Viator review ⭐️ I will start with the only thing that earned one star on this trip, our guide. GUIDE AND TOUR Ahmed was knowledgeable, well spoken and his English is excellent. However, there were some questionable decisions made for us during the trip: - on the first day, we should have checked in at the cruise first before going sightseeing. We missed lunch, got the worst rooms and dinner table due to us checking in late - Abu simbel costs extra $120 USD per person, not including tip. This is very high compared to market price $80. Additionally, We were asked to pay for 2 drivers since it was a 3 hour drive to and fro, but only one driver was driving. The other “driver” got in late and went home early. - On the Horse carriage rides to and from edfu temple, we didn’t know we were supposed to tip driver after the return trip. After the first driver took our money and left, the second driver got an extra big tip because he got to carry 2 extra people on the ride. CRUISE Definitely not luxury cruise as claimed.. we felt a little bit cheated. MS royal adventure is 1-star cruise in our opinion— outdated, shabby, and worst of all, extremely poorly maintained. Cleanliness deserves 0 stars. - The bathrooms leak, the sink and shower floods. The toilets are unsanitary and drip water constantly. The shower room does not close. towels are gray from wear and tear. They reuse the cartons and containers for soap and shower gels. The cups look dirty and unwashed. - There are pieces of hair on the beds. The mattresses sink. The carpet floor does not seem to have been vacuumed for many years - the room smells, and there are clicking noises from ventilation throughout the night. The windows barely offer sound blocking - The food served is mediocre at best. Breakfast is worst, not much protein options, too much of bread and cakes, refined carbs and sugar. Dinner is the best meal out of the three but it is served very late. There should have been a separate line for the eggs, everyone has to wait in line for the eggs to cook, while no one can get to the dishes beside the eggs. - Quality of guests is poor. I saw a guest pick up food from the table and throw it back into the food trays. The staff do not help clean up the floors when kids drop food. - Only one key card per room is allowed, not a big deal, but a slight nuisance. No free WiFi - Timing & schedule was not shared beforehand. We had to ask for the schedule each day. Even then, the meeting times were often late or no show and we had to ask again. The boat docks at weird times, the tour schedule is very strange— starting from 5am - 7am sightseeing, then nothing all the way until late evening 7pm - 9pm, sometimes we had to rush at the evening tour or miss it entirely because sites already closed when we arrived. Mealtimes are very late, not a set time everyday and doesn’t work around our schedule. breakfast is 7am or 8am, lunch 1pm or 1:30pm, dinner 8pm

We did the cruise on the Prince Omar boat and had Karam as our guide. The boat is old but clean and has everything that you need. We have great respect for the wonderful crew that worked very hard to accommodate their guests. Our guide also had great knowledge about the historic sites and has a good sense of humor. We would have missed a lot of details if we did not have him with us. If this is your first time traveling in Egypt do try to research it. The tipping culture is something to get used to, admission fees to all the sites do add up, there are an exhausting amount of street vendors at the sites. These downsides are not something the Nile Cruise operators can do something about but be aware that this is part and parcel. At least doing it as a Nile Cruise makes it less difficult to deal with the things mentioned above.

Overall a very varied trip with lots of fascinating site visits rich of history but also enough time in between to relax. The ship "Prince Omar" was cozy and the staff very friendly and helpful. Sadly there weren't any shows during the cruise. Luckily my tour guide Karam was there to make our stay even more comfortable and interesting with his knowledge about all the places. I also enjoyed some deep conversations with him.

Embarking on the Egypt Royal Adventure cruise was an extraordinary journey, immersing me in the captivating history of ancient Egypt, extending from the grandeur of the High Dam to the nuances of the Low Dam. The entire experience was elevated by an exceptional crew, encompassing dedicated staff members and the talented Head Chef, Mr. Hijazi. A highlight of the expedition was our insightful tour guided by the knowledgeable Mr. Alaa. His expertise not only enriched my understanding of ancient Egyptian times but also brought to life the significant man-made history along the dams. The trip was not merely a sightseeing venture; it was a truly wonderful and engaging experience on multiple fronts. The meticulous attention of the staff, coupled with the culinary delights crafted by Mr. Hijazi, added a delightful touch to the journey. Every aspect of the cruise, from the historical narratives to the delectable meals, contributed to an enriching and enjoyable adventure. As a result of this immersive experience, my appreciation and love for Egyptian history have expanded significantly. The journey fostered a deep fondness for the rich cultural tapestry that Egypt holds. The Egypt Royal Adventure cruise stands as a testament to the seamless blend of history, hospitality, and culinary excellence, making it a memorable and rewarding exploration.

