Incredible experience with Juan & José, great professional! We were able to experience different situations during the whole morning (dolphins, sail fish which we were able to caught one of them, tunas etc) really recommend them!! This was my second time using Omar’s for our sport fishing adventure. Everything from the local pickup at our Airbnb to the fish cleaning at the end of the day was fantastic! While you never know if the fish are biting, we ended the day with three sailfish and a blue marlin! Captain Cherna was extremely knowledgeable and great to speak with. We’re already planning our next trip!

My husband and I went fishing with Omar in Feb 2024. The weather was beautiful with calm seas and clear water. First off, we caught and released a beautiful sailfish, but we were after dorado/mahi. By mid morning we had landed 2 large mahi. Most other boats that went out that day returned empty handed, but not Omar! He and his crew were extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly! Their equipment is top notch. We plan on fishing with them again when we come back next year.

Amazing fishing trip. It was an incredible experience. Unfortunately it was not the most successful fishing day but they made everything happen so we were able to catch two Mahi Mahi in the end. We also saw plenty of dolphins and sea turtles.

A day I will remember for the rest of my life, what an incredible man! Hospitality throughout the trip was amazing, I managed to land a fish of dreams (striped marlin). We also saw humpback whales and dolphins. The best day of my life.

First off, we arrive, and Omar was not among the captain or crew. I guess his presence was never explicitly agreed to, but it was surprising. Second off, while we understand there is no guarantee of catching a fish, we spent 5 hours on a boat with a cushion that was falling apart, minimal refreshments (just lukewarm bottles of water), no instruction from either of the crew members, and we caught literally no fish. Zero. None. It was a bad experience, and, having gone deep sea fishing a number of times, it was one I’ve never had before. Third off, and most importantly, when, after the trip, I mentioned the disappointment to Omar via What’s App and tried to ask for some kind of discount off the MXN 7,000 price, which discount he’s not obligated to give (we get that), his response was, at best, vaguely threatening, saying that we could “Pay what [we] feel to pay” but that he knows people. I’m still not 100% sure what to make of that interaction, but it definitely didn’t make me or my partner feel comfortable. We paid the amount in full to avoid what felt like might have turned into some sort of confrontation. Anyway, buyer and traveler beware I guess.

Caught 8 huge Mahi Mahi. Saw hundreds of Dolphins. What a blast. Omar and his deckhand Mar were fantastic. Highly recommend 👍

Hi, I went on a full day fishing trip with Omar's Sportfishing in December 2023 and it was a dream. Everyone knows that there is no guarantee of fish when fishing, but they really did their best and really know their craft. We caught some nice, big Mahi Mahi and finally a big blue marlin. I can only recommend Omar's Sportfishing, it was simply great

I’ve been fishing with Omar 3 times now. Every time I’ve caught amazing exotic fish. Omar is the best guy. His crew are knowledgeable and friendly. They are total pros who know how to fish. It’s like fishing in a fishing movie down here with Omar.

The captain is a pleasant and knowledgeable fisherman. Equipment is of good quality and well maintained. It was an excellent day on the water. We caught 8 mahi mahi. Unlike others I have fished Omar was quite happy to do catch and release. On several occasions we were amongst a large pod of dolphins. I have no hesitation recommending 'Omar's Sportsfishing' as an excellent and likely successful fishing experience

The tour is perfectly organized. They pick you up in the morning and drop you at the fishing port where the crew is already waiting. The crew speaks fluent english and they know a lot about the sea. Because it was to windy on the first day we were offered to postpone the trip on the next day, which shows that they really care about your experience. Thank you! We saw Dolphins, Wales, Turtles and caught Mahi Mahi and Sailfish! It was my first fishing experience on the open sea and I was amazed by the size and beauty of the fish we caught! We kept some of the fish and had it cooked in a restaurant back in the port at the end of our trip. We also took some of it home and made a delicious Ceviche. Would do it again 100%. :D

Great day out with very helpful Captain and crew. Would 100% recommend as a must do activity. We also saw turtles, hundreds of dolphins and caught lots of fish. The crew were so helpful cannot recommend enough.

This was my first time fishing in the Puerto Escondido waters. My expectations were well exceeded by Omar and his team. Jose and Chuma were excellent guides and treated us like family. My two friends and I caught 8 Mahi Mahi and I was lucky enough to catch a 35 kg Sailfish. Experience of a lifetime! I highly recommend Omars Sportfishing! Leonardo

None of us really knew what to expect, we didnt have any fishing experience but that didnt matter. We were so well taken care of by José and his co-captain and had an amazing morning - caught (and released!) a mighty sail fish, 3 mahi mahi which were deliciously cooked for lunch back at the beach, saw sea turtles and were lucky enough to have a pod of dolphins play alongside us on the way back. Cant recommend this experience more - a real highlight of our trip!
