We went on a 4 night Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan on MS Mayfair and we had an absolutely amazing trip. The boat is beautiful and the staff were fantastic, everyone was super friendly and the service was top notch, exactly what you'd expect (if not better!) from such a superb boat. Everything was spotlessly clean, the rooms and common areas were gorgeous and the sun deck was spacious with lots of little cabanas/sun beds. Throughout the trip we had a private guide (Mohammed from Aswan) and he was fantastic. He's got many years of experience as a guide, he's a trained Egyptologist and ancient Egypt is his passion and you can see that. He's a wealth of knowledge and he was patient explaining for the 5th time which pharaoh/god was which. :) Mohammed organised the taxis/transports from the boat to each of the sites and they say everything went super smoothly. There are a lot of people who are trying to sell you things especially at the touristy sites and Mohammed treated them all with dignity and respect while keeping us comfortable, which was really nice. We loved all the temples and we're still in awe how old, incredibly detailed and impressive they all were. The big daddy of all, Abu Simbel, was breathtaking and absolutely worth the 3hr drive there. Overall, excellent experience organised by a professional company and a brilliant guide!

Everything in the description of this tour came true and delivered as promised with excellent communication. That alone put this tour among our best experiences. Private tour is the way to go. Our guide for the whole trip, Ahmed Salama was a true pro and I really liked the way he worked with the two of us to understand what was important to us to experience while setting up each day for us to maximize our Egyptian experience. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and accessible. Highly recommend him personally. The ship crew would bend over backwards to help and all our asks were met. Final day you have the option to add a day-trip and although we were unable to do the Abu Simbel trip, he chartered a boat for us on the Nile and visited the Nubian villages which was a great, fun and relaxing way to end our journey. Egypt overall was such a great trip I will be back next time with my kids and will again use Egypt Unlimited and Ahmed Salama. Thank you for making those memories for me and my Father.

The Nile River cruise on the Kemet was the highlight of an amazing two weeks that we spent in Egypt. The dahabiya is gorgeous – whoever decorated has great taste. The staff were welcoming and attentive to whatever we needed to feel comfortable. The rooms were large and comfortable and there were plenty of common areas to hang out in and relax. There was a good mix of departing the boat to tour temples or villages and also time gliding along the Nile watching the sunset. I want to give a special “shout out” to the chef and staff. My husband and I requested vegan meals, and the chef exceeded our expectations on what he could create. Not only delicious regular meals, but also baking sweets for tea-time and desserts. The vegan food was so good that the other guests on the boat also ate it and were amazed. The food came “in waves” for each meal – there was so much food! We plan on visiting Egypt again and bringing our daughters. A cruise on the Kemet will be the cornerstone of the next trip.

What an ideal tour this is. We booked this holiday on a whim at a few days notice when my wife and I realised we had a free week. You really get to tour a collection of Egypt’s major sights in just a handful of days in 1st class comfort. The mornings are packed with wonders and culture and the afternoons are spent lounging in the comfort of the boat, eating fantastic meals and soaking up the sights and sleep in the sun of the lovely deck. None of the Nile boats are stunning from the outside but onboard they’re great. Mustapha our guide was knowledgeable & friendly & helped us to get the most from our trip - tailoring our adventure to our needs. We added a sunrise balloon ride over Luxor that was utterly magical!

Our vessel, the Carnival, proved to be well-equipped and responsive to our needs. A Nile river cruise should be on everyone's bucket list. It is an experience that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. Thanks to our highly knowledgeable and competent guide Sayed, we had an unforgettable time. His wealth of knowledge on the history of Egypt unlocked the wonders of this ancient nation and made it come alive. For a personalised and tailormade programme of excursions, Sayed is your man. We will certainly insist on having him as our guide on our next visit to Egypt.

Perhaps a little disappointing that we did not get the boat that we had booked in advance, but the old boat that we had was OK, and the crew friendly and nice. We advice others to have something to eat before arriving by air from Cairo in the morning, because you are taken directly to a several hours tour in Aswan and don't get anything but water before late lunch when you arrive at the boat in the afternoon. Otherwise everything was very good, like a dream to sail on the Nile, on a nice ship with good food and drinks. And, our guide, Mohammad, took excellent care of us from the very beginning to the end. He spoke good English (even though at times a little fast), and is very knowledgeable about ancient history and everything that was to see at all the temples and the graves that we saw. And, at the end of the tour, he arranged for a car at a reasonable price to bring us to our next destination at the Red Sea. We don't know about the other Guides, but Mohammad was excellent.

This tour was overwhelmingly wonderful. Our guide, Mohammed Ahmed, was extremely knowledgeable with every site we visited. It was amazing to see all the history in the region and equally amazing to be accompanied by someone who was an expert in all of it. We cannot recommend this trip enough.

Mahmoud Noor was our tour guide for this trip and he was fabulous! He not only enthusiastically shared his extensive knowledge of Egypt's history and culture, he was instrumental in helping us get the right price for our souvenirs, helped us find and use ATMs, purchase water at a reasonable price, and even helped those who needed to stop at a pharmacy. Mahmood was so very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable that I can't imagine there being a better tour guide than him! Egypt Tours Portal made it very easy to add on extra activities which we were interested in doing and exceedingly helpful when my return flight home was canceled and I needed to add an extra night at a hotel and an extra day of sightseeing.

