opening. After traveling through Iceland with this company you will agree with me that every corner of Iceland inspires a photo. It is an exciting adventure at all times. My main objective was to see the auroras and we agreed that if someone in the group found one at any time of the night, we would notify the tour guide and he would wake us up and whoever wanted to go out would go out to see them. It was very exciting to receive the call 😂 I loved everything about my tour… .. my new friends, my new experiences and my dear auroras 💕

I had an unforgettable experience during the tour. The landscape and nature are gorgeous and unique, from the magnificent south coast, stunning mountains covered in ice in the north and the mystic peninsula. I feel so lucky that northern lights were seen on couple nights. Our guide John is so passionate and knowledgeable, definitely enjoyed the extra stops and geography lesson, we can take sth back home, not just tourist spotting.

Our 8-day journey through Iceland was absolutely incredible, all thanks to our exceptional tour guide, Thor. Without hesitation, I can say that Iceland is a marvel of natural beauty, deserving a top spot on everyone's bucket list. From the breathtaking glaciers to the mysterious lava caves, the mesmerizing waterfalls, the awe-inspiring geysers, the soothing vok baths, and the stunning landscapes—every moment was filled with wonder. And who could overlook the enchanting spectacle of the northern lights? Our small group tour was impeccably organized, and Thor, our guide, was both efficient and knowledgeable. His methodical approach ensured we made the most of our time, while his delightful sense of humour added an extra layer of enjoyment to our journey. Moreover, his captivating tales of Viking lore, trolls, and Yule lads offered us a glimpse into Iceland's rich history and folklore, allowing us to connect with the country's past in a meaningful way. Thor was great friendly, knowledgeable about the county’s history, geology and culture. Each day was well planned even in the face of white out snow storms we all felt safe. We were taken every woken to chase and catch the Northern lights, see glaciers, waterfalls, lava tubes, geothermal springs and how they are used to make power. Thor got us on group chats, dinners and helped us to make friends keeping his Viking desires to concur us at bay. If he had only worn the mythical horned hermit or even the Gjermundbu helmet. Lol Fantastic trip!!!

The tour guide (Thor) on this trip is very friendly and has a very detailed introduction to Iceland's attractions. Ice caves, glacier hiking, and volcanic rocks are all very relaxing.

I have completed the 8 day tour and if I could, I would join the next one. Beautiful country and an awesome tour. It was like no other tour I have ever joined. Our guide Rocky is an amazing person and guide. He is knowledgeable, kind, funny, engaging and best of all, he is very entertaining and experienced. The sites we have seen ( several waterfalls, glaciers, glacier lagoons, Northern Lights, lava caves and fields, ice caves, etc.), the activities we have done, the music we listened will stay with me for a long time. Without any doubt, this was one of my best trips ever! In 8 days we were able to complete the entire tour of Iceland and visit all the iconic attractions. Bus and hotels were great. The members of our group were coming from all over the world and each of them was great. One special mention to our amazing and unique guide “David Ingi Magnusson” who was fun, always in good mood, positive, experienced and a great driver, he was the cherry on top of the cake. I definitely recommend the Troll expeditions and this specific tour of 8 days around Iceland.

This is an amazing experience and Iceland is very beautiful country even during winter. Johann Yari is our tour guide and he made this tour more enjoyable and fun. I would never mind doing another tour with you again man, alright, alright okay! Hahaha. Love playing snowballs and goofing around. Just so lucky that I’m in a great tour group which add the fun.
