Really enjoyed this trip. Mihai looked after us really well, and he has superb knowledge of the history of the region. Accommodation in the traditional hotels was really comfortable. Plan to do the more northern leg next time!

Absolutely beautiful tour of Romania with our new friend Mihai, who was always enthusiastic about sharing knowledge of his home country. If you're comparing tours, know that Mihai and his company provide a customizable experience, in a comfortable vehicle, and he is honestly the best driver I've experienced in visits to over 65 countries. Driving the transfagarasan on this tour was an absolute delight, seeing the beauty of the countryside, the "real" Dracula castle, and several adorable brown bears along the way. Definitely my go to guide for my next visit!

Our tour with Mihai was fantastic!!! Not only did we see the sights and learn history along the way, but we also learned about life, culture, education, and society in Romania today. Mihai was generous in providing his personal story so that we could fully appreciate his country. In every way, his tourism expertise and services were superb. My husband and I highly recommend him.

We just returned from our wonderful trip to Romania. Alin was our guide. He did a great job showing us the beauty of his country. The trip was perfect in every way. We were able to experience interactions with locals that would have not been possible without him.

We did this 4 day private Transylvania tour along with another couple with Mihai from Bucharest prior to our river cruise and it was beyond our expectations. From our initial email to the last (and we sent many inquiring about the tour) Mihai's responses were always prompt and very helpful. You will feel like you are travelling with your best friend or a family member. He knows Romania in detail and provides extraordinary knowledge of his beautiful country. He is very flexible as we added a trip to Villa Vinea Winery which was wonderful and worth the side trip. He offers several choices for accommodations, all of which are unique in their own ways. After reflecting on our 21 day river cruise from Bucharest to Amsterdam, we have to say that this tour with Mihai to Transylvania was at the top of the list of our most memorable experiences ever. From the first email I sent to Mihai I knew he got what I wanted. He tweaked the tour as we had 6 people, pickup at airport, hotels he nailed, drive to port last day. Peles Castle, Bran Castle, Brasov, Cluj all the hotels were boutique and very easy to work with. Every suggestion he made as "value added" was appreciated. Most days started with a walking tour of wherever we happened to be, and then some driving, lunch, we visited a coppersmith, a weaver, the Salt Mines (very cool) and so many castles and citadels I lose track. Was a super super awesome land tour before our River cruise and actually it was 5 or 6 days as he customized perfectly. I don't have a favorite day, I loved every day and they were all unique and different. Mihai is a super great guy and I hope we see each other again! As a TA I will send him more people!

This! Was the highlight of our 15 days in Eastern Europe. George is a wonderful guide and very knowledgeable. We enjoyed everything but I think our favorite was riding on the Traditional Romanian horse cart through the small rural village. We added it to the existing tour. It was so beautiful. From Peles Castle to the many fortifications learning about Romania from a local was an incredible experience. As a travel agent I would not hesitate to send my clients with I Travel in Romania. If you are looking to spend some time learning about the real Transylvania, not time spent in gift shops or eating lunches in hotels, then we can highly recommend this tour. Let’s start with the most important piece of any tour, the guide. Mihai had great communication with us even prior to meeting him in person. His sense of humor and his responsible nature was apparent from the first inquiry until he left us in Bucharest upon the end of the tour. Mihai is knowledgeable in Romania’s history, from medieval times, through the Communist era, all the way through their addition to the EU. He is open-minded and explains everything in as much detail as one wants. He has a quick sense of humor that encourages laughter, so learning from him is not a dry bore. He was open to answering questions about life in Romania as well. I might add that he was always on time, in a clean and well maintained car. Second most important piece, tour content. It is apparent that Mihai has done this a time or two in the past as he has selected the best towns to visit for the overnights. We loved that he allowed us to select which hotel best suited us from a small list of options. That helped us choose the best hotels for our tastes. We also appreciated that we were left on our own in the evenings to explore these small towns on our own. Perhaps the highlight of our days with Mihai was the possibility to eat in local homes, to enjoy meals cooked by local women and to chat with artisans without feeling the need to buy anything. We will never forget the lovely woman, who spoke no English, but shared through hand signals how she prepared the Polenta with Cheese! Then there was the blacksmith and his adorable son who showed us how horseshoes are made. These are the experiences that make a tour. These are the memories that last. Last piece, value. We believe that we paid a fair price for this tour. To have an expert with us, talking about Romania and how each country‘s history has made the world what it is today was priceless. I guess the bottom line is this: If you are looking to see the “real” Romania with a talented and knowledgeable guide, do not hesitate to book this tour. You will be glad you did!

