Thoroughly recommend Lasting Adventures! I went backpacking with a group of 7 ladies for this epic trip. Yosemite itself was amazing. But far above this was the expertise, friendliness, and helpfulness of our guides. Our guides cared for us, laughed with us, created a safe space to experience this amazing wilderness, and taught us all how to get along "out there." They were respectful, funny, kind, and knowledgeable. I just can't say enough about their attitudes and presence. My experience (and that of my friends) was top notch. I couldn't imagine a better trip. Would go again in a heartbeat!

Our trip thru Yosemite was fantastic — we had a small group, which was nice. Our guide Caber was the absolute best — extremely knowledgeable, and what a beast of burden! Caber was also an excellent cook. His riddles and word games as we hiked were totally the icing on the cake! Thank you so much!

I just finished a 4-day Glacier Point to Half Dome trip with Lasting Adventures. John was our guide. The trip was amazing. John is incredibly knowledgeable about hiking, backpacking, and camping, as well as the local geology, geography, history, and culture. John loves to cook and fed us wonderful meals--real food, not MREs. He even made us back country donuts! John facilitated collaboration among our group throughout the trip, explaining all our options and helping the group make joint decisions. It rained all day the day we hoped to summit Half Dome. John helped us devise a strategy to shoot for the summit as planned with a fallback plan for the next day. He got us to the summit on our planned day during a break in the weather, in time for sunset and a beautiful rainbow. It was a perfect trip.

John was such a gracious host. He lead our group through Yosemite like we were guests in his home. He went above and beyond to prepare delicious meals and dessert that were outstanding not just for the back country but overall, He modified the plan to accommodate our needs and he was great at modifying the plan to best fit our group. His graciousness, and charisma allowed for our group to connect during this trip and would book another Lasting Adventure without hesitation. Thanks for the awesome experience.

Unforgettable experience. Kanyon and Will shared a ton of Yosemite history and valuable outdoor skills. Hurricane Hilary made conditions too dangerous for Half Dome but we braved the rains and still covered a lot of miles and saw an abundance of beautiful nature. Meals were delicious and well-deserved after the challenging and EXTREMELY rewarding hikes. Highly recommend these guys.

I am so thankful to Lasting Adventures for a trip of a lifetime! My daughters and I instantly felt at ease as soon as we met our amazing guides...Nina and Emily. They were both so knowledgeable, outgoing, engaging and so much fun! The food, locations of the camp sites and the hikes were amazing! We really got to experience the absolute beauty of Yosemite. I went with a wonderful guide Ciaran and 4 twenty somethings - all beautiful people. I am in my high 60's and we felt like a team. The views of course were great, the food our guide prepared (I eat vegan) was delicious and healthy. The culture we learned was fascinating and while we did not summit Half Dome (came within 500 steps) due to a storm coming in we did get to see a bear, bushwhacked, river walk (like done the middle of the Merced) and honestly just had a fantastic time. Highly recommend this trip for any age. I chose to use their gear (tent, bag, pack) but cowboy camped 2 nights (started to trickle 2nd night so I went in the tent). I definitely will be using them in the future. In the bus from Fresno I met a guy who had used them and thought very highly of Lasting Adventures as well as met a woman filtering water at camp and she too had had a wonderful experience with them. You cannot go wrong. Communication with Scott and Will was super prompt and there was a miscommunication with Ciaran regarding the gear I needed. Because I was on a flight and them in dead cell areas I never got to s[peak to Ciaran prior but like a pro he had all the needed gear anyway - that is how prepared he is. Kudos to the team!

This trip is not for the faint of heart. But if you're in shape this will be the trip of a lifetime. 4 days hiking through Yosemite with a waterfall at every turn. Our guides were Ciaran and Cole and they were awesome, knowledgeable about the history of the region, and wonderful cooks at that. I didn't know dehydrated food could taste that good! Highly recommend!

This trip was life changing. Thank you Lasting Adventures for an amazing trip and experience. My guides for the trip were Ciaran and Cole and they were absolutely amazing to be with. They are fantastic guides! They were super helpful and very knowledgeable and kind. I went on this trip solo, and I have zero backpacking and camping experience. I was very happy that I didn't have to bring my own gear because Lasting Adventures provides the tent, sleeping bag, hiking poles etc. I was also nervous because I don't know how to pitch a tent. They taught me everything I needed to know. Yosemite is absolutely amazing and this tour will take you through both the popular, well known parts of Yosemite and into the backcountry. You'll be able to discover parts of Yosemite that are very remote and untouched by other people. Ciaran and Cole are very knowledgeable about the trails, animals, plants, and history of the Sierra Nevada. I feel like I learned a lot throughout the trip. When we stopped to camp every night, Cole and Ciaran quickly helped us set up camp, started prepping the food and took care of cleaning it all up so that we could enjoy our experience in the backcountry. The meals they prepared were delicious and filling. They made excellent coffee and tea for us every morning and made sure we had enough to eat and drink. They were also very good at making sure we had enough water all the time. They brought a few water filters so we could filter our water at the waterfalls, creeks and streams. I felt very safe and comfortable camping and hiking with Cole and Ciaran. They made sure that no one was left behind while hiking and one of them always stayed with us. Half Dome is extremely difficult, and I was very nervous about it. However, Ciaran is an expert on the Half Dome hike and he encouraged and motivated each and everyone of us while we were doing it. He taught us exactly how to ascend and descend. We even got there early before the main crowds got up. Overall, I would highly recommend this trip. Yosemite is stunning and it's amazing to be able to experience the the backcountry more than just the popular trails/tourist spots.

