I saw all kinds of animals of how they eat, protect their lives, in water and on land i.e hammer cop which builds the largest nest in the whole world. Jason our guide who took us through the tour is so knowledgeable, energetic, punctual,very experienced in driving, friendly and above all he is knowledgeable about wildlife in the park and birds. I highly recommend encounter africa safaris with Jason as the guide.

Fun experience! Our driver Obed was very knowledgeable about all the animals and birds we saw, including all the bird calls. He went out for extra time on the safaris to make sure we could see all the animals we could see. We found the tree climbing lions, elephants, hippos, gorillas, and even the rare leopard! Thank you Obed and the rest of the staff that helped me with my delayed flight!

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Upon an online enquiry, Denis got in touch and organised the entire trip for me and my father, nothing was too much for him and I definitely had many questions! He created our itinerary which was perfect and replied instantly to every message. Stephen our driver and guide for the 5 days picked up us on time from Entebbe,we had a huge 8 seater vehicle to ourselves and he was extremely friendly and really made our trip. He gave us knowledge about Uganda and even stopped at certain spots to point out monkeys etc. A stop at the equator was great and I managed to pick up some lovely local artwork. The gorillas were amazing, an hour and a half hike untill we found them, and Stephen was waiting to take us back to the hotel. We then drove on to Queen Elizabeth Park, and Stephen took us on 2 game drives, pointing out things we may never have seen! Hotel was lovely, really 5*, incredible food and pool and huge rooms with double beds. River safari was fantastic and got up close to Hippos and elephants. I would highly recommend Encounter Africa Safaris, the organisation and hospitality was amazing, ensuring our safety at all times. A 5* experience and thanks again to the team who made it so special for us. An unforgettable trip 😊

We had a great time on this trip a lot to do with our driver Stephen who was excellent. As well as being knowledgeable there wasn’t a thing he didn’t do to make our trip that bit more special even using his own monies to set up a SIM card for my daughter. The Goriila experience was awesome as were the night, day and river safaris. I’m The. Buffalo Lodge iwas better than many of the five star hotels I have stayed in. I would highly recommend this trip and company and to request Stephen as your driver.

We had a great time with Encounter Africa Safaris. Our guide Obed was a delight and really made sure we had the best time. We got so lucky with our trip, we were fortunate to see so much of the wildlife in Bwindi and queens national park. We did gorilla trekking then went to ishasha to search for tree climbing lions and then to another sector in Queens to see more wildlife and do a boat cruise. It was incredible! Highly recommend.

Great Trip! Monica organised everything perfectly! I guess nobody in Europe could have organised in a better way. Our driver Jason was polite, on time, very well educated (even at university) and could give us a deep insight of the challenges of Ruanda and Uganda, not only in terms of nature but also politics and day to day life; Jason was a very routines driver and we always felt very safe in his car which was also in perfect shape. Without Jason the trip would not be as it was. The lodges selected were perfect, except of Arcadia Lodge which clearly falls behind the category of the previous lodges we stayed in ( Gorilla Height Lodge and Elephants Plain Lodge). Great thanks to Monica and Jason to make our trip unforgettable! If ever back in Africa we definitely reach out to the two of them

Beside the terrific lodges we slept in the main reason for our wonderful trip was our driver/guide Jason: he told us everything about Ruanda/Uganda, he explained all the animals during our safari, he was very smart, well educated and attentive - perfect!! The whole trip was excellent organized!

We recently booked a holiday to Uganda and Tanzania with Encounter Africa Tours and Safaris. Our tour consultant Denis was just fantastic and provided all the information we could possibly need. Even though he is based in Uganda he went above and beyond to help with last minute problems with a visa for Tanzania. We were pleasantly surprised when we discovered that the whole holiday was booked for just the two of us. Patrick, our guide in Uganda, was absolutely wonderful, enormously knowledgeable, extremely kind and considerate. He was also good enough to share some of his personal experiences with us. This developed into a friendship we hope to maintain. Encounter Africa should be proud to have such a fantastic employee. In Tanzania Ernest was our guide and we hit the jackpot in terms of his extensive knowledge and understanding. He participated in writing a book about the Serengeti and was often consulted by other guides, even after hours to the point where he told us he was “unfortunately famous!” Ernest assisted another guide who was lost and this incident typified his kind and generous approach to looking after us. The whole experience was wonderful and way above expectations