We had the most wonderful time touring Transylvania with Mihai in late October. When I first suggested this trip to our 15 year old son, he was worried that a historic and scenic tour might be a bit boring but within a few hours, he was engrossed and is now raving about the trip to all his friends. And no wonder - our first day involved driving the Transfagarasan (as featured on Top Gear), a close (but safe) encounter with a wild bear, a traditional dinner in a medieval cellar before returning to a lovely, great value hotel recommended and booked for us by Mihai. And that was just the first day! There was much more to come including seeing a traditional Gypsy craftsman at work and exploring Bran Castle on Hallowe'en. As you'll read on other reviews, Mihai is a superb guide and driver and is incredibly knowledgeable about...well, everything! We learned so much, not just about the history of this fascinating country but about contemporary issues too. Mihai arranged everything for us, ensuring this was a stress free trip. He personalised the itinerary for us, suggested visiting sites we'd never have come across as well as incorporating the "must see" stops such as Bran and Peles Castle. He gave us a choice of hotels in each location, all of which were excellent. From the moment he picked us up from our Bucharest hotel, to when he dropped us at the airport, he went out of his way to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. It really felt as if we were being shown round by an old friend! I would absolutely recommend Mihai to anyone. If you are considering touring Romania, then don't hesitate to book him - you won't regret it, I promise.

We took the 4 day private Transylvania tour. Mihai has a great knowledge of Romanian history that he is willing share so that we gained a better understanding of what we were seeing. The tour was an excellent way to see the region, castles and other historic sights. We also had a visit to a gypsy copper and silver smith. This gentleman was very interesting and a great craftsman. He welcomed us into his home and offered us a shot of his moonshine along with some cookies. Mihai conversed with him and then translated his story. The highlight of the tour was travelling from Sibiu to Bucharest via the Transfagarasan road across the Carpathian mountain range. Mihai was flexible in the stops that were made. There was no clock watching which you get on larger group tours. As well, Mihai is a very safe and skilled driver. Booking the trip was seamless via email. Mihai offered 2-3 hotels at each stop for us to review and select. We enjoyed staying in small hotels in the “old town” area of the three cities. A 25% deposit was made via PayPal to reserve the trip. The remainder of payment was made at the start of the trip. Mihai contacted us prior to the start to confirm pickup location and time. We are very happy we did this tour. We had the option of a Transylvania extension of our river cruise. It was not as extensive as this tour included many more sights. It also cost several hundred Euros more per person.

This tour was amazing. Nicu, our guide was excellent. He was creative, and even doing extra for us that was not n our contract. He was careful and considerated person. He even came back by the Transfagarasan way, that was not in the itinerary.. and this was amazing. We even saw a big bear. I strongly advise this guide, he more than wonderful!!

We spent 4 days with Mihai as 2 couples travelling thru Translyvania fro Burcharest. Mihai was a great host and safe driver and nothing was too much trouble for him. Mihai quickly adapted to the Australian sense of humour and quickly adapted to our coffee stops and happy to join us and talk about life in Romania apart from the standard tour history. Highly recommend Mihai.

We have had the pleasure of spending 4 days in Romania through Transylvania with Mihai. A perfect host, guide, driver and all in all nice guy. We appreciated his thoughtful planning and making sure we had the best experience possible. We learned a great deal about Romania, its history and the challenges it faces today. Our guide, Stephan, was excellent and really went beyond the expected to show us a lot of Romania. For me I prefer a bit more active tour and I found that we visited a lot of churches and I wonder if there were not other interesting sites that would we could have visited instead.

Mihai is an excellent guide--knowledgeable,accommodating, and an easy person to spend four days with. We really knew little about Transylvania and were pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the countryside and the fascinating castles and churches we visited. I cannot recommend this excursion highly enough for anyone interested in the interior of Romania.

We, 16 classmates joined a private tour to Bucharest in April, 2019. Mihai is our tour guide. He's a nice, honest and hard working guy. His patience, care and thoroughness shows experienced professionalism that are far exceeded our expectations. We are so blessed to have Mihai as our guide making our trip so valuable and memorable. Before I visited Transylvania/Romania, I have no idea about this place and didn’t have too much expectation. We had a good, reliable and considerate tour guide, Mihai, he not only gave us full detailed explanation for the history of the church, museum and culture, I especially liked the Ice Hotel although I had a small accident there. He also introduced many good restaurants, the food there was delicious and much better than expected. I really enjoyed the trip, thanks Mihai.