I don't even know where to begin, this was the BEST family trip we have ever had. It was 6 yr's since our last trip, with 4 children aged 17 to 3, and it was honestly the most incredible experience we have had which was on a budget and allowed us to experience so much for a great price. I need to mention the professionalism of the staff, from our tour guide Alaa to the ships kitchen staff lead by Chef Hejazi, this was a 5 star team who went the extra mile everyday to ensure our 8 people group had the best experience possible. The boat trip from Aswan to Luxor was spectacular, incredible scenery and such a calm and enjoyable trip. The staff was great. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was amazing each day. Honestly my family felt like they were at home with their family each time. Hassan was so nice, my 3 yrs old looked for him everyday. Chef Hijazi is seriously a five star executive chef, everything we ate was brilliant. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. In fact, we wish he was there everywhere else we went, the food was that good. The trip was incredible, each day we had incredible tours. Mr. Alaa's knowledge of Ancient Egyptian history is second to none. Alaa is the one and only person I would recommend anyone to tour Egypt with. His explanation, story telling, touring agenda and thoughtfulness for his tour group was extremely impressive. In between each day we visited incredible spice, tea, cloths and perfume stores, he knew exactly where to find anything we wanted to purchase. His English is perfect and he was able to explain each and every aspect of the temples, ancient Egyptian religion and belief to all members of my family perfectly. We honestly learnt so much I can never thank him enough. Each day felt like it ran smoothly without any issues, but I know Alaa worked incredibly hard behind the scenes to make sure it was smooth. Honestly we did not want our trip to end. We could have gone up and down the Nile for weeks surrounded by incredible people and nature. It was a blessing and perfect trip. We loved this trip, and we love the people we met.

We took a cruise with Karam as our guide and it was outstanding! First off, the boat was such a unique and luxurious experience. The staff were so kind and friendly, the food was delicious and the room was much nicer than we expected. The bathrooms looked brand new and those hot showers were so welcome at the end of the day. We were even greeted with adorable towel sculptures on our beds each day! Our boat, the Magic Nile, had only 8 cabins which was definitely the way to go over a larger one. There was only one other couple on board with us during the trip and we felt very well taken care of. Relaxing on the upper deck while floating down the Nile was such a lovely way to unwind and we loved seeing the Egyptian landscape along the way. Karam was the best tour guide we have ever had anywhere around the world. We communicated in advance via WhatsApp and he was always helpful and on time with a smile on his face. His English is great but his passion and genuine care for us was even better. It can be intimidating to be in a foreign country when you don't understand the language or culture, but we always felt extremely well taken care of and by the end of the trip Karam was part of our family! The pace was perfect and he frequently checked in with us to make sure we were doing okay. He answered our millions and millions of questions with patience and grace, and what he didn't know he looked up and reported back to us the next day. We enjoyed spending "Egyptian Nights" with him chatting and laughing over coffee for hours about cultural differences and slang and getting to know more about him as well. We loved all of the small details and rich history he shared about each location -- it was obvious he loves what he does and is very proud of his country's history! Towards the end our mom got sick and he went out of his way to check on her, bring her bananas, get her medicine, and even brought her flowers to cheer her up! (We're still working on her to sign that "contract" for you Karam haha!) We 1000% recommend Karam, you will have the best time! Otherwise - would not recommend this for elderly or very small children as there was a bit of climbing out over the roofs/decks of other boats at some ports to get on/off the boat, so you should be somewhat mobile to enjoy. Be sure to have a bunch of extra pounds on hand for tipping drivers etc., as well as USD if you do any of the extra add-on tours. Dendara was a wonderful addition!

A nice relaxing cruise along the Nile River, dotted with ancient temples and green farmland. The room on board was comfortable, the food was good, and the staff & crew were wonderful. However, the trips at our stops Kom Ombo & Edfu were very rushed. It was worst for Edfu as we ended up spending less than 30 minutes at the temple and we felt short-changed after paying EGP300 for the entrance fee.