I chose Encounter Safaris bec of all the excellent reviews. We just returned from a 2 week trip put together by them. My husband was primarily interested in Primates & monkeys. We did Gorilla, chimpanzee & golden monkey trekking, rhinos etc along with various activities and game drives on the way. Denis was quick to respond to my inquiries and patiently answered a bazillion questions. He put together an excellent itinerary! Thank you, Denis!! The main star of this trip was our guide. Obed is his name. We got to know him well after being on the road with him for 2 weeks. He was a park ranger for about 14 years & a guide for about 5 years. We managed to see the Big 5 of Africa bec of his expertise and skills! We are sooooo happy! ❤️ We witnessed how good he was in trouble shooting. We encountered some minor vehicle issues and he did his best to get them fixed without causing any delays or problems with our trip. He knows a lot of people and seems to be well received and loved wherever we went. All of them spoke highly of him. Owners, managers, staff & other guides seemed to respect him and his opinion. He always went above and beyond to give us the best experience each day. He was also flexible and sensitive to our needs. But we always deferred and listened to him. And he was always right. On a game drive, he suggested we wake up extra early and we are so glad we listened to him coz those were the days we saw the leopards (yes, plural! We saw 4 in our trip!) and the lions with cubs (7 lions total) His ability to spot these animals while driving is incredible! We learned a lot from him and I was able to help spot 2 of the leopards on our trip 😂 The customer service in most of the lodges and hotels were excellent! We esp enjoyed Mhingo Lodge, Buffalo Safari Lodge and 4 Gorillas. 4 Gorillas, I believe, had the best customer service out of all of them! Staff were quick to respond to any concerns and were attentive. I really needed to pee after a drive and it had started to rain, i ran up the steps towards our cottage and the staff ran after me with an umbrella! They also helped us with our hiking boots and laundry. That’s customer service! Lake Chahafi had a great location on a lake but the road to get to them, was quite bumpy. Papaya Lodge had beautiful cottages and lake views, but customer service was inconsistent. I feel that the staff needs more training at Papaya esp after staying in all the other lodges. I do not recommend Papaya Lodge if you are elderly or have physical limitations coz it is quite a hike to get from the cottages to the main building. You cannot charge your phone in their cottages. Paraa Lodge is older but has maintained it’s old world charm. Our suite was excellent! And customer service was good as well. We absolutely loved Murchison Falls National Park. The Marriott Protea had a great location on Lake Victoria, but the hotel is kinda dated. The manager, Charles, was very attentive and made sure our stay and needs were taken cared of. Overall, it will be very hard to top this vacation. This has been our best vacation ever! No joke. We were delightfully surprised with the warmth and attention we have gotten from the Ugandan staff and people we encountered. One final tip, pls be kind and considerate of all the staff esp your guide/driver. Make sure they are rested and taken cared of as well and respect their expert suggestions and tips to make your trip more memorable. Pls also share your pics and videos to your guide, so they can post on the Encounter Safaris IG page or tag the IG page (Lola) . And if they deserve it, pls tip them well! I can wholeheartedly recommend this tour. It was awesome! My guide and driver for the 5 days was Stephen. He was friendly and knowledgeable. It was great meeting him. The selection of food, restaurants and hotels/lodges was great as well. It was always comfortable to sleep and no issues with mosquitos. The animals you see on the tour are breathtaking! Lions, leopards, elephants (two even roamed the lodge 😍), buffalo, hippos, crocodiles and more are all part of the wildlife at Elizabeth National Park. Then of course the gorillas of Bwindi Forest! This was unreal, you could see them at such a close range and experience them in their natural habitat. Simply amazing, a trip of a lifetime! Maybe two comments of note: you are in the car quite a lot. The animals of course don't live near the cities, so the trips can be long and a bit bumpy. But even driving in the car is fun, as you can see different parts of Uganda and different people as well. Also, your guide makes the ride fun as well. The other topic is the communication. At first my trip was not registered with my tour operator. The problem was the messages via the TripAdvisor App didn't come through to the operator. In the end everything worked out, Encounter Africa even came to my hotel to figure out the best plan to carry out the tour and they were constantly checking up on me via WhatsApp as soon as we connected. So my advice, if you have a question before the trip, ask them directly via email or telephone, not via the messaging service of the app. Although, also in this regard, TripAdvisor itself was also very helpful. So, in conclusion, go on this trip! You will never forget it 😍

The whole experience, from start to finish, was absolutely amazing. Adams is THE MAN!! Everything ran seamlessly, from pick up to drop off. Adams was great at keeping us entertained and providing us with lots of information about Rwanda and Uganda, throwing in lots of experiences along the way. The gorilla trekking was absolutely amazing. Our entire group agreed it was one of the best experiences of our lives. If you're thinking of doing this safari, DO IT!!! You won't regret it.

