Without doubt the best way to tour Kyoto. From cycling through the bamboo forest at the start of the day to cycling through the rice paddies at the end, Ray is an awesome guide who takes care of every little detail.

The best bike tour EVER! We did the full day tour starting from early and finishing around 5pm It was a great opportunity to see a lot in one day and see a lot of Kyoto in the local way! And everything was taken care of like tickets for entry to places which made time much more efficient! I liked it because Ray was very accommodating to everyone during the tour always checking everyone was okay and making sure we were safe. Ray is a natural born storyteller and keeps the information in relevant pockets and not too much overload, he is also is like a Ray of sunshine! It was a great way to make new friends and share a wonderful memory in which I will cherish for years to come! The bikes were very good quality and well maintained! Very grateful for a wonderful experience. For people that are unsure about riding for a full day or are a little nervous there’s shorter ones and also power assisted bikes which is super helpful! Thanks again!

We had a fantastic time with our tour guide who showed us around the Arashimaya area and shared lots about Japanese history and culture. Bike tours are a good way to get around and rest our tired feet from walking the days prior. Highly recommend!

The best way to see most of Kyoto’s main attractions in a single day, with the best tour guide I’ve come across (Ray). Took the full day tour starting early in the morning and finishing at 6pm, with a stopover at a local udon place for an amazing bowl of beef udon - powering the ~45km bike ride. While we were on our bikes - Ray was an excellent leader of the pack - he looked after us with utmost care, guiding us through the sometimes busy streets of Kyoto. At the stops / attractions - Ray was a fantastic guide. His deep explanations of the history of each attraction were articulated eloquently and humorously, really reflected his decades of experience in Kyoto / Japan. Ray was also kind when it came to pictures - he helped capture this memorable day for us and we received our pictures the same day! We had an amazing time filled with lots of laughter, great conversations, zone 2 cardio all while soaking in the beauty of Kyoto. 10/10 would recommend, no brainer for your first time in Kyoto!

What a great way to explore Kyoto. Seeing the highlights with the interesting stories from our guide Ray made our day. Cycling next to the river and in the small streets gave us a chance seeing Kyoto at a different way. 45km over the whole day is doable for every level of cyclist. And Dascha can recommend the e-bike 😂. If you’re in Kyoto and you want to spend an amazing day on the bike I can highly recommend this one!

Our group is not big on tours BUT this one is a must do! If your time in Kyoto is limited this is how you GET IT ALL! Rob was absolutely the best guide. His experience and knowledge of the Japanese culture is endless. Lunch udon was amazing. This is worth your money. We all upgraded to the E-bike and we were so glad we did. It’s a long day on a bike, so comfort is key. Rob also captured pictures for us and that was super helpful. This is a 10 star experience. Rob our tour guide is a 10 star as well! Thank you Rob!

Our guide Rob took us on an amazing tour of the cultural highlights of Kyoto. Rob knew all the shortcuts and hidden spots to ensure we avoided the crowds while being able to capture amazing views and photos. Rob provided detailed information about the history of each place we visited and provided context to today’s society. This is a must do experience

Rob our guide was informative and made us all feel at ease considering we were on an 8 hours bike tour ! With breaks and lunch thrown in of course. Got to know Kyoto, its history through to understanding Japanese culture. Great experience and definitely recommend especially using Rob as a guide, as he was American but has lived in Kyoto for over 24 years !

Rob took me and my teen son on the most awesome adventure. I’m not the most athletic person, but Rob kept me comfy for about 20k on the bike. We went all over Kyoto-on and off the beaten path. Rob’s love of history and deep knowledge made us feel so connected to the history and culture of Kyoto. He chose a wonderful place for lunch as well.

Yesterday we went on a full-day bike tour through Kyoto. We saw a lot and it was fun to cycle through all those different parts of Kyoto. Our tourguide Rob was very energetic and told us many things about Japan, Kyoto and the Japanese culture. He also answered all questions we had an navigated us smoothly through the traffic. An awesome tour! Can’t believe we saw so much in one day, an absolute highlight of our trip. A long ride, can be a bit tiring, but well worth it!!

I spent an amazing day on this tour. Guide Rob was very knowledgable, generous and interesting, having the perspective of an expat living in Japan. The bikes were of good quality, the itinerary was really nice, the lunch was perfect. Size of group (6) was also perfect. I would (and will) recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto, and able to cycle 50 km!

This was an awesome day out. We saw Kyoto, we ate lunch, we had a most pleasant work out. Rob is outstanding and would recommend him to anyone. He is highly knowledgeable, has great social skills and looks out for everyone's safety.

Our Kyoto Bike tour to the "Bamboo Forest", various temples / shrines, and the back streets of Kyoto was a highly enjoyable and educational experience, and certainly one of the highlights of our Japanese holiday. Our guide, Ray, was a fountain of knowledge, his passion and love for his adopted country shining through in his engaging commentary. We learnt an enormous amount about Japan and I feel we understand the essence of the country after this fine tour.

Amazing day touring beautiful Kyoto by bike. We are an active family of 4, but thankfully I decided to upgrade my wife and daughter to ebikes while my son and I rode regular bikes. You don't realize but the km do accumulate by the end of the day, but totally worth it. Ray is a great guide and made things interesting while showing us around. Totally recommend.

The entire bike tour was amazing! Seeing the highlights, biking around the local streets and on the streets/paths outside of the city was all such an adventure and a lot of fun! And, our guide definitely was a big part of it with the information about each of the highlights we visited as well as about culture, history and present day news. 5 stars all around!

My husband and I only had a short time in Kyoto so we wanted to max our time. The tour covered a lot of ground and visited all the great sites of Kyoto. Our guide, Rob was AMAZING! He was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He made sure we were all engaged, safe, and having a nice time. And the bikes were all great quality and comfortable. Just a note, if you want an e-bike, you must bring cash with you to pay for the upgrade. I highly recommend this tour if you want to see Kyoto and all the sites of this beautiful city! Since we were on bikes we really were able to see the city in a way we couldn’t on foot.

This is truly a full day cycling tour with the must see things in Kyoto but also a glimpse of the country side outside Kyoto. One of the best cycling trips that I have done.