Overall we had a nice time on our Nile Cruise. The boat was comfortable, the staff were very kind and the food was amazing! Our tour guide for the trip, Alladine, was very knowledgeable. Keep in mind that you do have to pay for entry at all the sights which is not included but they do add up. Also the optional extra tours we felt were extremely overpriced and often didn’t include entry prices either - which is fine but they were not very transparent about this. I would recommend getting in writing what is included in each tour before purchasing. Don’t let this deter you though, the cruise is still an iconic activity - just keep in mind that this is the nature of the tourism industry in Egypt. Thank you again for having us

Of our 10-day trip in Egypt, our Nile River cruise was definitely a highlight! Our tour guide, Karem, was waiting for us at Aswan airport and immediately, our sightseeing began. He was our guide throughout the tour and communicated with me via WhatsApp throughout and even before we left the US. Most days, we were up early for sightseeing, but that was OK, as we were still adjusting to the time change and naturally waking up quite early. Karem kept us ahead of the crowds and was very knowledeable about the sites and history. We hit ALL of the sites included and purchased the Abu Simbel add-on as a shared trip. I was not told ahead of time that I'd need to pay in USD for the add-on. Fortunately, I keep some emergency cash on hand. Be sure to confirm the method of payment for add-ons and plan accordingly ahead of time. As for the shared trip, we were expecting a van, but instead, were in a sedan with another American couple for the 3 hours each way. There was also no guide included, which we later learned was an error on the travel agency's part. Either way, it was amazing to see, but recommend asking for a van or go private and ensure there's a guide included. Be prepared to bring plenty of egyptian pounds with you for tipping. Karem was great about providing tip recommendations throughout our trip. Food is included on the cruise, but all drinks, including water (about $2 USD for each large bottle), will be charged to your room. You'll settle up on the day of your final night's stay via cash or credit card and then continue to pay for any drinks by cash after that. Wait to tip the boat crew until the end of the cruise. You'll leave the tip with the front desk attendant. Also, be sure to retrieve your passport if they held on to it. I believe they need it in the beginning to take a photo copy, but after that, you can request it back. We were on the Opera Nile Cruise ship. The food was OK, not great. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet the most. They sat us with other English-speaking guests, which was wonderful, as we made friends with 2 women from Australia. I'm normally a wine or gin and tonic drinker, but there was no tonic, so I mostly drank gin and club soda. For beer, there was only Stella. For a mostly dry country, the alcohol was much appreciated. It was 100+ degrees farenheit during our time on the cruise, so I very much enjoyed the roof top pool. Otherwise, our room's AC worked great. The bathroom and shower, though a bit outdated, were just fine for our needs. On our last day in Luxor, Karem recommended lunch at a place called El Hussein, which for the equivalent of $11 USD per person, included 3 courses. It was one of the best meals we had in Egypt. The only thing I wish we would've known ahead of time was that you cannot enter the Luxor airport more than 2 hours before your flight time. Our flight was pushed back and we ended up having 4 hours to kill before we could enter the airport. The only place to wait is an outdoor "cafeteria." It had been 100+ degrees, so we were stuck outside waiting. Be sure to have a plan if your flight is late afternoon or evening. Finally, there are times during the trip where you'll be in some tourist trap situations. They'll try to sell you oil, spices, and pottery items after treating you to a cold or hot beverage. You can say, "no," or ask to skip those stops all together. We ended up buying oil and likely spending way more money than they were worth. We learned our lesson after that. In summary, this Nile cruise offers an excellent deal for exploring Egypt's treasures with a knowledgeable guide. Karem's guidance made our trip extra special. Don't miss the chance to embark on this unforgettable journey.

Thank you to our guide, Gad Ali, a fan of Egypt and his story. We discovered many things thanks to him. He facilitated our stay on and off the boat during the visit. I truly recommend him.

What made our experience wonderful was the staff plus a guide. The boat was clean ( even though certain bathrooms should be renovated) the food was good. Visits , on the other hands, not enjoyable. At each visit there were many, many ships ( sometimes 10/11) at the same sites. Normally that caused an enormous crowd. Plus we had 50 min or an hour for a guided tour. We were rushed from one point of the temple to the other. And we so much noise and watching where to go it was not a pleasant experience. On the other hand the tour we had the first day when our guide Karram ( sorry if I misspelled it) picked us up was more relaxed, thorough and enjoyable. Overall, sailing on the Nile was wonderful , but tours not really.