Because of snow pack and glacier road being closed we did an alternate 4 day back pack from Hetch hetchy to gravel pit and on to Eleanor lake. We were disappointed not to get to do half dome but saw an awesome little traveled part of the park. We were able on subsequent days to hike to glacier point. Waterfalls were insane and what a view from the top! Our guide Kanyon was amazing ! Food was awesome and he was very helpful and knowledgeable! He shared climbing stories, taught us the ropes of backpacking and leaving no trace. We were lucky to have only 3 in our group so that was special. Loved seeing the high school camp trips and hearing about lasting adventures commitment to teaching leadership skill in the wilderness. Great experience highly recommend this guide service.

The views from Half Dome were amazing. The refreshing swim in the Merced river post hike was fabulous. My guide, John was outstanding. He took the time to get to know me and semi-custom molded our trip. I was happily exhausted each day. There was not any downside. 5 Stars !!!!!

Amazing Experience! This was my first time visiting Yosemite and I am so glad I chose to go with Lasting Adventures. The trip was incredibly well planned out, we were taken to some incredible places, looked after (and fed!) very well. Our campsites were beautiful and very remote. Can't recommend this experience more!

I (51) took my son (22), daughter (18), and her friend (19) on the Half Dome backpacking trip along with my friend and her husband! This has been on my bucket list for quite some time! We made it to Half Dome for sunrise and it was amazing! We had the top to ourselves for approximately two hours! Our guides, Jon and Emily, made the experience fun and their meals were incredible! We enjoyed the time together and felt very accomplished at the end of the trip! Kudos to Lasting Adventures!!!

We had many great moments on this backpacking trip but what really made this trip big time fun was our guide Bella! Her experience, enthusiasm for Yosemite and the outdoors, and her amazing way to provide food still has me talking about our trip! At 58 years old I was a bit concerned about doing the cable half-dome climb, but with Bella's leadership and encouragement I did it!!

This was my 5th backpacking experience, but my first guided experience. It was absolutely amazing! My guide was Jesse and he did a great job keeping a pace that worked for a group, cooked amazing food, and was very informative of all aspects of the park. In addition, when submitting Half Dome, he was helpful and supportive to get us up and down. He gave us the option to do a sunset or sunrise hike up to Half Dome and the group elected the sunset option. He cooked dinner at the top of Half Dome and we ate as we watched the sunset. It was amazing and we all absolutely loved it. I would recommend Lasting Adventures and our guide Jesse to anyone that is interested in hiking Half Dome.

What an incredible trip. First and foremost, our guides Sarah and Lucie were spectacular. They kept us well fed, educated on the history of Yosemite, and entertained throughout the whole experience. The three of us “40 something” guys were all first time backpackers and they made the whole journey very comfortable and memorable for us. Our summit to Half Dome was amazing. We were scheduled for a Saturday sunset summit but with clouds rolling in, Sarah and Lucie decided it was best to hold off for a Sunday Sunrise journey instead. It was well worth the wait as we were able to make it to the top of Half Dome just as the sun began to rise in the East over the mountains. I can’t imagine a better way to experience this amazing place. A sincere thank you to Lasting Adventures and especially To Sarah and Lucie! I’ll definitely be back someday!

Amazing experience, the journey is extraordinary, the guides are very experienced and have the best attitude. Its a trip made for anyone with good a positive mindset and looking for a natural life changing experience

We had most unusual weather. Started out at Glacier Point. Temp 100 degrees. Within 30 hours we were in the middle of lightening strikes, heavy rain that would not let up, and hail storm (the hail the size of marbles). The hail was painful when it hit us in the head. Our guides rose to the occasion and got us down the mountain safely before we suffered from hypothermia. This is June 30, 2021 not January. While we did not get to Half Dome, which was disappointing, we got to see and do other things in the park that were worth while. I'm looking forward to another trip back to try again. Kudos to our guides Jess and Eric. They worked well together and were clearly well trained. All 8 of us mature participants were very happy with the trip from the start till the end. None of us will forget this Lasting Adventure. Steve

Lasting Adventures offered phenomenal guided tours of Yosemite. We completed the Yosemite Valley private guided tour, and also the Glacier Point to Half Dome backpacking trip. Zach and Logan were exceptional leaders. Zach’s knowledge of Yosemite and wisdom on proper procedures and technique made the trip better for everyone. Logan’s quiet support and willingness to help in any way showed a strength of character and love of his work. Our traveling companions were outstanding as well. The physical challenge of the trek coupled with the astounding beauty of our surroundings made an unforgettable memory. Hands down the most amazing trip...ever! Marina and Nicole shared the magic of Yosemite with us in so many ways. From the history of the park to the trails and the surroundings, their knowledge of the park, backpacking, and the great outdoors was so impressive. Their culinary expertise was not lost on our group either! The Half Dome summit will be etched in my memory forever. Nicole and Marina gave me the gloves off their hands to make sure I felt comfortable getting up! And it was pure magic at the top. We hit the guide jackpot in so many ways.