I booked my trip with Encounter Africa Safaris. It was a five das trip As a solo traveller. Dennis, the organiser, was extremely helpful and caring during the whole trip (even before and after). My tour guide, Patrick, was amazing and very funny. He was encouraging and thoughtful the whole time. He also protected me and shared a lot of laughs together. My partner an I had the most incredible vacation! It is difficult figuring out which safari company to choose since there are so many. BOOK THIS ONE!! We travel the world and visit several countries a year. We wanted the best and we got it! We went on a 15 day safari in Uganda. I customized it with the help of Denis. Denis was so patient with me in the planning process. He was so quick to respond and give feedback via WhatsApp. Denis planned everything. Our guide/driver was Steven. Steven made our trip amazing. Steven is amazing! The trip was everything I wanted it to be. Steven went above and beyond to make sure all of our experiences was what we wanted. The exact trip would not have been the same without Steven. If you want a guarantee incredible Safari company this one is it. To name a few things we did .. we went chimpanzees trekking, climbed Mt. Stanley in the Rwenzori Mountains, Queen Elizabeth National Park (Stayed at the Buffalo lodge which was my favorite) we saw elephants from our room. I loved the riverboat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park (tons of elephants and hippos) The river boat cruise in Lake Mburo National Park was amazing (saw HUGE crocodiles, tons of hippos, variety of birds. Uganda has so much to see and do. Things to know: You need a yellow fever vaccine to enter Uganda. You must have the vaccine to apply for a visa (you upload a picture of proof when during the visa application process)

Seamless experience from start to finish. Great communication with Denis when booking. Denis gave me several options for lodges/tours and provided guidance along the way when deciding which was the best option for me in order to maximize my time in Uganda. He promptly answered my many questions and was able to adjust my itinerary two weeks before my departure (including quickly securing a new date for my gorilla permit) when I had an unexpected last minute change. Upon arrival, driver/guide Godwin provided excellent service from start to finish - because of Godwin’s excellent guiding I was able to cover a lot of ground, see and learn many things about Uganda during my short 5 day tour. I had an unexpected delayed flight upon arrival and Godwin was able to adjust to a different border crossing (which was a much longer route) effortlessly driving in the dark on bumpy mountainous roads in order to ensure we made it to the lodge in time for my gorilla trek the next morning. All of the lodge choices were top notch with excellent service. I would recommend using Encounter for all of your safari needs. I will be booking with them in the future when I return to see more of Uganda!

Top class establishment! Would recommend them for sure. We did a 3 day gorilla trekking with them, and it was very well organized and communication was great. We dealt with Denis via email and Martin was our driver. We were picked up promptly at 0600 for our journey to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Unfortunately the main raid was washed out so we had to take a detour so the journey from Entebbe to the forest was a long trek. It was about 10-11hrs. Our driver, Martin was excellent. He was friendly, and made several stops along the way and tried to help us find some Jackfruit! On the way back unfortunately we got stuck in brutal traffic. But Martin did his best. Martin our driver was great! The gorilla Trekking was amazing! Oh my goodness. We loved it. It was so worth it. So the only thing that I could maybe suggest is that when Denis first replies to an email, let the clients know that you MUST apply for an online, not in the airport like a Uganda used to do. And that you also MUST have yellow fever vaccination, and it must be fine 10 days before you arrive. I knew you needed a visa, but when my wife was previously in Uganda, you got a visa at the airport. It could have been really bad had we not figured that out. That’s the only advice I would offer. It was stated that the Visa cost was not included in the price, but we thought originally it was like Tanzania where you get the visa when you arrive. But I would highly recommend them. I might recommend doing another tour while you’re up there. As it was a long long drive for the gorilla trekking, while of course it was well worth it, I almost wish that Denis tried to upswell me and we stayed out that way for another day or 2 and did maybe chimp trekking or something like that! 5/5 for sure!