Mohamed Abdelghany was our tour guide for our recent trip to Luxor and Aswan. He was absolutely amazing! Mohamed has a vast knowledge of Egyptian history and culture, and he was able to make the ancient temples and tombs come alive for us. He was also a great storyteller, and he kept us entertained with his tales of the pharaohs and their gods. We especially enjoyed our visit to the Valley of the Kings, where Mohamed showed us the tombs of Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and other famous pharaohs. He was able to answer all of our questions about the tombs and share some of his favorite portions of the temple. We also visited Karnak Temple and Edfu Temple, and Mohamed was able to give us a fascinating tour of both. He explained the symbolism of the temples, and he showed us some of the hidden chambers and pointed out so many things we would have missed on our own, not to mention some of the best places to take photographs! Mohamed is a true Egyptologist, and he is passionate about his work. He is also a great people person, and he made us feel like we were part of his family. We highly recommend Mohamed Abdelghany as a tour guide, and we would love to go back to Egypt with him again someday. Overall, Mohamed Abdelghany was an amazing tour guide. He is knowledgeable, passionate, and friendly. We highly recommend him to anyone who is planning a trip to Egypt.

Loving every minute of this tour. Probably the best tour I’d ever done and I’d been to at least 26 countries so I’d done many tours. Our tour guide Sayed exceeded all expectations and is amazing, we never had to worry about anything and he took the best care of us, it was like going on vacation with a family. He also took us to Nubian village which we would never have found out by ourselves or even have known how to get there and it was one of my favorite parts of the tour, he even told us how much we should pay or tip so we never overpaid for anything. I loved the experience so much so I highly highly recommend it. Sayed is also very knowledgeable about the history and facts but he also allows us enough time to browse, take pictures and rest, he also has connections everywhere so we rarely ever have to wait for any attractions visits and we saw long lines of other people everywhere else, he’s made this trip perfect and I wouldn’t have had this level of experience if it wasn’t for him, so if you’re considering joining the tour 100% you should do it, better yet you should request Sayed when booking the tour specifically. I promise you won’t regret.

Accommodation: The boat was definitely not a 5-star cruise. The photos are not at all representative of what you get in terms of accommodation and we were very disappointed from the moment we got on the boat as it was well below our expectations. What you get is more of a 3-star. The accommodation was still good, but we thought we were getting better. Also, I didn’t like that the boat had a clothing shop with the merchant asking you if you wanted to buy something every time you passed him on the way to your room… Guide: Our guide Mahmoud was excellent. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and fun to talk to. The only thing I would have preferred is if he customized his style more to us rather than do it his own way. For example he often made us walk and listen to him talk before leaving us to explore freely. I’m a photographer and I would have preferred to have him accompany us throughout the complex and explain things as I’m shooting. I need the freedom to explore and ask questions - this is the reason I book private tours. Nevertheless, Mahmoud was an amazing guide. Transportation: overall good transportation, but a few of the cars had tight legroom because they were sedans. A 5-star tour on Viator usually has an SUV.

Amazing experience with a great guide who shared a lot of knowledge with us and also have us free time to explore at each site. Food was good on the boat and rooms are clean and comfortable.

Ancient Egypt is a source for many of childhood wonder. Pyramids, animal headed gods and temples. To actually experience the glory of this ancient civilization is something else. Modern Egypt maybe a juxtaposition of ancient majesty and modern deprivation but a more welcoming and hospitable people you will not find. Yes, you will need to tip for everything but that is the reality of a country that has been subjected to repeated colonial rule and home grown dictators! The people experience a great deal of hardship, so put yourself in their position and be generous! A 2-week tour of Cairo, Giza, Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel allows you enough time to see these major sites but you will also leave out much of what this amazing country had to offer. To get the most out of your time there are 3 things I would recommend... 1 a thoroughly planned itinerary with every detail considered, to that end Egypt Unlimited should be your first choice. 2 take a cruise down the Nile. There are faster ways to see Egypt but there are none that are more evocative. The nile has been the source of life for Egypt for thousands of years and to understand that, you must experience the river. 3 a guide who knows the highlights, the context of history, and can bring to life stories that were first told 4000 years ago. That's Mo, his knowledge, humor and experience ensure that as his guest you will get the very most from your visit to Egypt.

I booked this trip because I had heard that it was amazing. The cruise was excellent, the service on the ship was very good. The guide assigned to me, named Samar Mansour, was wonderful. She is always willing to help me and answer all my questions about Egyptian monuments and culture. He knows a lot about the history of the monuments. Every day I was surprised by the energy I had, while fasting (I went in Ramadan). She is also an excellent photographer. 100% recommended the trip.

The tour was Amazone, the temple of Edfu was Magnificent. And the temple of Karnak was also very impressive. Our guide, Emad knew a lot, was very friendly and arranged everything for us

Very efficiently organised with dedicated staff waiting for us at every step of our journey. Really private (a guide for just the two of us). Our guide (Mustaffa) traveled with us during the whole cruise and guided us very professionally with plenty of personalisation. All tickets were taken care of. The quality of the personal cars and drivers was excellent. The agency helped us also with our delayed luggage. We were never pushed to visit any shops or factories. Highly recommendable!

Our Guide In Cairo for the first 2 days was Nevin Morris, who was so in knowledgable on everything and took us to experience all other things off the usual agenda. The Amir Al Shakairy who join us for our Nile Cruise from Luxor was amazing: His historical knowledge and conveying 'it to us at each site was extraordinary . He really made the trip amazing for us and would recommend anyone and all to ask for his guidance on their trip t¡o Egypt.
