Our tour guide, Bright, was amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable about the island, botany and animal habitat. He took us off the beaten path on a trail with an epic view of multiple waterfalls. The best part was that there were no tourists or people on our trail. We would not have found this trail without him. Well worth it! Highlight of our trip

My Honolulu-based family was looking to do a day trip to Kauai, an intimidating task as we didn't know much about the island. Kauai Hiking Tours provided the exact tour that we wanted to make a short trip extra special. From booking to the end of our tour, they were super accommodating of preferences and needs, picking and dropping us off at the airport and letting us call the shots of what we wanted to do for the day. Our guide, Nick, was very knowledgable about Kauai and took us to some remarkable spots to check out – many that were a bit off the beaten track. Nick helped us develop a deeper sense of appreciation for the island, from its unique geological features to its history and culture. It's one thing to see Kauai's natural beauty, it's another to really understand what makes it such an incredible place. Highly recommend this tour if you're looking to go around with a local guide! This tour was full of spectacular sights and soul-feeding beauty beyond description. Our guide, Maluhia was UH-MAZing, and tailored this tour to our specific interests and abilities. She was well prepared for our comfort and convenience too! We especially loved the forests, waterfalls and tour hike to/from the natural spring. Kauai is very special, and so was our guide.

Bright, our guide for the day, was engaging, very knowledgeable, and definitely in-tune with ensuring we really enjoyed ourselves. He modified and planned the trip based upon our desires and fitness level. We were really impressed with his knowledge of flora and fauna, geology and culture. Jeremiah was an exceptional hiking guide for our outdoor adventure on Kauai. He is very experienced, very accommodating and well versed with knowledge about every area of the island. This tour was designed just for us, we are over 50 and can’t hike very far. This day was amazing - we saw the Maniniholo dry cave, Hanalei Bay and spent time on beautiful beaches! Jenny did a great job showing us key points and customs in Kauai - thank you!! Would book again!

The guide was so accommodating and shared so much information about things we saw along the way and Hawaiian history. She had answers to all of my questions. And, of course, the Napali is more beautiful than any other place I've been.

We had a great day, many thanks. Highly knowledgable guide who took us on a coastal hike we'd never have attempted alone and to some great scenic look outs over the canyon. Kids were really engaged by her enthusiasm and enjoyed looking out for local fruits and plants too. Pleasure to be with someone who knows the island well. Only word of caution, the Midnight Bear bakery had changed its opening hours from those published (we had checked both Google and bakery's own site the day before) so do be aware some days it opens later. We'd dragged the teens out of bed early to leave time for breakfast beforehand so they weren't impressed! Its pastries are very good though!

Our guide Patrick was great!! Highly recommend his tour. Our family has minimal hiking experience. Patrick was able to take us on routes that were suited for our skill level, or lack thereof, but still give us an exciting day and an opportunity to swim in a waterfall. His knowledge of the canyon and plants was superb. And, his being a high school teacher, was perfect and having him relate to our kids. They had fun while still learning and having an exciting time. We would’ve missed so much, and perhaps gotten lost or hurt, if we had done this without a professional guide.

Our family did the Waimea Canyon tour with Megan on 7/12. We have been on many different tours in different states and countries and this one was clearly the best. Part of it was the amazing sites - the area is truly spectacular! We have physical and mental pictures we will treasure for years. But Megan was equally wonderful. She had an amazing wealth of knowledge that she passed along all day. The hikes were challenging but the ultimate views were so, so rewarding. She brought to life what we were seeing in person with her many stories and information about the specific area, Kauai, or Hawaii in general. She kept our two 18-year old boys captivated throughout. You can certainly visit Waimea by yourself but having someone like Megan and a company like KHT takes the experience to an entirely different level. Well worth the investment.

Jenny, our barefoot tour guide, was not only a great guide, but probably the most interesting person we have ever met. She had a great persona which put us at ease during our trek. She is very knowledgeable of Kauai's trails, hunting, history and it's fauna. My teenage boys loved her interesting stories. Bonus: She is an excellent photographer.

Fantastic experience. Megan is a very knowledgeable and entertaining guide. She definitely knows how to read the terrain, weather and participants with impressive precision. We booked a family hike with a couple of reluctant participants but Megan made sure everyone had a great time and that we all felt safe as well. We will definitely book again in our return to this majestic, magic island. Thank you for making our vacation more memorable and unique!

Excellent guide that met us at a convenient spot, good communication. We swam in waterfalls and hiked trails we would’ve never found. We were a large group of 9 (teens, young adults and older adults ages 13-58) and our guide was helpful to all of us. Only thing we failed to do was bring enough bug repellent.