I arrived in Aswan at around 10AM Wednesday and immediately explored Aswan, including the Aswan Dam, and the Philae Temple, and the Nubian villages along the Nile. The following Day I woke up early to travel to Abu Simbel by car for a rly exciting visit there before the cruise left that afternoon. We arrived at Kom Ombo that night and continued the third day to Edfu. There was a lot of night life on the cruise, and it was really fun to spend time with the others with me who were close to my age. The final day I spent in Luxor. From the monuments to an incredible hot air balloon ride, everything was amazing and I had a few stops at some shops along the way as well. Abu Simbel, hot air balloon, and tickets aren’t included but everything is worth it!

We enjoyed our cruise on the Royal Viking very much. Rooms were nice, service was great, food was great. Wifi not included. Beautiful scenery as we cruised the Nile. Our tour guide Karam was extremely helpful and attentive, we felt we were in good hands. he really went out of his way to keep our kids (10, 13, and 15) happy - not always easy. We learned a lot as we toured the temples and tombs- incredible! Guests should be aware that there are a lot of extra costs. Each temple/tomb entrance ranged from 300-1000 Egyptian pounds for our family of 5, and anyone that helps you in any way expects a tip - don’t do what we did though and tip the waiters on the boat! You’re supposed to leave a generous tip at the end for the whole boat. And one does feel pressure to do the extra trips, and lots of pressure to buy from every shop you pass. Morning tours are early and fast paced, so a bit exhausting but this is Egypt! You have to see all you can. Also FYI Trying to Enter Edfu temple there were so many tourists at one time the crowd crush got quite scary.

This was such a wonderful experience and I am so glad i made it part of my trip to Egypt. The boat was a nice and a very relaxing way to travel down the Nile while visiting a lot of interesting sites along the way. The crew on board was amazing and helpful and kept my room clean and my stomach full! I also booked with a private guide, Karam, who was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable and I learned so much about the history and culture from him. He was helpful and quick to solve any problems that came up. He also was so welcoming and stopped with me to get Egyptian coffee, some local fruit, and anything else I needed along the way. Although some of the sites were crowded with other cruise passengers, he was knowledgeable about how best to navigate and get through the crowds and I know that is something that I wouldn't have been able to accomplish on my own. If you're thinking of booking a cruise and guide, don't miss this one!

We booked the cruise from Luxor to Aswan and everything exceeded our expectations. We went for spanish guides and throughout the trip the guides were very knowledgeable and spoke good Spanish. We learned a lot during our trip and everyone was very nice and made our experience better, including the drivers! The cruise was also nice, comfortable nice room and good food- amazing value for price. We ran into an issue with one of our tours and Aladdin was very efficient, swiftly found a solution which was suitable for us and made sure we were taken care properly afterwards. It’s noticeable that the whole team care about their customers and they’re honest people, which is very valuable! Would recommend to anyone traveling to Egypt. Shukran!!

Me and my boyfriend did the Aswan to Luxor cruise of 4 days/3 nights. The company gets you a private guide and books a room on a 5 star cruiseboat for you. At the first morning our guide Gad picked us up and he provided us with all of his care and knowledge during the 4 days. Gad clearly knew what he was talking about and told us magical stories about the ancient Egyptians, learned us to interpret/read hieroglyphs, but also gave us a little more insight in how modern Egyptians live. He answered all of our questions and all the sites we went to were amazing. The cruiseboat itself was also really good, really clean, big room and the food buffets were of a high quality. We would highly recommend this tour and thank you Gad for everything!

Great expierence. Private tours let you go where ever you want, instead of being stuck with a tour group. Karam and Marwa were especially helpful guides.

The tour guide was nothing but helpful and went the extra mile just to make me feel comfortable, he definitely made the experience better, in general, everybody from the agency was great. The cruise itself was good and meals were provided, the only problem was leaving the cruise since there were always people trying to sell you things but it's the same everywhere. There were some minor issues with some people from the cruise but it wasn't much tho. Be aware that extra cost for entries/transport can make the experience more expensive than you expect but still a good price/quality relationship.
